I'm planning to start my first round of ICSI with my next cycle - anyone else in the same boat and want some online company? Or anyone already been through this and got useful tips/advice?

@IrisViolet I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you are ok, it must be very hard- look after yourself and wish you the best for next time x

AnnieStar12 · 23/03/2024 22:21

@IrisViolet sorry this one didn’t work out, but I’m sure you’ll have a baby amongst those Frosties when you’re ready to try again x

Hi Everyone. Hi@AnnieStar12 I think you replied to a post of mine. Can I join please ,my transfer is booked in for Thursday. This is a sibling round.

Good look to those who have had transfers. Sorry to those whose transfers failed. It’s such a rollercoaster of a journey and bloody cruel at times.

Cathycatcat · 24/03/2024 18:52

Hi @charliegirl77 welcome. Are you having a frozen transfer?

I tried testing this morning and it was negative. Today’s the 6th day post transfer. I also had some very light brown spotting which has now turned red, so I’m guessing that my period is coming. As much as I was trying to be calm
about the move, I don’t think it has helped having that added stress. We fly tomorrow, so that’ll be a fun long haul flight… feeling a bit down now.

AnnieStar12 · 24/03/2024 20:09

@Cathycatcat I’m sorry to hear that. I also tested negative today and feel really gutted. I know there’s still a chance, but it’s getting a very slim chance at this point as most people would have had a positive by now. I’ve been feeling down today as I’ve no frosties so it’s looking quite likely that I’ll be right back to square 1 :(

Good luck with the move. Do you plan to come back for the FET?

@charliegirl77 welcome to the thread. Good luck with the transfer on Thursday. Is this a FET?

How is everyone else doing? Hoping there’s positive outcomes for some of us!

@AnnieStar12 sorry to hear that but you never know might be too early…

I tested negative too 💔 and no frosties. So so difficult 😣

RoseOlivia25 · 24/03/2024 21:01

Hi! I did my first round of IVF in March too, after TTC for 18 months we paid for tests as have another child, and it came back that we had male fertility issues on my partners side so decided ICSI was the best decision for us. We had the transfer on 16/03 and I have just tested today for the first time (8 days post 5dt) the clinic told me test on the 27th but I couldn’t wait! I’ve got a very faint line, it is just a normal test not one of the early detection so I’m cautiously optimistic. Has anyone ever had a positive test at 8dp5dt and ended up no longer getting a positive a few days later on the actual test date? Super nervous but feel a little relief for seeing that faint line 🙏🏼 sending lots of positive vibes to you all x

mlruirod · 24/03/2024 21:22

I'm sorry to hear about your negative results @Cathycatcat @AnnieStar12 @Drzoem I read that until day 7th or 8th day post transfer you may not have enough HCG in your body to test positive yet so fingers crossed for you all, it may be stiil early🤞❤️

@charliegirl77 good luck with the transfer!

@RoseOlivia25 congrats on your BFP! 👏

Cathycatcat · 25/03/2024 06:30

@AnnieStar12 @Drzoem sorry to hear both negative too. Part of me wants to think it might still be too early. I’m not properly bleeding but there’s still some light spotting happening. Other part of me just wants to move on and enjoy the move and be excited about living in a new country. We were told we could ship our frozen embryo so might try again when we’re more ready. It’s been such bad timing with this one as we’d waited almost half a year for the hycosy. It was all meant to be done last year but ended up being the month that we leave. Typical!

Cathycatcat · 25/03/2024 06:35

@RoseOlivia25 I’m guessing at 8 days the trigger hcg would have washed out so it might be for real! Congrats!

RoseOlivia25 · 25/03/2024 07:03

@Cathycatcat I hope so. It had been 15 days since my trigger shot. I am going to test again today and hope the line is a little darker 🤞🏼 I then have to wait until Wednesday to test again as that’s the day they are going to call me. Keeping everything crossed its such a mix of emotions all the time with IVF 😫

mlruirod · 25/03/2024 15:30

Hi, I've discharged (brownish/pinkish) a bit today, which looks like the discharge I normally get a few days before my period. Those of you who had some discharge recently before your negative result, at what point did your discharge start after transfer? I feel a bit down as it just looks like when I'm going to have my period but I'm keeping myself positive saying that it would be too early for it if transfer was on Saturday? 😫

Capybara95 · 25/03/2024 16:59

Hey everyone, sorry for going ghost I just needed to take a few days after getting my negative result. Sorry to hear of a few more negative results too and good luck to anyone still waiting on their result!

I have booked a private consultation as there is currently a 12 week wait for the NHS follow up appointment so I’m hoping at that appointment they will just put us straight on the waiting list for a FET I don’t think there is much wait atm so fingers crossed won’t take too long.

AnnieStar12 · 25/03/2024 21:28

@Capybara95 I'm so sorry you got a negative. We haven't been a very lucky group here have we! Good luck with the private appointment, is that at the same hospital you are seen by the NHS, or are you starting new somewhere?

@mlruirod I would ask your clinic for advice, I know I was told that spotting in the days after transfer can be normal. Maybe it's even a sign of implantation!

