@SallyLovelady How much prednisolone were you taking before transfer? My consultant plans for me to take steroids this time if I get a positive test next time. I have very low nk cells in endometrium and get treatment for that which worked last time and take steroids if pregnant.

SallyLovelady · 16/09/2023 15:08

@2021ivfagain

Before this transfer (of 2 blastocysts) I had 2 transfers using 5 embryos. In both I had 5mg predisonolone only. I also didn’t have clexane or intralipids.

This protocol has 10mg predisonolone, clexane and aspirin and had intralipids day of egg collection. Also an additional ultregestan tablet vaginally, up from 3 to 4x per day.

Also I used vaginal probiotics which I haven’t done before. I’m still using one every few days.

I guess it does make sense for you to introduce steroids with positive test - there must be good reasoning to double it for me at this stage. Have you ever tried introducing very low dose earlier in your cycle? What’s your NK cell activity? Mine’s 19.

SallyLovelady · 16/09/2023 15:10

Also for clarification I’d had other transfers in the UK but they before we started with a sperm donor and before I had any chicago tests to go on. Once I had the test results we had one more embryo left and it transferred in uk starting with 20mg predisonolone.

SallyLovelady · 16/09/2023 15:28

Oh also I should mention I had acupuncture with the anaesthetist immediately before /after the ET. I’ve never done that either.

Difficult to pin point these things isn’t it, but I definitely did some things differently this time round and - for whatever reason - it got me a BFP for first time :)

thislittlebird · 16/09/2023 18:10

Me too 😬😬😬😬😬😬😬

except it’s my second, but that didn’t go well 🫠

ok so it’s a very faint line tbh, like example A on the cleat blue positive examples list. But I went for a wee before we left the beach, did a 1.5 hour journey home and needed to go again but decided to hold and try. Held for 2.5 hours and it looks like this (TRIGGER WARNING for anyone who doesn’t want to see a test)…

It was a very, very pale urine sample and in no way am I reassured or confident because my light lines turned into a chemical a week later before, but I felt like it had possibly worked when I started getting these palpitations a couple of days ago and excessive hunger from 2dp5dt. I’ll be 9dp5dt tomorrow, will test again in the morning to see if it’s darker.

thislittlebird · 16/09/2023 18:18

@SallyLovelady i was supposed to be replying to you but failed lol

Gardenlady543 · 16/09/2023 18:34

This is good news @thislittlebird ! Do you have any different brands of tests? Could you get a pink line one to do with first morning urine tomorrow?

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 16/09/2023 18:38

@Gardenlady543 I only have one of those packs of cheapies, pink ones, I can dip those and the clear blue tomorrow. Tbh I didn't order FRER because I never got positives on them and the rest of the world did, so I ordered CB and then just now looked for FRER and amazon can't deliver them anyway.

I'm tentative about it, been here before so will see. The only thing I will say is this time we know the embryo is euploid, the exact same hunger/nausea symptoms started earlier than the chemical (4dp vs 2dp) and new symptoms have developed the last couple of days so I am really hoping it's a good sign.

Should I drink lots of water before bed or not? Not sure what the best course of action is. Don't want to get up in the night to go or too early.

Gardenlady543 · 16/09/2023 18:44

@thislittlebird drink however much your body is telling you drink. Did you do this test in the middle of the day then?

The best cheapies on Amazon are Wondfo. FRER keeps going in and out of availability but I hear Boots pink line early test is a good alternative.

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 16/09/2023 18:48

@Gardenlady543 yeah I did it at 6pm, I'd drank a fair bit of water when we were out at the beach today (again, we're making the most of late summer!) and used the loo before we left, so this was 2.5 hours after we departed the car park so I knew it would be weak urine sample but it came up straight away.

Wondfo are the ones I have, actually, I'll try one tomorrow. I'm so scarred by tests.

Gardenlady543 · 16/09/2023 18:55

@thislittlebird fingers crossed for a nice line tomorrow am :)

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 16/09/2023 18:56

@Gardenlady543 I hope so, all I'd like to see is a decent line

Gardenlady543 · 16/09/2023 19:06

@thislittlebird I've put my Wondfo lines up so you can see how they looked here, imgur.com/a/vIYgxoB it shows what diluted urine can do, 8dp5dt my line was much lighter than 7 and 9 but my beta was fine, so try not to get too focused on the result.

thislittlebird · 16/09/2023 19:37

@Gardenlady543 thanks, that's useful to see

SallyLovelady · 16/09/2023 20:40

@thislittlebird this is fantastic!!! Thinking of you and hoping for all the luck for us.
Got bloods back from today it’s day 12dp5dt and I have hcg of nmol/L 253. This has never happened to me so I’m hoping things process well and trying to keep calm and carry on … 😬😬

thislittlebird · 16/09/2023 20:43

Great news @SallyLovelady! Did you have this test pre-scheduled? I have to alert my clinic when I test again tomorrow at 9dp5dt and I'll request a HCG test this week.

SallyLovelady · 16/09/2023 20:49

I hadn’t scheduled - I didn’t think I’d get to this point - so I phoned around and found a clinic that does same day testing. There’s a man there who’s done IVF who was really sympathetic and pushed to get me in. Kept talking to me about how tough it is and I was trying not to cry as he was taking my blood 🤦🏻‍♀️
Will you go to the clinic you’ve been using for it?

thislittlebird · 17/09/2023 05:38

@SallyLovelady oh good, glad they did it for you quickly.

I will go to my clinic, yeah, they’re a big one so they do a lot of stuff. Need to email them this morning to tell them it’s positive and request more meds.

TW again in case mumsnet shows a preview of my link

@Gardenlady543 i took my tests at 5am, i couldn’t sleep. I think they look better, link here: https://imgur.com/a/CvNz41M

@thislittlebird I had no idea there is a Imgur preview.

Sorry if anything I've posted has previewed, I've been using Imgur specifically for the reason of not showing images in the thread.

thislittlebird · 17/09/2023 06:26

@Gardenlady543 yeah, going to email Lister today and ask for a couple this week because the chemical went on for a week or two so it would be nice to know what way things are going. Thanks for the link, I don't really feel like it's worked and I've barely reacted because it's so early but will tentatively join. Last time I joined a similar thread I immediately had a chemical so might just keep my head down and see what happens.

Gardenlady543 · 17/09/2023 06:31

@thislittlebird what were your chemical lines like, mine were incredibly faint and they progressed only slightly each day until 10dp then got lighter, they only really looked like real lines when they dried. Remember to compare lines you need to take a picture of the test at the time it says to look at it and compare photographs.

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 17/09/2023 06:37

@Gardenlady543 I took my photos at 3-5 minutes after taking it, as instructed, but my chemical ones are hard to recall. I don't test daily, but I do remember my first clearblue line was very thin.

Gardenlady543 · 17/09/2023 06:43

@thislittlebird there is a Reddit called TFABLinePorn and there are many examples of chemicals there, the lines always seem to be light for the day of the test and they don't progress and get darker as they should. In those cases I've seen three people have success but the rest end up being chemicals. Your lines are as expected for the time post transfer, if not darker than expected which is a good thing. Like you never know what will happen with this stuff, but I'd say you're in the best possible situation you could be in for the time you're at.
