If you had any experience with this please share, especially if it lead to successful pregnancy. Looking into this route as heard promising things about PRP in particular. If you did this with a clinic in the UK, where was it and how was your experience. Thank you 🙏

Hi there
Will be watching this topic, I've only heard of IVI Spain doing this. How did you hear about it?

Chickencrazy3356 · 29/05/2023 21:21

I’m interested too ! My consultant said it’s something we could look into but I’d have to go to Spain for the treatment

Summerishere83 · 30/05/2023 18:07

Hi @Chickencrazy3356 it's interesting to hear your consultant suggested it - what clinic are you with?
I only came across it while browsing and contacted IVI who are in Spain but also have a clinic in London (very low success rates btw) and they said there's eligibility assessment and consultation at first.
I'm already with Create doing a 3 cycle package but if that fails I guess I'd want to look into ovarian rejuvenation before resorting to donor eggs.

Hello to everyone who’s joined 🙂

I heard from someone on another thread that Dr Gorgy’s clinic in London has offered it, so maybe the only clinic in the country that does it?
https://www.fertility-academy.co.uk/

I cannot find anything on their website about it so I’m going to give them a call sometime this week to enquiry. I’ll let you know what they say.

Hello @clhiu
How have you been? Have you managed to find out more about the procedure?

clhiu · 12/06/2023 08:43

Good morning @Summerishere83.
Apologies for the delay in updating this thread.

Yes, I contacted the Fertility Academy in London and they confirmed they offer it, although they wouldn’t give me any information about pricing without an initial consultation. Consultations with Dr Gorgy cost £260 and can be in person or video call. Someone on a different thread I’m on is paying £1,800 for it, but it’s alongside other treatments so difficult to know the price based on individual cases.

They confirmed there is no upper age limit to qualify for the procedure although it works better with younger patients (surprise! 😏) and that it can be offered as a treatment in isolation even if you don’t do IVF or any other procedures with that clinic specifically.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you decide to contact them

Hello @clhiu
Many thanks for the update!

Are you planning to do it? Is that clinic able to provide any statistics? It's a lot of money on top of everything else..

It is however something to consider for myself, I'm currently just trying to prepare for the last IVF cycle in August by taking DHEA 2x25mg and improving diet I guess.

Tillybabs · 26/08/2023 12:14

Hi I’ve had two uterine PRP treatments this week and won’t know if it has helped yet but they cost me £800 per session and £260 consultation fee with Dr Gorgy

Summerishere83 · 26/08/2023 12:52

Hi @Tillybabs thanks for the information! Hope it works for you🤞🤞🤞 it's costly but at least you can do it as a standalone treatment it seems and you don't have to go abroad.
Did the doctor share any statistics on this treatment?

amberpatch · 01/11/2023 21:29

Hi @Tillybabs

Ive just come across this topic so I am sorry for jumping in late!
I had the prp procedure done recently in London also, I wondered how you found it and if it has helped at all? Are you a patient of Dr Gorgy or was the it a stand alone treatment?

Tillybabs · 01/11/2023 21:37

@amberpatch Hi I’m not sure it helped tbh. It might have because my lining was thicker than usual but not trilaminar and my transfer failed.

I had it as a standalone treatment and am not a patient of his.

amberpatch · 01/11/2023 21:45

@Tillybabs Thank you for the quick response, that's disappointing, I'm sorry to hear that. Ive been advised to have another round of PRP but not sure, particularly at my age ( 43 ) I haven't really found the clinic that supportive but I think that's a common thing. Good Luck with your journey

ttcsince2017 · 01/11/2023 23:27

@Tillybabs have you had ovarian prp too?

Tillybabs · 01/11/2023 23:56

@ttcsince2017 no uterine prp. @amberpatch the problem is it is experimental so it’s a risk you take as to whether it works or not. It doesn’t work for some. At £1800 for two sessions it’s not cheap :-(. I think it helped my lining thicken a little but the transfer didn’t work. I’m going to try one more transfer but not having PRP again.

amberpatch · 03/11/2023 10:45

@Tillybabs yes, I agree, after looking into having it done abroad I was so surprised to come across the fertility clinic offering it here. It is expensive and I have been advised to have another round to really see if it has helped, in fairness the Dr was very honest in saying I probably don't have a great chance so I have gone into it with a very realistic expectation and just some hopeful optimism shall we say!
It is very early to know if this new treatment could really work, hopefully it will give options to some younger patients if not older ones like myself but there are always miricles along the way!
I have an appointment next week so hoping to see if there's been any improvement, I will probably do another round and then if it hasn't helped shall have to truly end this journey.

