Hi, I’m currently 4dp5dt and wondering if anyone else is in their 2ww, well 9 days after 5dt?

Hi @IVFjourney23 😀
I am 5dpt5dt !
mind going crazy, emotions everywhere , may just lose the plot 🥹 how you feeling ?

IVFjourney23 · 08/09/2023 10:35

Mind going crazy as well 🙂 I’m trying to symptom spot, which I know is ridiculous as symptoms can be the same for negative or positive results.
When do you think you will test? I’m trying to hold out but not sure yet.

OP posts:
praying4babba · 08/09/2023 10:41

Me too !! I have been nauseas, a lot of cramps ,piercing stabs and we won’t talk about my emotions. Keep checking for spotting or brown discharge but nothing .
I caved and bought a cheap test this morning on way to work and it is negative but trying to pick myself up off the ground and carry on 🥹
do you have symptoms ?

IVFjourney23 · 08/09/2023 10:50

You’ve just got to think it’s still early days. I have my 🤞🏼 for us both! I think I will test tomorrow morning but then leave it a couple of days.
Maybe slight nausea and slightly tender breasts. A few little twinges and sharp pains. No spotting either. My emotions are all over the place as well 🙂 but I think that is mainly from the long journey to get to this point.
Is this your first transfer? And do you mind me asking what grade embryo you transferred?
Ours was a fet with a 5AA blastocyst. So can’t complain on that front but all of the disappointment over the years makes you think it’s not going to work.

OP posts:
praying4babba · 08/09/2023 11:16

This is our first time and we have taken all year to get here. It is a PGt a tested embryo and our only one so fingers crossed , everything crossed! I am 44 so age is def not on my side. Have a 15 year old so it has been second infertility.
I had five fibroids removed this year and then had to go into medical menopause for 10 weeks as was diagnosed with adenomyosis. It has been a lot . Have you done this many times ? I feel like I want to cry in the corner lol

IVFjourney23 · 08/09/2023 11:40

Sounds like you have been through it. That’s good that it was PGT tested. We’ve got to try and be positive 🙂 all the medication doesn’t help with the emotions though do they?
We started out fertility treatment a few years ago so not been easy with COVID delays and other health issues. I have severe lean PCOS, the specialists say it’s the worst they’ve ever seen. Always good to know 😂
We’ve tried Letrozole, done 6 SIUI cycles with 2 chemical pregnancies. They were heartbreaking to see a positive and then to be taken away.
Did an egg collection earlier this year and over responded so had to take a break to let my body calm down. They collected 37 eggs and we ended up with 12 top quality blastocysts in the freezer.
This is our first FET.

OP posts:
praying4babba · 08/09/2023 13:06

No it doesn't at all! Gosh I have not heard about lean PCOS, I had PCOS when I was younger but metformin sorted that and I fell pregnant with my DS. Also tried letrozole for close to a year and had to break away as was feeling like a robot. I can only imagine how heart breaking that is and I am so sorry you went through that. 12 top blasts is amazing and well done!!! We have only done one retrieval and that ended up with 7 eggs , 4 blasts at day 5, pushed one to day 6 and it didnt make it. Tested the 3 and 1 came back normal.

IVFjourney23 · 08/09/2023 14:29

Ah I’ve tried metformin, different brands of inositol, the lot and nothing works for me, it seems I’m a real mystery. I was diagnosed in my early 20s and I’m late 30s now.
Yes happy with the 12 but they haven’t been PGT tested. We weren’t offered to test, I’m guessing because it was a NHS cycle. I’m told it’s roughly a 50/50 chance with PGT numbers.
Might sound crazy but this hot weather has been worrying me as well. I’m like, why now 😂 I worry that I’m overheating, I know people in hot countries have babies all of the time, but this infertility journey makes you irrational!

OP posts:
praying4babba · 09/09/2023 07:09

We live in the southern hemisphere so your hot weather is all we are used to 80% of the year lol Just keep up with your fluids. Yes this journey is not for the faint hearted, this is one of the hardest things I have ever gone through to be honest. The hormones are on another level. I did another test yesterday and it was neg so I am now convinced it has not worked, but maybe also preparing myself? Gosh I don't know. I am still cramping and my mind is going crazy. Last night I felt so bad being negative and having these thoughts but it is hard not to go quite mad.

