Thinking of you @seven201 ❤️ my epu did the tablet insertion for me. They might offer that for you. I was then allowed home and it took about 8 hours until I passed him. Xx

Janefx40 · 11/07/2022 23:13

Love to you this evening @seven201 thinking of you xxxx

Sending you love and strength @seven201 I’m so sorry to read your update this morning 😔💛

seven201 · 12/07/2022 09:22

Thank you all wonderful women

seven201 · 12/07/2022 10:29

I'm at the EPU and the sonographer says that since it's measuring at under 7mm they can't class it as a miscarriage until they scan me again next week, so don't think they'll give me the tablets. Waiting to see a doctor. It's very annoying!

seven201 · 12/07/2022 10:30

I'm also listening to a woman in labour

VenusStarr · 12/07/2022 11:29

Oh god @seven201 I had this before. My epu made me wait nearly 2 weeks.

Can your ivf clinic write a letter to confirm they saw fetal heartbeat and now you've had a scan with epu to confirm the heartbeat has stopped?

I'm sorry it's prolonging the waiting ❤️ xx

seven201 · 12/07/2022 11:31

@VenusStarr oh that is awful. Sorry you had to do that.

I did mention that to the sonographer, but she said it would be up to the doctor. I then saw the doctor for 2 mins then he was called away. Been here 1 1/2 hrs now and getting grumpy!

VenusStarr · 12/07/2022 11:40

I'm not surprised you are @seven201 epu is not a nice place to be when you're going through a loss ❤️ I've found some of the nurses are more sympathetic than others, particularly when you've had multiple losses. With my 4th, I'd been scanned at a different epu and they'd confirmed the miscarriage but just sent me away. So the new epu originally were going to make me wait but a nice nurse said that was ridiculous and managed to get the reports from the rubbish epu, so they were able to treat me.

I hope you can see the doctor soon. Do you have any signs that the miscarriage might be starting? X

seven201 · 12/07/2022 12:26

No, no bleeding or cramping yet. I've got an appointment for next Monday where they'll give me the tablets if it hasn't happened by then.

I also managed to convince him to give me the pot to collect the sample and he said I could bring it in to send to histology. Do you think they'll tests for as much as at CRP? Would save money obviously.

VenusStarr · 12/07/2022 12:33

Histology is where they check for anything sinister and they should then send over to cytogenetics for chromosomes. The histology report is quite quick to come back but you need the chromosomal check which can take up to 12 weeks (mine took 11 this time).

My epu gave me the consent paperwork with the tub, it needs to be included when you hand over the pot and checked. It goes through what you want them to do with the remains once testing is completed (you can have a service etc if you would like). Do not hand it over unless you have signed and got a copy of the consent form @seven201

I'm glad you're not waiting too long for a follow up x

VenusStarr · 12/07/2022 12:38

@seven201 you should have a form like this. The nurse sat with us and checked we understood what we were consenting to. The cells they test will be on your records x

@seven201 I'm sorry it's such a trial. Remember you always have the option of CRP if you want it.

The EPU often make women wait a week I'm afraid which is frustrating. Also do check that they will test the embryo. They told me they would and then said they wouldn't because it wasn't my third (I already knew that was the rule but they had said they would!!!).

Personally I would get CRP to test unless you are sure the EPU will do it

Sorry about the woman in labour.

Sending love. Xxx

@VenusStarr and @Janefx40 thank you both. He literally just gave me the pot and said to bring it back to the epu and only mentioned histology. That makes me think maybe they wouldn't test for enough then and I wouldn't trust it to definitely be tested. He was surprised when I asked if I could collect it myself and if they'd test it - like no one had ever asked before. Might be safest sending it off in the package CRP gave me then.

Janefx40 · 12/07/2022 16:10

@seven201 sounds like a good decision x

It does seem like crp would be safer @seven201 I think the results come back in 4 weeks too.
I hope you're OK ❤️

Gardenlady543 · 12/07/2022 18:30

Sounds like a stressful day @seven201 well done for making it through. Sorry to hear about the proximity to the labour area, that's awful. When I was in Coventry for the biopsies last year it was next to a clinic that must have been for multiple pregnancies because the women walking out were the heaviest pregnant people I'd ever seen. It was horrible, I had to sit there for so long watching them going in and out.

It sounds like you have a plan to collect for testing which is good. I think it's worth doing.

