Anyone else preparing for FET April 2024

1000 replies

blahblahetc · 19/02/2024 15:18

Hello, wondering if anyone is preparing for an FET in April?

This will be my 3rd transfer. 1st one implanted but early loss, second (euploid) and third (untested) did not implant. I'm waiting to do a hysteroscopy next week + an ERA following week prior to transfer in April.

We decided against testing this time, and are wondering whether or not to do a double transfer. Our embryos are AA/ABs so want to feel hopeful but fully aware of the possible failure(s) ahead of us..

@Sunflower360 no, sorry, I haven't used any other brand myself! I have one pack of Gynoflor that I haven't used (just 6 pessaries though) - I'm in London and happy to pass them on if you're in this area?

@blahblahetc thanks will check that out @beachbum85 not in London unfortunately, but thank you!

@Southlondoner88 hi hope you're doing well! I'm currently 12dp5dt and have held out until OTD which is tomorrow. Feeling so nervous 🙈 what helped us wait it out is that we both booked the day off work so we can have some time to process either way.

I found yesterday was the hardest day so far, getting so frustrated with the waiting etc. i was absolutely exhausted and have spent so much time googling symptoms etc however I think I finally came to terms with the fact that the meds are causing all these symptoms and I won't know until we test! It took me so long to resign to this fact 😂 hope you're keeping positive and best of luck with the wait!

And of course to anyone else waiting patiently to test! 🙏✨

LouP87 · 23/04/2024 11:48

Amazing news on all the BFPs! Congratulations for all of you.

had my scan this morning to check lining, a lovely 8mm! My partner has to give over his swimmers on Thursday at which point they’ll thaw all of my eggs. All being well, transfer could be Tuesday next week!

fingers crossed all goes as planned, and fingers crossed for everyone still waiting on good news!

Sunflower360 · 23/04/2024 12:31

Has anyone taken probiotics whilst on Prednisolone??? I'm reading mixed things on it as Prednisolone suppresses immune system and probiotics introduce bacteria

wildhay · 23/04/2024 12:46

Hi all, final check in on this thread for me. Just wanted to wish everyone still waiting to test or transfer all the success in the world, and a healthy pregnancy for those with BFPs

My update is that the FRERs and Wondflo arrived at the weekend, I've only done 1 FRER on Sunday which was negative but on and off all different brands have been getting squinter lines, 0 progression, this started with the potential evap on 6dp5dt then carried on til Sunday mainly on afternoon tests, no consistency as I was switching brands, so I think I had a chemical pregnancy end of last week, then the more sensitive Wondflo picked this up after the 25muis no longer could.

And emotional roller coaster to say the least, official test date is tomorrow 14dp5dt! Way too long tbh don't know why they are making anyone wait that long. However all tests now negative and the bargaining stage of my grief is over.

I'm glad I at least caught a glimpse at the chemical as it means my body gave it a go and most likely wasn't a viable embryo.

Sadly think the next window to transfer will clash with a holiday abroad so will see you in the June transfer group @MotherOfShihTzus and anyone else who is transferring at that time

Keeping positive, and a tiny bit of relief that I don't have to deal with an Xmas day bday in the family :) and have my daughters 3rd birthday to focus on now next Tuesday (she was my 4th transfer @blahblahetc ) ❤️

Good luck and all the best everyone x

MotherOfShihTzus · 23/04/2024 12:51

Hi @Sunflower360 yes; I was on pred this cycle, and had also introduced a pre and pro-biotic. I had a chemical; likely the embryo/ low progesterone, but now wondering about this; are you able to share what you've read?

Yes @wildhay see you in June. Hopefully a nice (probably not relaxing with toddlers! 😆) holiday for us both in May will be just what we need.

