Anyone else preparing for FET April 2024

1000 replies

blahblahetc · 19/02/2024 15:18

Hello, wondering if anyone is preparing for an FET in April?

This will be my 3rd transfer. 1st one implanted but early loss, second (euploid) and third (untested) did not implant. I'm waiting to do a hysteroscopy next week + an ERA following week prior to transfer in April.

We decided against testing this time, and are wondering whether or not to do a double transfer. Our embryos are AA/ABs so want to feel hopeful but fully aware of the possible failure(s) ahead of us..

Hello and good luck to those who joined recently 🍀

@blahblahetc good news on AF! I also find that I am bleeding only two days. There is good flow in the first two days and then it suddenly stops, not sure what to make of it. Previously it would gradually slow down and stop. Perimenopausal is a possibility given my age.

I am triggering with Ovitrelle tonight, transfer a week from now!

Sunflower360 · 02/04/2024 12:37

@blahblahetc ah I see, could you ask the clinic about that? Can see why it would seem out of odds with the ERA test you've had done

@Serendipity24 how old are you if you don't mind me asking? The meds do so much in terms of hormones etc its bound to have an effect of some kind whether that be cycle length or flow

@lemons44 I'm on Prednisolone for Thyroid antibodies. Whether it works or not is yet to be seen. I had a pregnancy last year that ended in a chemical but that was without Prednisolone as it was natural

MotherOfShihTzus · 02/04/2024 13:31

@lemons44 hi - I'm on immune protocol with dr Shehata. My first ivf was on intralipids, hydroxy, inhixa, progesterone - conceived my son first round; had a chemical on my most recent fresh transfer on the same protocol, so adding in prednisone to this transfer. Intralipids have a large amount of anecdotal evidence, and there are many with recurrent loss who swear by it. I think it will not be given a green light by HFEA any time soon, due to the ethics around testing out new treatment on pregnant women. It's expensive, but I believe it to be a key reason I was able to have my son. Going for my pre- fet dose tomorrow! I have to travel c.8 hrs round trip but for me it's worth it x

blahblahetc · 02/04/2024 13:54

@Serendipity24 @Sunflower360 So this was what the doctor said, "Shorter cycles and lighter flows are very normal after using hormonal medication and it's nothing to be concerned about" phew... I think my mum menopaused in her 50s so I should have at least a good 10 years left! 😅

@Sunflower360 So I misunderstood, the ERA tells me when I need to start progesterone prior to transfer, it does not mean I need to transfer on day X... so that puts me more at ease..

Sunflower360 · 02/04/2024 13:55

@blahblahetc that's reassuring! So will you be on 4 days of Progesterone?

lemons44 · 02/04/2024 13:58

Thanks so much for the replies ladies!!!!

Do you mind me asking about test results? My blood showed 33% for NK cells but I also had elevated 'TH1/TH2 intracellular cytokine ratio' which I had never heard of but my consultant said is linked to miscarriage.
Did you all have the ratio test too?

@MotherOfShihTzus so glad the treatment worked for you to have your son and I'm sorry for your recent chemical. Good luck for the treatment tomorrow. Do you mind me asking what clinic you are with?
X

blahblahetc · 02/04/2024 14:01

@Sunflower360 hmm just looking at the report, more like 6 days. The recommended time of progesterone administration is 132-144hrs.. so hoping 18th or 19th April now! Going mad with all these tentative dates in my head😄

MotherOfShihTzus · 02/04/2024 14:52

@lemons44 of course; I'm having fertility treatment at CRGW wales, but have my immune protocol with dr Shehata. I had highly active NK cells, and high IFN gamma. There's are 2 groups on Facebook I find helpful - there are ppl there who will help interpret results; UK reproductive Immunology and reproductive immunology support group x

lemons44 · 02/04/2024 14:52

Thank you @MotherOfShihTzus I'm going to look at the groups!

Hello everyone,

just read through lots of posts on this thread to try and catch up, it’s been a while since I’ve been on here!

originally was supposed to have a fresh transfer in January, but my partner ended up having quite a serious accident a few days before transfer was booked. We ended up going ahead with egg collected and had them frozen, ready for when he was better.