I had the call today that the biopsy now can't be first thing on Tuesday. I was so shocked I said I needed to call back and I was so frustrated when I did, it was all booked in and confirmed. I'd changed around my work and made travel plans. They gave me one alternative Monday afternoon (when I'm at work with a clinic full of patients who I really don't want to mess around), I said I could try and get to them for 6pm and they said they'd need to check. Then they said I could have it on Friday although I'm pretty sure the doctor had said it had to be Monday to Thursday, so I called the lab but they weren't sure and said call back tomorrow. Meanwhile there aren't enough donors for the LIT on Tuesday so I don't know if that's going ahead then or not.

I also repeated TFT, my TSH is now 0.56 which seems to have come down quite low, my thyroglobulin antibodies have more than halved down to 200, no idea if this is just a fluke but can't be a bad thing, the normal range is <115. I also got my KIR results which I don't really understand, I'm Bx which I understand is a good thing to me as AA needs treatment.

Janefx40 · 12/07/2022 21:35

@Gardenlady543 that's so shit about your biopsy appointment. Have you heard back yet about Monday evening? Really hope they can sort for you. Afraid I know nothing about those results but hope it's good news as you say x

seven201 · 13/07/2022 10:22

@Gardenlady543 oh how totally annoying!!! I'd be so upset. Good luck with trying to get it all sorted. It feels impossible sometimes.

No new developments from me.

Janefx40 · 13/07/2022 10:46

@seven201 are you ok? Are you off work at all?

OP posts:
seven201 · 13/07/2022 11:04

@Janefx40 I'm ok. I'm off today but might go back tomorrow. I had told work I wouldn't be in all week, but it might be off most of need next week instead. Depends if things start happening. Yesterday I was at the hospital for ages and the rest of the day I was writing my tutor reports until 10pm, so haven't had time to process stuff yet. So going to do some cathartic DIY today. I've had a rumbly tummy, but that's probably all the biscuits I've been shovelling down.

How are you doing?

Janefx40 · 13/07/2022 12:46

@seven201 you may need both weeks off to be honest. When I had my loss I was off for 2 weeks afterwards. There was no way I could work. DIY sounds productive.

I'm fine yes. Have an unusual day to myself and just spend 2 hours on hold to the doctors and then got cut off when I was number 1 in the queue!!!

Gosh I'm sending you such a big hug @seven201 how long have you got until school breaks up for summer?

I feel like a collective scream is in order.

Another eventful day for me, I had the surgeon appointment, broke down in tears on the phone just recalling everything that's happened, he was lovely about it. He can't do the operation but has told me who to go to instead and I've got a consultation booked in for a weeks time and pencilled in surgery on 24th august. Initially they said I had to wait for todays surgeon to refer but I was advised to say I'm a doctor and that meant they booked me in. So at least I don't need to wait long. Todays surgeon said expect a 3 month recovery time from the date of surgery so I don't know if I need to postpone LIT. I had planned to update my fertility specialist today after knowing what's happening with surgery but may as well wait a week for the next consultation. Todays surgeon said the priority in my treatment is to get the fibroids out, he said it could be causing the thinner lining I've had as the lining is stretched over the fibroid that is 50% in my uterus and it could be effecting the blood supply. He said once they open me up they will likely find other fibroids that need to come out too.

I have the biopsy now confirmed for Friday, I don't know if I should postpone lit, lit takes 3 months and I need to coordinate this with recover time, but that will vary dependent on the operation I need.

Sorry to make this all about what's happening in me when you're going through such a shit time @seven201

Collective scream now please...

seven201 · 13/07/2022 13:49

I will join in with the scream.
Agggghhhhhjhjhhhhhhhhhhhhjhjhjjjjjjjjhhhhhhhhj [insert lots of swear words]

Sorry you've had that news @Gardenlady543 . So does the LIT only work for a certain timeframe? Maybe it is worth delaying that a bit then. Being infertile definitely is like having a second job!

Two of my windowsills now have a new lick of paint. About to sand the third! Might attack my shower grout with some bleach in a bit.

seven201 · 13/07/2022 13:52

Also emailed CRP to see if they'll give me a Hydroxychloroquine prescription. Dr Edge said Dr S might add that to my treatment plan and I've read you have to take it for 6 weeks before you can ttc. So hoping to get it sooner rather than later, as my appt isn't until 8th august.