IVFjourney23 · 09/09/2023 08:34

So you are used to the hot weather 🙂 we are definitely not.
It’s the same for us, we have been together a very long time and the hardest journey by far.
It’s very hard not to be negative. Hopefully you can have a good weekend and try to keep your mind off it even just for a little while.
I just did a test really early this morning and got a very faint positive. Trying not to be so happy with the chemical pregnancies we’ve already had.
When is your official test date?

OP posts:
Sj2505 · 09/09/2023 10:10

Hi both,
Can I join? I'm only 2dp5dt.
I already have an 8 year old from my previous relationship and previous NHS IVF.
This time my fiancé had a vasectomy before I met him, so he's had sperm retrieval. Our IVF resulted in severe OHSS, I was in hospital for 9 days with fluid in my lungs and abdomen.
Our first FET ended in a chemical pregnancy which was awful!
And now here we are on our 2nd FET 🤞🏼

IVFjourney23 · 09/09/2023 16:31

Hi, of course 🙂
Sorry to hear of your tough times. It’s good you can get back on with it now as I find the waiting for everything to settle down is the worst! Obviously it’s needed, just waiting is all we seem to do.
When do you think you will test? How many embryos do you have?

OP posts:
Sj2505 · 09/09/2023 21:32

Thank you. It is a lot of waiting around isn't it! You need a lot of patience for IVF, something I do not have in abundance 😆
I won't test early like last time. I think I'll test around 10/11dpt maybe. I'm currently testing out my trigger and judging by todays I think it should be completely gone by tomorrow and that'll (hopefully) be me done with testing until then.
We have another two embryos frozen. How about you?
Your slight positive this morning sounds promising! How many dpt are you?

IVFjourney23 · 09/09/2023 21:38

I think IVF tests us all on the patience front 😂
I caved and tested early even though I said I wouldn’t. Couldn’t resist. Yes it’s definitely a faint positive but we’ve had two chemicals before so trying to not be too happy.
You are doing well to not test early.
5dp5dt for us today. We have 11 blastocysts in the freezer and I also over responded for my egg collection. I have severe lean PCOS so was expected.
Do you have any symptoms? I’ve had quite a bit of cramping today, the odd bit of spotting, nausea and tender breasts.

OP posts:
Sj2505 · 09/09/2023 22:15

Yes my last was a chemical, it was awful. I got the faintest positive on 4dp5dt which got darker everyday for a few days, then 8dpt I noticed it was getting lighter.
I won't test until at least 10dpt I don't think. No symptoms at the moment, but I'm only 2dpt so im trying to look out for them yet (easier said than done haha)! I've had a few twinges and a couple of stronger ones, so I'm hoping that's the start of implantation.
Your symptoms sound really promising! Will you test again tomorrow?

IVFjourney23 · 10/09/2023 06:42

I completely understand. Chemicals are the worst. I’ve decided to test every morning as I would like to know before bloods what it is looking like. Already tested 😂 and it’s a much darker line this morning, then took another test which said 1-2 weeks. 🤞🏼 this is the time.
Hopefully it is implantation for you. I seem to be very symptomatic with everything on this journey. I have symptoms with chemical and when it doesn’t work at all.
Are you having bloods taken?

OP posts:
praying4babba · 10/09/2023 08:28

Hi ladies, i had to shoot a wedding yesterday. Yesterday morning I broke down so badly, had a good talk with the husband and a friend who has gone through it and I am not going to test again. I think it made it worse for me, at the end of the day the outcome can not be changed and I just have to try to be positive. So i will test on Thursday via bloods as I have to fly out to shoot a wedding on Friday morning. I think I will send the results to my husband lol @IVFjourney23 I am so cautiously excited for your positive! Well done! Praying that it is a viable pregnancy as gosh you def deserve a break. My boobs are not sore but I get twinges in them lol Still having cramps but no spotting. Yesterday on the way to the wedding we nearly had a bad accident. Some idiot didn't stop at a stop sign and thank goodness for good breaks. My uterus went into spasm and I had sharp pains, I thought maybe that is because something is there . OUR MINDS ladies lol Gosh , the mind is so powerful I tell you. We know what our little embaby is as they tell you here when they do PGTA testing. @Sj2505 I am so sorry to hear about your journey, gosh I have heard so much about OHSS and it scares me to be honest. How you feeling today? x