Best of luck to those still in the mix! X

Sunflower360 · 23/04/2024 12:53

@MotherOfShihTzus its on Optibacs website to consult your Dr...apparently can increase risk of infection as your immune system is low. I am wondering if I'm better off just using natural remedies 😬 Am checking with my Dr whether to take Optibac or not

www.optibacprobiotics.com/uk/learning-lab/about/probiotics/when-should-i-not-take-probiotics

Sunflower360 · 23/04/2024 13:48

@MotherOfShihTzus been advised hy the Dr its fine to take as its a short period of time, so I suppose I'll take the probiotics for this FET and stop the Prednisolone if this FET does not work. I'm planning on taking a month's break anyway after this FET if it doesn't work as I'm considering another EC if its another BFN so would be off Prednisolone for a few months until another FET was to happen anyway

Sherr33 · 23/04/2024 14:06

Hi all

I've been relatively quiet on the group. Today I've had my paperwork appointment to start our FET.

Next week Wednesday is my CD21 appointment, then down reg 15/05, CD12 27/05 and transfer potential on CD19 03/06.

I've been told about the prostrap injection, and that I will be on 8mg total of elleste solo and tinzaparin as I am at risk of clots. Can anyone give me an idea whether the prostrap is given on cd21 or at the down reg app because I've actually forgotten what the nurse said 🤦‍♀️

They also mentioned adding on endometrial scratch but they seemed to be leaning towards it being a waste of money. I was wondering how many have had this done and what was it like? What was the outcome?

Southlondoner88 · 23/04/2024 14:13

I feel nothing today so let’s see… it’s hard because I’m paying attention to every possible sign.

Southlondoner88 · 23/04/2024 15:23

@Babydusttous2024 best of luck for tomorrows result!

Babydusttous2024 · 23/04/2024 17:41

@Southlondoner88 I totally understand I was keeping a diary of symptoms and everything it's so hard.
I had ohss after egg collection and was unwell, but this two weeks wait has been much much harder! Give me physical pain over this anyday!

Thanks so much, feeling very much like AF is trying to reach me the last few days but trying to hang on to some screed of hope ✨🙏 when are you going to test??

lemons44 · 23/04/2024 18:27

Hi @Sherr33 I had my prostap injection last cycle on CD 21. I had to travel to the clinic to have it as they wouldn't let me do it at home.

I had an endometrial scratch last cycle on CD 17. I haven't had my embryo transfer yet so can't comment on if the scratch works! I think it's one of those things there isn't enough firm evidence yet on if it works. I just thought it was worth a try.

xx

Sunflower360 · 24/04/2024 06:44

@blahblahetc is it 5dp5dt for you? If so and you decide to test (remember you saying you were thinking if dumb so) hope it goes ok, but just remember it is still very early!

Sunflower360 · 24/04/2024 06:44

*doing so, not dumb!!!!

Sunflower360 · 24/04/2024 06:45

@Babydusttous2024 good luck to you too!

Babydusttous2024 · 24/04/2024 07:07

@Sunflower360 thanks a mill! Another BFP for the group, I can't believe it! ✨🤭✨

Sunflower360 · 24/04/2024 07:08

@Babydusttous2024 congratulations! Was this your first FET?

Babydusttous2024 · 24/04/2024 07:18

Thank you so much 🙏 after 4 years of struggles and surgeries for endometriosis and PCOS etc as most women in this group will relate to, we were advised to go with IVF in January, I ended up getting ohss so this was our first FET after our egg collection ❤️ hoping they're well bedded in now for the next 8 months!!🤭🙏🤞

blahblahetc · 24/04/2024 07:51

@Sunflower360 Yes, thanks for remembering. I just did on a FRER and it’s not looking good 😏It’s the lack of symptoms that makes me think it’s failed again. I mean, I know what I feel when pregnant..

I feel that I have done everything possible and more too, hysteroscopy (that supposedly works as a scratch), assisted hatching (this clinic does that anyway) and embryo glue.. so it may be down to the embryos being aneuploids, a risk I am aware of.

I will test again tmr (maybe later today!), and I’m going to book in for a beta HCG Monday 10DPT. I’m not holding out till the 14th day! Plus, looking at my old notes, my period always came on day 12 so might just start planning the next one 😢

Have you had your scan? Remind me where are you at and do you have a transfer date?

@Babydusttous2024 Congrats to you! How many days past are you?

Babydusttous2024 · 24/04/2024 08:01

Hi @blahblahetc sorry to hear you think you might be out, and apologies if my update was insensitive given your situation 🙈 how many days post transfer are you? We somehow managed to wait until our OTD which is 13dpt!