He’s on the mend now and we’ve scheduled for egg thawing and transfer for my April cycle, which will be around the 8th.

extremely anxious about the thawing, as I’ve read that it’s harder for eggs to survive it than embryos. We got 8 eggs, all mature. Fingers crossed for any many survivors as possible!

Serendipity24 · 02/04/2024 17:39

Hi @LouP87 so sorry to hear about your partner's accident. Accidents are bad anytime but to have an accident during a cycle is especially horrible. Glad that he has recovered and you are ready for the next steps. I never had frozen eggs so can't really comment on thawing. Hopefully they'll all be alright. Wishing you the very best 🍀

@Sunflower360 44!

blahblahetc · 02/04/2024 18:18

@LouP87 8th is not too far away! I read that 90% of eggs survive compared to 95% of embryos so not a big difference.. 🍀

There is a good thread for immune stuff - ERA,EMMA,ALICE testing thread 10 if you need advice regarding results etc x

Lasagne30 · 02/04/2024 23:37

@Serendipity24 I'll also be triggering tonight-transfer in a week. We'll be transfer buddies ❤️ haha

charliegirl77 · 03/04/2024 10:40

Hi Everyone. Just catching up. I’m useless at keeping up with threads I join 😂

Transfer went ahead for me on Thursday, no problems passing the catheter. We went to visit family over Easter to keep busy. I forgot how long the tww is, well 11days for us. OTD is next Monday.

Interesting to read others have had polyps removed, or know of people with them. Interesting and wise some are doing non medicated to avoid oestrogen.

This is our last frosty and we have nothing more. Reading others experiences we may look into going abroad.

Glad to hear lots of you have dates for transfers and others are getting started with meds and arrival of AF’s (as don’t you know AF Is always late when your wanting to get started)

MotherOfShihTzus · 03/04/2024 10:40

@Lasagne30 @Serendipity24 also transferred last night! FET next Tuesday :)

Sunflower360 · 03/04/2024 11:09

@MotherOfShihTzus @Serendipity24 @Lasagne30 good to hear you've all triggered. Did you surge or was it based on follicle size?

@charliegirl77 good luck with your tww! Was your embryo tested? Hopefully it works out and you don't need to think about another EC. Have to say I'm always thinking one step ahead too, will see how this goes and then will do another FET. Was considering a break but may actually have the 1 month break after a 3rd FET if this 2nd FET doesn't work...mainly due to social commitments

lemons44 · 03/04/2024 11:13

Sorry to hear about your partner having an accident @LouP87 I think clinics hve for better at egg thawing (just think how many women have their eggs frozen because they haven't met a partner yet) so keeping everything crossed for you.

My period FINALLY ARRIVED this morning 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 13 days after I finished my provera. I had started to give up hope. My baseline scan is tomorrow and hopefully all is well and I can begin my meds.
xx

lemons44 · 03/04/2024 11:14

Have got better *

Sunflower360 · 03/04/2024 11:25

@lemons44 that is good news, is this your first FET?

Serendipity24 · 03/04/2024 11:27

@Sunflower360 The clinic asked me to trigger based on the scan only. But I have been doing LH tests at home just to check and I surged yesterday evening, so it's perfect timing.

@Lasagne30 and @MotherOfShihTzus hope you are okay after triggering. I didn't feel very well last night after the shot but much better today.

Sunflower360 · 03/04/2024 11:29

@Serendipity24 ah that's good timing. What day is your transfer?

Serendipity24 · 03/04/2024 11:31

@Sunflower360 Transfer is on next Tuesday

MotherOfShihTzus · 03/04/2024 11:39

@Sunflower360 yet to surge - hopefully tonight/ tomorrow. This was based on scan - I'm now hoping it's not too soon if fet booked for Tuesday? Given @Serendipity24 you've surged and have FET same day? Getting a little worried! Although I'm on oestrogen etc if that makes a difference? Glad you're feeling better @Serendipity24 - I didn't feel too bad after. Currently getting my intralipids

Sunflower360 · 03/04/2024 11:42

@MotherOfShihTzus if you triggered then that would be your surge, but administered externally. So if you triggered last night then FET Tuesday would make sense