Sj2505 · 10/09/2023 08:46

Good morning!
@IVFjourney23 wow, that's incredible and very promising. I never got that with mine last cycle I just had BFPs on strip tests but not on the weeks indicator. I have all of my fingers crossed it carries on for you.
Can I ask when your chemicals have changed previously?
My clinics doesn't do the bloods as standard, we'd have to pay extra for them. This cycle I wanted my progesterone tested so I paid extra for that. Hopefully get the results on Monday.

@praying4babba so sorry you had a bad day yesterday, I'm pleased you were able to get some support from your husband and your friend.
I'm ok today, got a bit of a dull ache in my tummy this morning. Feels just like before I get AF. I know exactly what you mean about twingey boobs! I had a weird shooting pain in mine yesterday, from the nipple backwards. Didn't hurt too much but I couldn't definitely notice it.
How are you feeling today? Hopefully a bit better than yesterday

praying4babba · 10/09/2023 09:07

@Sj2505 Are you doing IVF through NHS? We are in Southern Africa and unfortunately we have to go private. Before transfer I had PROG blood check the day before and I also had Intralipid drip one week before. This is for immunity. Basically everything was thrown at this chance. My uterus is burning today, not sure if that is from the suppositories but it feels like it is on fire. I just want to say that we women go through A LOT!!! Today you are 3dpt? My transfer was midday Monday so I guess I am 6pt and going into 7 from midday lol I am not sure how it works entirely. My test day is next Friday. I1/12 days . @IVFjourney23 1+2 weeks is amazing !!! Woh I am still too scared to test!!!

Sj2505 · 10/09/2023 09:15

@praying4babba no we have gone private. My 8 year old was on the NHS, but in the UK once you have a child you are no longer eligible for NHS funding, so this whole one has been private.
I know that burning sensation you're talking about!! Do you have more embryos frozen?
My test day isn't until 20th which will be 13dpt, I am 3dpt today. I've not really gone on the times myself, otherwise mine wouldn't be until around 3pm 😆
Hopefully implantation should be starting today or tomorrow - ish!

praying4babba · 10/09/2023 09:40

Oh woh I didn't know that. We only had one PGTA normal from our retrieval so a lot of pressure on this one and me !! I asked for a conscious sedation for our implantation as I was so nervous I was worried I would start vomiting and my uterus would seize up and not let our embaby in 😂

Sj2505 · 10/09/2023 09:58

I think if this cycle didn't work I would look into having the remaining two embryos PGT tested before transfer, but I don't know how much it costs here.
Ah transfer was absolutely fine for me, although egg collection back in Feb was awful!! They wanted me to try without sedation, just strong IV pain relief, but I couldn't handle it the pain was so intense! They ended up giving me sedation in the end.
Do you know the grade of your embryo? Do they do that in South Africa?

praying4babba · 10/09/2023 10:37

Oh my gosh I have never heard of egg retrieval without sedation.

We don't have grading here in South Africa, well they have not told me anything. I just knew my blast were 8/10 cells then they sent them for testing!

Sj2505 · 10/09/2023 10:43

My IVF years ago with my son, I had sedation from the start so I don't even remember any of it. But I take a while to recover from sedation so they wanted to try without it first!! I'd never do that again.
My belly feels normal again now, I just had a bit of an upset stomach 😅

praying4babba · 10/09/2023 12:12

Gosh I am not surprised!!! That would have traumatized me! Glad you are feeling better now. So i found out I have been counting wrong and I am currently 6 dpt not 7dpt. Makes me feel a bit better about my neg on the 4dpt rather than 5dpt.
