Hello. How are we all doing this week?

I started my withdrawl bleed form ivf meds yesterday and goodness it's painful this evening. I'm glad in away that the lining is properly coming away but it's quite sore and full on.

Clinic said we can go ahead with new cycle and start again with meds again tomorrow. What a roller coaster ride!! Lining scan is 11th March.

StuffLoriThangs · 27/02/2024 20:01

Hey @IVFlife
ive had better days. My bmi is just ever so slightly too high for them to proceed with a FET for me just now. So I’m just fed up with waiting.

IVFlife · 27/02/2024 20:40

@StuffLoriThangs aaaah that's hard. How much do you need to lose to get there?

My bmi is 31 so I know I would be in same situation with NHS. I'm trying to slowly drop mine even though we are with a private clinic. How are you getting on? I totally gwt how hard it is.

StuffLoriThangs · 28/02/2024 06:17

@IVFlife not much. A few pounds really. So just need it off and to stay off

IVFlife · 28/02/2024 06:34

Oooh so close then. That's good.

Are you able to start as soon as you hit it?

I know this isn't really recommended but I was told after Christmas I would be re weighed before my frozen transfer and I massively panicked as I had put on about 6lb over Christmas!! I done a very low calorie low carb diet for they 2 weeks and managed to get the weight off! Not going to lie it was absolutely misery for 2 weeks but it done the trick! (Ps the 6lb was put back on over that weekend haha!!)

That’s what I’m a bit cross about. I was perfect when I phoned them but my appointment was 3 weeks after and I had other life stuff. So boom. Weight on.

yeah @Babeglas i think I might just cope with being miserable for a few weeks so I can get the weight off.

2mumlife · 28/02/2024 11:58

@IVFlife Sorry to hear the bleed is sore. Wow seems really fast to have go ahead to jump straight back on the meds. Does that mean they've been able to match you with a different donor? Hope this time there as at least less anxiety about lining scan, and just hope the defrost goes better this time for you.

@StuffLoriThangs That's so frustrating :(

Things are going better here. We've had a spate of illness that made morning sickness worse and also I started taking anti-heartburn meds as I started wondering if it was actually heartburn causing the worst of the vomity symptoms. Been feeling better and functioning much better now. Have my booking in appointment on Monday and then 12 weeks scan 4 weeks after that. First trimester seems to be going on for forever. Quite tempted to have a private reassurance scan, but we'll see.

@Ellenn @Eiremogra how you both getting on?

Ellenn · 28/02/2024 12:09

@2mumlife good to hear you are feeling a bit better! You definitely seem to have strong symptoms hopefully that’s a good thing! Did you have a scan at 6 wks?

totally get the slow drag it feels like time is going so slow atm for me too. I have another scan tomorrow at EPU where I’m hoping heartbeat is still going strong and it’s caught up or I suppose we might find out it’s not progressing as it should 🙄 just trying not to think about it. Definitely feeling pretty sick first thing in morning and my partner had to bring me toast in bed this morning as felt horrible. It doesn’t seem to last throughout day though. I think my head is focusing on it being negative which I know it could go either way right now but it’s hard staying positive!

2mumlife · 28/02/2024 12:16

@Ellenn Yeah had my early scan at the clinic at 6+5 and should be 8 weeks today. Hope everything goes reassuringly with EPU tomorrow. I know trying to stay positive must be hard, but you've made it this far, and symptoms are good x

Eiremogra · 28/02/2024 20:17

Best of luck tomorrow @Ellenn - crossing fingers and toes for you!!
Im feeling fine @2mumlife - I had some terrible heartburn week 5-6, but it was short lived and as I have a history of it I always manage to get a repeat prescription for peptac and omeprazole from my Gp. I was so grateful for it! I’ve had some very slight nausea which passes quickly (been trying to ‘breath through it’). My main symptom at this stage is really painful breasts..waking up throughout the night and screaming at OH if he comes near me! 😂

Ellenn · 29/02/2024 11:34

@Eiremogra @2mumlife thanks guys! Looks like had a bit of a growth spurt and heart still beating away! Still measuring 2 days behind but no concerns otherwise and the growth isn’t getting slower so hopefully that’s a good sign 🤞 managed to get them to give me another scan in 2 wks time and I might register with the midwife. Has everyone done this already?

how is everyone doing? Hope you nausea/sickness isn’t too bad now you have medication @2mumlife x