Tillybabs · 03/11/2023 10:55

@amberpatch Im 42 so in the geriatric bracket for pregnancy haha. But yes it’s worth a try that’s why I did it. It may well help for the next round.

amberpatch · 03/11/2023 10:58

Its unfair how we can look or feel young @Tillybabs but our biological clock says different! wishing you good luck. x

Suzy82a · 05/01/2024 16:21

Hello Everyone @clhiu @Tillybabs @amberpatch I am also going through the assessment of wether or not to go through the treatment. I am 41 years old, getting close to 42. I've consulted with IVI.ES which seems like a reputable clinic but a few things in the process make me question, such as the little human touch with the clinic, overall communications etc.. it seems a little cryptic. Also, the treatment they offered me is ASCOT-1 but I didn't do any tests with them before which worries me. It costs circa EUR 5K! It includes:
Drugs Administration ASCOT-1
Hemogram
Sampling ASCOT-1
Ovarian punture/Administration of enriched plasma for ASCOT-1 Ultrasound scan not part of the cycle
Oestradiol (p/u) = unlimited
FSH = unlimited
Anti-Müllerian hormone = unlimited
Hematology Follow-up Pack during Assisted Reproduction treatment Includes:
· Consultation = unlimited
· Consultation on Skype/the telephone = unlimited

If anybody would like to exchange info here or via a call I am happy to do so.
Good luck to everyone!

Hi all, I have had 2 ovarian prp’s done with our clinic in northern Cyprus. I was told by a previous clinic that due to my amh being incredibly low (0.08) that it was unlikely that we’d get an egg - they did an egg retrieval and they were not able to get a single egg. So moving to the new clinic, they told me about prp and 3 months later we did our first egg retrieval and got 2 eggs, both fertilised and both got to high grade day 5 blasts. We did another round of egg retrieval and got another one too. So 3 embryos when I was told we wouldn’t have any. We are doing the FET in 2 weeks, just in a clinic now about to have a scratch done, so thought I would share that although I can’t say yet that I’m pregnant yet, I am under no illusion that it is the prp that has been the reason why,

Meadow3 · 05/05/2024 16:54

Hi, I hope you got a positive result? I am in a similar situation, very low AMH and have been recommended PRP. I haven't had IVF yet but I think rather than go for one round with minimal chance of success, I should do PRP to maximise chances. May I ask how much you paid for it?

Suzy82a · 05/05/2024 23:48

Sure! I am 42 years old. I paid €2.5K for my first PRP. I got a positive one month after treatment but then a negative subsequently (yesterday)… so let’s see how it goes in the next few days. At the very least it seems it has already stimulated the ovulation. I have poor ovarian reserve, less than 3% chances given by doctors. Some said 0% chance. So let’s see! fingers crossed!

I think you could try IVF first before PRP!

Best Wishes!
Suzy

Meadow3 · 07/05/2024 10:08

Thanks Suzy for that info, yes I am thinking given the cost of PRP, would I be better off having one round of IVF first. I have been advised to try a clinic in Greece as they advocate 'light IVF' where they aren't as focused on the number of eggs retrieved (I have a low ovarian reserve also so my initial concern was that IVF might not work). It's a minefield!!!
Anyway best of luck, I really hope the next round is a success for you.
Ali

Mic11 · 15/08/2024 13:17

@DawnRP Just read your message above about Ovarian PRP in North Cyprus - would you be able to share which clinic you used? thanks in advance

SulaBa85 · 18/08/2024 22:11

There is no real evidence for PRP. Don't waste your money on this.
We did and I'm still salty about it. I wish I actually checked the evidence behind it before just going with it. It made me switch clinic.

My current clinic was very honest and said they stopped offering it when they observed it made no tangible difference to the percentage of successfull live births.

over40ppp · 18/09/2024 18:48

I have seen that the statistics of success are 10% but I feel every % counts
