Hi ladies after 10 miscarriages all unexplained after trying everything I decided to take part in the cerm trial with Prof quenby so they was testing my nkc and for endometris not to be mistaken for endometriosis basically I have chronic inflammation of the womb.. So I went for a biopsy which I may add was veryyyy painful I was in pain for 2 weeks after I got the results back and I'm positive for endometris and there trialing if doxycylene a antibiotic works and there have been success stories in between the biopsy and my results I had a kidney infection which required antibiotics clinic called me to collect the meds which would of either been placebo or the real drugs doxycylene however as I had some they said I would need to start the trail all over again as I had taken antibiotics (sigh) so I decided to opt out as I diddent want to go through yet another 2 very painful biopsies with not even knowing of I was getting the real drugs after some digging I decided as I knew what the antibiotics were I got them from Lloyd's pharmacy online and have started taking them I decided I had nothing to lose.. Has any ladies on here taken part in this trial and had any success I guess I'm clutching at straws again as feels like it will never happen for me after so many losses but apparently there are some success stories out there tia for any replies Xx

@Jolijoli really? I was only told about the trial last month by prof quenby. How and when did you hear it was ending? I’m not surprised as so many women taking the doxy themselves and can’t blame us, it’s totally understandable to want to ensure you have had the correct treatment.

Hhdxx · 18/08/2022 16:58

Hey. I'm currently taking part in the.trial. I've found out I've got endometrisis from the biopsy. Not really sure what this means and what to do now?
I'm guessing taking part in the trial doesn't actually help me.
Has anyone gone to a private clinic to have other biopsies done and to have medication. X

Cwalker18 · 05/10/2022 12:49

Hi, I took part in the trial earlier this year. I now have a 6 month old baby 🌈 I believe I was given the antibiotics and that led to a successful pregnancy. I was also prescribed progesterone until 12 weeks so this may have also played a part. I wish you all the best 😊

Hhdxx · 05/10/2022 14:19

@Cwalker18 I'm so happy to hear this. Congratulations.
Unfortunately, I've just had another chemical pregnancy. So far, neo natal death, two missed miscarriages and two chemical pregnancies. X

Cwalker18 · 05/10/2022 16:32

@Hhdxx I'm really sorry to hear this. Did you continue to take part in the trial? I really hope you get your rainbow baby soon 🤞 x

Hhdxx · 05/10/2022 16:33

@Cwalker18 no I didn't but I have had the treatment with a private clinic. Thank you xxx

ChickenT2b · 05/10/2022 20:01

@Hhdxx so sorry to hear. Did they prescribe doxycycline for two weeks? I decided to not take part in the trial but bought the antibiotic online instead just in case I have/had endometritis. Did the private clinic test you again to confirm it’s cured? Thanks x

Jolijoli · 09/10/2022 21:43

Hi the third miscarriage wasn't successful as my baby had 21 chromosome it turns out, that's why I have miscarried most likely this time and not because of chronic endometritis this time. I am pregnant fourth time now, so fingers crossed.

Hhdxx · 10/10/2022 07:09

@ChickenT2b hey they didn't do another test to see. Have you noticed a difference in your periods?
I had a severe womb infection after having my daughter and I'm convinced that has caused this.

@Jolijoli I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriage but a gentle congratulations on this pregnancy xxx

Jolijoli · 10/10/2022 09:28

@ChickenT2b They ended trial in my hospital, I don't know about somewhere else xx

Jolijoli · 10/10/2022 09:39

@ChickenT2b Thank you. No they didn't check if inflamation has gone, my doctor in hospital said they don't do it on nhs, I have an impression that they don't even know about it alot, at least in UK. He didn't even know what are Alice or Emma tests, and when I told him, he said I could go private if I want.
My periods got much better after doxy, especially good was after d&c I have noticed, as I had surgical removal after third miscarriage.

Jolijoli · 10/10/2022 09:41

Hhdxx thank you xx

Jojodee · 27/11/2022 20:01

@Cwalker18 so happy to read your success story, did you conceive on your first cycle?
I was put on the trial however like many of the ladies I went to my GP and was prescribe doxy after finding out I how cronic emdo of the womb,
i was 2 days late for my period but unfortunately it has come. I’ve had the usual pain I’ve always had however this period is dark red bloody with a lot of black clots! (Sorry to be so graphic) but has anyone else had this my period seems to be so much worse this cycle. ❤️

Hi I wondered how everyone is getting on?
I've had 3 chemical pregnancies since finding out I've got endometritis.
I don't know what to do anymore.
I've tried everything.