Eiremogra · 29/02/2024 11:41

That’s such reassuring news @Ellenn! You must be pleased and having another scan in 2 weeks is a great plan. I was measuring 1 day behind and the doctor didn’t seem bothered at all. Love that your little one had a growth spurt! 💕 I registered with the midwife about 2 weeks ago…I really didn’t know what I was doing and didn’t realise we are supposed to self refer via an online referral form thing. I have my first ‘near me’ appointment 12th March. Xx

2mumlife · 29/02/2024 13:33

@Eiremogra Pregnancy heartburn is awful. I've never had heartburn until pregnancy and its actually being back on the omeprazole which is helping me not feel so nauseous. I really don't want to be on it the whole time so I'm hoping everything will ease off in the second trimester. I can't stand peptac or any of those types of things, its something to do with the texture - I tried some last time I was pregnant and immediately threw up all over the kitchen counters 😂

@Ellenn Glad everything is look good! How far along are you now? I'd say get on with registered with the midwife :)

Ellenn · 29/02/2024 17:10

@Eiremogra thats great! Did you get a date for scan too? Mine is actually booked in for when I’d be 13+4 🙄 probably my fault for not registering until now!

@2mumlife im technically 7+4 although measuring 7+2 wks so think that’s what they go by? They said to me it might change too 🤷‍♀️so who knows! Got all my first midwife appointment ended up being for 2 wks time!

is everyone so tired when you get to the evening? I feel absolutely exhausted after working all day. Just had a session of reflexology though which was super relaxing! Does anyone else do it? I would highly recommend!

Eiremogra · 29/02/2024 17:25

We’re so close in dates @Ellenn , I’m 7+1 today. Midwife scan booked for 2nd April so I’ll be 11+6…really don’t think I’ll be able to wait until then before getting a scan again. Will look into getting another private scan maybe at week 9-10. I am absolutely shattered today. Not working today and had planned a busy day today, haven’t moved all day!!! I feel completely drained! What supplements/vitamins are you all taking?! I’m just taking folic acid but I definitely need a ‘pick me up’!x

2mumlife · 29/02/2024 19:17

@ellen they’ll give you a new due date based on measurements at 12 week scan (it gets really confusing). I mentally just kept following my ivf due date last time though.

@Eiremogra My scan is also on the 2nd April :) I’ll be 12+6.

Totally exhausted here. Don’t recommend adding in a toddler to pregnancy exhaustion 😂 partner is having to do a lot at the moment. I take the pregnecare prenatal vitamins - I’d suggest taking something with your B vits for energy and iron because foetus is going going to steal all your ferritin stores and you don’t want to end up anaemic if you can avoid it x

2mumlife · 29/02/2024 19:22

@Eiremogra Just make sure you avoid anything that has any vit A that’s not beta carotene, because too high vit A from wrong sources is bad for foetus :)

IVFlife · 03/03/2024 13:17

Hello. How are we all this weekend?

2mumlife · 06/03/2024 10:08

@IVFlife Doing well here. Had my booking in appointment on Monday. Felt a bit like a exhibit again (they don't get a lot of IVF pregnancies in my area, so my midwife was very overexcited and nosy). How you doing?

How is everyone else getting on?

StuffLoriThangs · 06/03/2024 10:16

Hi all
im just plodding on, trying to get my bmi down. Feeling like a failure. Feeling like all I do is wait.

ivf24 · 06/03/2024 19:53

All good here. Day 1 of my cycle today so I’ve started on Progynova and got my date for first monitoring scan. 🤞🏼this is our round. Hope everyone else is ok.

2mumlife · 07/03/2024 09:17

@StuffLoriThangs Sorry things are feeling like there keeps being hurdles to overcome :( hopefully you can get started soon.

@ivf24 Congrats on day 1! Wishing you a smooth cycle x

IVFlife · 09/03/2024 17:03

@ivf24 oooh that is exciting. when is your monitoring scan?

@2mumlife hope you are doing ok when is your next appt>

@StuffLoriThangs hopefully not too long - sounded like you were very close?

We have got our lining check on Monday - last cycle our lining was good to go at that check so hoping same this time and am hoping this time next week we have a good number of embryos and are prepping for transfer or even have just had transfer!

I have very sensitive boobs the last couple of days. Still on 6mg estrodoil a day, due to start taking progesterone on the day they thaw the embryos.

IVFlife · 09/03/2024 17:04

oops I meant thaw the donor eggs and make embryos not thaw the embryos