I spoke to my clinic today about starting my next cycle and trying a different type of stim injection. I'm really keen to just start over again asap when my period arrives. I still have to wait until Wednesday for my official test day just incase there's a surprise positive, but as that is incredibly unlikely I'm keen to get things lined up so I can put this failed cycle behind me. But having Easter in the way might ruin it for me as they'll likely be closed when I need my baseline scan. The thought of having to wait a whole month to start again just feels so unfair.

Capybara95 · 25/03/2024 21:37

@AnnieStar12 no we really haven’t. Fingers crossed we all have better luck next time! I’m seeing one of the consultants who works at the NHS hospital but he also holds private clinics and he will be able to add us back to the NHS treatment list so I will only have to pay for the consultation then be NHS again. It’s just quicker than waiting on an NHS review appointment to get added back to the treatment list.

2024forthewin · 26/03/2024 00:18

Sorry I’ve been MIA but needed some time off from thinking about IVF. Have just caught up on the messages and I was so sorry to hear about the negative tests. Love to you all. An eye opener to this whole process, BUT sending good vibes for the next stages! Anyone doing a FET in April let me know and we can hold hands! Day 1 of the oestrogen tablets for me today.

Beka245 · 26/03/2024 07:41

Hi all I'm catching up on the messages, I'm so sorry to everyone who has had negative tests over the past few days. I'm wishing everyone the best luck with their next steps, sending hugs to all ❤️

I caved and tested last night 9 days post transfer, I was getting really anxious and worked up so just needed to know. To our complete surprise there was a strong positive on the test, I'm still in a bit of shock really! Got a blood test at my clinic on Thursday to confirm

Steph2345 · 26/03/2024 08:07

@Capybara95 I hope you get back on the list soon. It’s great you get more than 1 try on the NHS.

@AnnieStar12 i know what you mean. All of the various routes I’ve tried I’ve done back to back to just keep going. Will you be able to do long protocol the next time?

@2024forthewin me! I’m doing FET. I’m a week into stims. I was thinking of starting an April chat as I couldn’t see one the other day.

@Beka245 oh my god!!!!! This is amazing news! Congratulations

@mlruirod hold on in there. Hopefully it’ll pass in the next few days

@RoseOlivia25 that sounds promising! Congrats! Is this your first round?

RoseOlivia25 · 26/03/2024 08:13

@Steph2345 thank you! It is my first round yes 🤞🏼 my official test date is tomorrow so I need to wait until then to confirm for definite. Tested again this morning on a cheap one and there was a line but it was very very weak. I did a clear blue one yesterday and that was much clearer line so might just be the test not showing a strong line 🙏🏼 will update you all tomorrow x

Capybara95 · 26/03/2024 08:14

@Beka245 amazing news!! Congratulations!!

@Steph2345 yes we’re very lucky that it changed very recently where we are that we can transfer all our frozen ones on the NHS until we have a live birth. Only get one egg collections but we were lucky to get 5 frozen. Do you still have to do stims for a FET? How long will you have to do those for?

Lucylaughing · 26/03/2024 08:33

@Capybara95 sorry it didn't work out for you. Hope you're ok and take some time to rest before your FET.

@Beka245 congratulations!

@Steph2345 there is an April thread, I'm on there now as I just started stims and most on here are in TWW or finished

Steph2345 · 26/03/2024 08:38

@Lucylaughing ah great! i wonder why I can’t find it

AnnieStar12 · 26/03/2024 17:37

I tested negative again today, so with tomorrow my official test day I’ll then take that as confirmation. I have lined up my consultation with the doctor for Saturday morning to talk next steps. I’m going to try Menopur next cycle and see if I respond better to that. Just need to work out logistics to see if we can go with this coming cycle or have to wait until next month.

@Beka245 congratulations, wonderful news! So pleased there’s some positives on here. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy. Gives me hope for the next cycle :)

@RoseOlivia25 hopefully the line gets darker for you tomorrow. Fingers crossed 🤞 Do keep us posted.

@2024forthewin good luck with the FET. If I start my next round next week I’ll join you on the April chat, otherwise I’ll be around on a May support group in a few weeks!

@Steph2345 no, am sticking with short protocol - I spoke to another consultant who said theres not that much difference between long/short so might as well keep with short. I was also reluctant to miss a cycle with down regs, as I at least want to try naturally inbetween ivf cycles. But I think that’s just me feeling like I’m running out of time and not wanting to “waste” any cycle.

@mlruirod how are you doing? Hope the spotting has stopped.

Lavendermarshmallows · 27/03/2024 07:23

@AnnieStar12 Sorry for the late reply, took some time off to try to think everything but IVF in prep for next cycle! I Had one fresh transfer previously it was a 5AA, that didn't implant sadly. Will be transferring another 5AA in April, so fingers crossed for 2nd time lucky, just waiting for my period to start then back on the meds again.

Really hope everyone is getting on ok with their cycles, sending positive vibes and baby dust to everyone x

Lavendermarshmallows · 27/03/2024 07:37

Sorry for double post, I didn't realise I had missed so many messages :(

I'm really sorry to hear it was negative @Drzoem @AnnieStar12 @Cathycatcat @IrisViolet @Capybara95 I hope you've been able to find time to rest and recoup, I know from my negative its a lot of ups and downs, but as long as we can keep moving forward, it will happen for us dreaming for our baby, I won't believe it any other way!
