Hi ladies after 10 miscarriages all unexplained after trying everything I decided to take part in the cerm trial with Prof quenby so they was testing my nkc and for endometris not to be mistaken for endometriosis basically I have chronic inflammation of the womb.. So I went for a biopsy which I may add was veryyyy painful I was in pain for 2 weeks after I got the results back and I'm positive for endometris and there trialing if doxycylene a antibiotic works and there have been success stories in between the biopsy and my results I had a kidney infection which required antibiotics clinic called me to collect the meds which would of either been placebo or the real drugs doxycylene however as I had some they said I would need to start the trail all over again as I had taken antibiotics (sigh) so I decided to opt out as I diddent want to go through yet another 2 very painful biopsies with not even knowing of I was getting the real drugs after some digging I decided as I knew what the antibiotics were I got them from Lloyd's pharmacy online and have started taking them I decided I had nothing to lose.. Has any ladies on here taken part in this trial and had any success I guess I'm clutching at straws again as feels like it will never happen for me after so many losses but apparently there are some success stories out there tia for any replies Xx

Hi, I have just been offered this trial too so searching for info everywhere! I feel bad saying that the possibility of a placebo puts me off 🙈

VenusStarr · 14/01/2022 14:53

Hi @Emb11 we felt the same and decided against going on the trial, despite Prof Q being certain that was the cause of my miscarriages. I saw Dr Shehata instead and was diagnosed with aggressive nk cells. I've since done the Emma and Alice tests and I don't have chronic endomitritis, so that's not our reason. We thought we found one with the nk cells, but I've had 2 losses on the immune protocol too, we're waiting for cytogenetic testing on my recent baby before deciding on next steps.

Emb11 · 15/01/2022 11:00

Hi @VenusStarr so sorry to hear this 😔 I did look into getting the tests privately too but tricky to know where to go and if its the antibiotics that help do you just get them anyway like the lady above did 🤷🏼‍♀️ Hope you get some answers from the testing 🤞x

VenusStarr · 15/01/2022 11:25

Thank you @Emb11 I know someone who bought the antibiotics online and conceived the next cycle and all is well x

Hi, I’m 23 had 3 misscariages. I’ve also been asked to do the trial but like mentioned above the “dummy” drugs put me of. I’m aware it’s doxycycline 2x a day you take if you get a positive biopsy so I am also just thinking to buy the anti biotics online and take them myself. Did anyone do this ?

Jolijoli · 25/04/2022 20:56

Hi, yes i done it, after 2 miscarriages was diagnosed with chronic endometritis on the trial, decided not to take any chances and bought them on online pharmacy. Few months later got pregnant, now 5 weeks, hoping for the best.

Jolijoli · 25/04/2022 21:00

You can just go on with a trial, and after finding out that you have chronic endometritis you can decide if want to participate further, it's your right. Just maybe don't tell them in advance that you might withdraw after finding out your results.

Hi ladies i tool part in the trial with Prof quenby I had the biopsy tested positive I ended up having to have antibiotics from my doctor which meant she wanted to do yet another womb biopsy which was agonising... I opted out and decided to take doxi myself bought online and I'm now nearly 10 weeks pregnant heartbeat seen twice from 6 weeks and 8 weeks awaiting another scan I'm also taking steroids and daily clexane Injections not sure what worked tbf she also did a womb scratch on me so something has worked so far for us after 11 previous losses 1 at 10 weeks missed mc and rest being very early losses at 5 weeks onwards I'm happy to say so far so good x

I’ve just read this online after searching for information on endometritis. I haven’t been diagnosed with it but have had 3 pregnancy losses and all tests have come back fine. I haven’t been tested for this bit thinking of buying the antibiotics online. Hope everything is still going well for you @Tinker39

Skylark1990 · 10/07/2022 17:25

Hey all,how did everyone go with this? I've just suffered my third loss and wondering if I have endometritis, I had my first DD very easily but the birth was long and had early rupture of my waters so thinking maybe I picked up the infection then, and it's now preventing me from conceiving again. @Jolijoli @Tinker39 @Oliviaashkno @Emb11 @VenusStarr @chasingtherainbow1 any news?
I've asked to be referred to the Coventry Tommy's clinic for my recurrent miscarriage tests, but can you also just ring them up and ask to do the trial? X

Jolijoli · 10/07/2022 18:05

Hi, I just had third miscarriage after two weeks of doxy. I think that womb inflamation didnt clear up. Not completely at least.
So now gonna take further 3 weeks of doxy and then check if I still have womb inflamation. If I do then gonna ask for different antibiotics to treat it.

