@LouScot @LT103 Thanks so much. I am so delighted, was really expecting another negative. Took a home test this morning as I wanted to see it myself and its a complete dye stealer. Just going to take it day by day now.

itsmschanandlerbong · 30/07/2023 20:05

@Kamiros HUGE congratulations!!! So happy for you! Dye stealer at this stage is SUCH a good sign too.

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing well!
last time I posted we had a home sperm test telling us my husbands sperm count was low, so we have been attending a fertility clinic. Turns out his sperm was healthy going by their test. We’ve been through the general tests at the clinic now and have our appointment with the consultant on Thursday to go through his in-depth sperm analysis and my day 21 blood tests results. Are there any specific questions I should be asking to get the most out of the appointment ? Anything anyone found useful knowing or wish they’d known earlier on? If I’m honest I don’t even know if I’m going to find it worse being told there’s nothing wrong because the potential disappointment continuing month after month with no answers is a lot and the thought of having to try for another year before even being considered for IVF is making me feel like the dream is so far out of reach. Sorry for the babbling and I know we haven’t even experienced half of what others are going through… we haven’t told anyone we’ve been trying so it’s just been a lonely year with little outlet!

IVFlife · 31/07/2023 23:55

@Nosejug we are in same position of now looking at donor. Have had failed OE IVF at GCRM and are on waiting list to be seen at royal (was previously seen by them in 2019) and on DE wait list with GCRM but it is 2 years.

So after 8 rounds of IVF and 6 transfers......I finally got my BFP. I can't stop crying. Beta was 248 so looks ok. I know there is a long way to go and things can still go wrong but today I am very happy. Have a fab weekend all.......there is always hope xx

This is fantastic to read. Amazing. xx

Kamiros · 03/08/2023 22:58

So unfortunately I've started bleeding tonight, cramps too. Absolutely devastated. Have to go in to EPU for another beta in the morning but I'm not hopeful.

Thinking of you and really hoping for good news. Take care x

Kamiros · 04/08/2023 11:19

Thank you. So hcg is 4000 so still hanging on in there. Bleeding has stopped. Could still go that way but looking OK at the moment. I've to get a scan next week.

Nosejug · 04/08/2023 11:39

Thinking all the best thoughts for you @Kamiros . You so deserve (we all deserve!) this to be a happy healthy pregnancy. Hopefully just a blip x

Ellenn · 04/08/2023 13:47

@Kamiros that much be so worrying, it sounds like it’s super common during early pregnancy to bleed but I know myself after my last miscarriages I would be really triggered and expecting the worst. That is an amazing level thought of hcg! I really hope you don’t have more scares xx

LouScot · 04/08/2023 14:22

@Kamiros sorry you've had this scare but hopefully it's nothing serious. Great that your HCG is good, hopefully all will be well at next week's scan.

Kamiros · 04/08/2023 14:41

Thanks everyone. Hopefully all goes OK but I definitely can't relax yet. Just trying to take the positive. It does seem very common, especially in IVF pregnancies, but definitely not something you want to see.

LT103 · 04/08/2023 15:35

@Kamiros glad bloods were ok and bleeding has stopped. It is definitely common but must be such a worry.
I had a bleed at around 10 weeks and couldn’t get scan because it was the weekend so booked a private one. Hope your scan brings good news next week and that bleeding stays away

Kamiros · 08/08/2023 01:57

So after a few days of thinking it might be ok I've woken up in the night with a really heavy bleeding, no clots but quite a bit of cramping. EPU have just said to monitor it but it can't possibly be ok now.... I don't think I can keep doing this.

LT103 · 08/08/2023 05:12

Oh @Kamiros what a worry. How far along are you now? When is your scan? Could you get it done sooner or private if EPU wont scan you just now? It could still be nothing. Keeping everything crossed for you

Kamiros · 08/08/2023 06:25

@LT103 I would be 6 weeks tomorrow. Scan is Thursday. They told me just to monitor during the night and call back today which I will. Bleeding has lessened but still like a period so I really don't think it's going to be ok sadly.

Ellenn · 08/08/2023 06:31

@Kamiros so sorry to hear 😢 I really hope the embryo is hanging in there. Definitely phone back EPU they gave me a scan at 6 weeks, especially if you still have bleeding. And hopefully it will be earlier than Thursday so you know what’s going on xx

Kamiros · 08/08/2023 06:44

@Ellenn Thank you. I hope so but can't see how. No clots but I wonder if the progesterone injections have any role in holding things back- I'm on a really high dose.

Kamiros · 08/08/2023 06:46

Just occurred to me that the heparin might be preventing any clots...maybe not a good sign at all then.

Ellenn · 08/08/2023 07:36

@Kamiros i really hope you manage to get a scan and see what’s going on soon. I remember this was the most awful thing at my last transfer, I would rather just know. Do keep phoning EPU, I think sometimes you can get a haematoma that can cause bleeding. Could you phone your clinic to ask if they would do a scan earlier? Usually you can see a heart beat at 6 weeks if all ok xxx

Kamiros · 08/08/2023 07:39

@Ellenn Thanks, it really is the worst. Because I used IVF Spain and didn't pay GCRM a collaboration fee this round they are refusing to scan me at all. I'm going to call EPU again in an hour and see if they'll take me in sooner. If its what I think it is I really just want off the meds to let things happen.

Nosejug · 08/08/2023 08:23

@Kamiros I really hope it's not what you think it is. There is some hope left there, I've read on other chats of early heavy bleeding that turned out to be ok. But I can understand not wanting to give space to hope when you've already been through so much. Sounds like you've had an awful night. Hope you get the scan and answers asap. Will be thinking of you.

Kamiros · 08/08/2023 08:51

@Nosejug Thank you.

EPU won't see me until Thursday. Woman was pretty unhelpful though I understand they're busy. Because I had IVF in Spain she wouldn't even comment on whether the meds would stop a miscarriage from properly passing which is what I'm most worried about now. Bleeding has pretty much stopped so I'm very confused. Going to be a long couple of days.

LT103 · 08/08/2023 09:42

I ended up paying for a private scan in glasgow one of the times. Just one of the scan places not fertility clinic but I know they’re not as good. Window to the womb in hamilton were amazing. I used one on Ingram street when I had bleed and they were lovely with me when I was a mess. But not sure how good they’ll be for this early on

Kamiros · 08/08/2023 09:59

@LT103 Thanks, I'll have a look.