ChickenT2b · 22/04/2023 18:46

@Hhdxx so sorry to hear that. Assume you were treated? Was your OH treated also?
I self prescribed doxycycline without doing the trial, just incase.
No luck since miscarriage 13 months ago until this week I got a BFP, I was due to start IVF next month. However, my lines appear to be fading. Not sure how this compares with your chemicals and if I should prepare for the worst?
If this ends in chemical or mc I think my next step will be to check for NK cells.

Hey, after finding out I had chronic endometritis, I took doxycycline, and now 33 weeks pregnant, all going good

Hhdxx · 23/04/2023 09:29

@ChickenT2b I'm really sorry to hear your bfp are fading. That's what mine keep doing every time I'm pregnant now. Since I've self prescribed with doxy, I don't even miss my period anymore, I just get really faint positive tests and that's it?
I've been looking at the clinic in Epsom for NK cells but I know it's going to cost thousands. I'm not sure if I have NK cells as nearly 3 years ago, I had my daughter at 29 weeks and had a placental abruption. We had to withdraw life support two days later. Ever since losing her, we just have early miscarriage after early miscarriage. It's hard to keep positive isn't it. I've honestly lost all hope and don't know what to do anymore.
I really hope your bfp starts to get darker.

@Jolijoli congratulations. This gives me hope. Did you take doxy? Do you mind me asking if you took anything else? Xxx

comingsoon786110 · 10/05/2023 10:37

@Hhdxx hi there, just saw your post and i know its been a few weeks. I have hight NK cells and I am with the CRP clinic in Epsom under Dr Shehata. Previous history: one second trimester loss at 14+2weeks and 5 CP's.

I have high NK cells and was put on a treatment plan including steroids but it hasn't worked. Since starting the treatment i have had 2 CP's on the plan.

I am now going back to my RMC and requesting a hysterscopy as I have an acurate womb and will be requesting the biopsy for chronic endometritis.

Hope is everyone else getting on?

Hhdxx · 10/05/2023 13:04

@comingsoon786110 thank you so much for getting back to me. I'm really sorry to hear about your losses. I've had 1 neonatal loss, my daughter was 2 days old and 2 miscarriages and 3 CP. I don't know what else to do!
I have heard about the clinic in Epsom. I'm sorry that it hasn't worked for you. Have they given a reason for it?

I had a hysteroscopy and all looked fine on it.

Sending lots of love x

comingsoon786110 · 10/05/2023 15:26

@Hhdxx I'm so sorry for your losses, you must be so strong to have to go through all that!

I know its annoying it hasn't worked for me but I haven't given up yet. I've paused the treatment with them for now until I get some further testing done with RMC and my procedure then I will start again. I have to have another consultation with them as you have one after every loss and I just miscarried again earlier this month.

I would definitely try it if you feel you have exhausted all your other options but I want to be completely honest with you- it is very pricey. Especially if you have to be on the complex plan like I am. We have nearly spent around £10k and still no successful pregnancy. This includes all the tests, intralipids, medication, scans etc...

I wish you luck though and please let me know if you have any questions ❤

chasingtherainbow1 · 09/06/2023 23:12

Just come back on MN for the first time in ages. Just thought I'd update. I fell pregnant not long after this post and now have my rainbow after 3 losses. Wishing the best to you all!

Hhdxx · 30/12/2023 10:24

Hello,
Congratulations @chasingtherainbow1 on the birth of your rainbow. Unfortunately, I've now had 1 neonatal loss, 2 miscarriages and 6 chemicals. I'm going to the Epsom clinic in January.
Do you mind me asking what medication you were on?
I'm trying to find somewhere to do EMMA/ALICE tests but they are so expensive.

Are there any probiotics that can be recommended?

I was diagnosed with Chronic Endometritis last year by professor Quenby.

Running out of things to do now.

Hannah

Jolijoli · 30/12/2023 14:05

I was diagnosed with chronic endometritis after two miscarriages too, took doxycycline 100 mg for two weeks twice daily as recommended and it helped. Got a beautiful baby now.

Hhdxx · 30/12/2023 17:59

@Jolijoli thank you for getting back to me. I have taken the antibiotics but have had 4 miscarriages since. Is there anything else you did?
X

Jolijoli · 30/12/2023 18:27

Took antibiotics again for another two weeks.