Oliviaashkno · 10/07/2022 20:59

Hey! @Skylark1990
so I went for my biopsy, they wasn’t able to get the sample to test as I have a filter uterus and it was closed . The pain was out of this world and seen as I was offered no pain relief or sedation I had to stop the biopsy.
I’ve recently in the last month ordered doxycycline myself and took them. Surprisingly my period after the doxycycline lasted longer but was no where near as painful as I usually get them, hardly any pain, the period felt different all round . So I think it’s done something, will be ttc again next month so will let u know x

Oliviaashkno · 10/07/2022 21:00

tilted uterus **

chasingtherainbow1 · 11/07/2022 09:33

I decided to just order the doxy online and take a course myself. I ordered enough for 3 weeks and am currently taking them this cycle. I know it's probably not advised but I'd be annoyed with myself if we had another mc and I hadn't tried it. Also bought some probiotics to try and balance it a bit more. Fingers crossed it works

Skylark1990 · 11/07/2022 10:20

@Jolijoli I'm so sorry to hear you had another loss 💔 I hope you are doing ok. Did you get tested for it before taking doxy? I know that you can also get a test for good bacteria so this is important too so could help to take a really good probiotic as well - symprove is excellent. What dose did you take?

@Oliviaashkno gosh that sounds so painful, I'm sorry! Was that through the trial that they tried or did you go private? I'm glad to hear the doxy hopefully worked, 🤞🤞 for you this time. How long did you take it and what dose?

@chasingtherainbow1 best of luck, I hope it works for you. I am strongly considering the same. How come you are taking for 3 weeks? have read elsewhere to do it for 2 - but is 3 better? Are you taking 100mg twice a day?

Basically wondering if it's 100mg twice a day we are meant to take for 2 weeks. Or more / less. Also does anyone know whether it matters what part of the cycle we take it? X

chasingtherainbow1 · 11/07/2022 10:58

@Skylark1990 I read that it took 3 weeks of antibiotics to treat it for a lot of people so I thought I'd just do that and hope for the best. Yeah so it's 100 in the morning and 100 again in the evening. I'm at a point where I'd just try anything now.

Just getting impatient for my BFP now. It's been 6 months since our last loss so fingers crossed it comes soon.

Oliviaashkno · 11/07/2022 11:00

Was with the nhs. I rang my local early preg unit and asked to take part.
i took 100mg twice a day for 2 weeks x

Skylark1990 · 11/07/2022 11:22

Thank you both @chasingtherainbow1 @Oliviaashkno did you have any side effects from the antibiotics? Do you feel fine afterwards? X

chasingtherainbow1 · 11/07/2022 12:04

@Skylark1990 I've not experienced any side effects as of yet. I'm almost 2 weeks in so I guess they would have kicked in my now.

Skylark1990 · 11/07/2022 12:40

Thanks for letting me know @chasingtherainbow1 I saw you are taking probiotics so hopefully that is helping with side effects. Did you start the course on Cd 1 or do you know if it matters when we take it? Also where did you order it from? The most I seem able to get in one order is 41 pills and that's if I say I'm going to a malaria country... But would need 42 for 3 weeks!

chasingtherainbow1 · 11/07/2022 13:09

@Skylark1990 yes I started on cd1 as I have ready that is when the cerm trial starts. I ordered them from Superdrug doctor online for malaria. They give you a choice for how many days you need. But they prescribe 1 a day for that so don't forget to factor in that you will need 2. Cost about £30.

chasingtherainbow1 · 11/07/2022 13:14

Just be careful if you have any allergies etc. i have allergies to 2 other antibiotics so I made sure I wouldn't be allergic to these too. Annoyingly when I asked my doctor after I'd already bought these, they said they would given me them on prescription but it was too late 🙄

Jolijoli · 12/07/2022 16:46

Yes I did tested positive for womb inflamation before taking doxy. Took one pill 100mg in the morning and one pill 100 mg in the evening.
So now gonna take the same dose for three weeks. Did not get tested now but decided not to waste time and get tested after taking doxy, to make sure that womb inflamation is gone before start trying again.

ChickenT2b · 17/08/2022 23:05

Hey @Jolijoli so sorry for your losses :( I have had two miscarriages myself and just ordered the doxy online.
I was wondering how you are going to get tested after your next lot of doxy? Is there a private clinic you will go to or GP? Thanks and wishing you all the best. X

Jolijoli · 18/08/2022 12:41

ChickenT2b I am not sure how gonna get tested now, as they are stopping the trial as not enough participants. And also find out that is not common procedure to get tested for chronic endometritis in uk, it"s more USA thing. So gonna try get a test through my fertility dctor as I got 3 misc. now, or ask a gp if thry can help.
If not then will try to get prrgnant again and see what will happen. Also was told by hospital staff that even alice and emma tests are not very good.
