Weight loss for IVF 2021/2022

I need to lose three stone to qualify for IVF. I've got one to lose for my referral and two more after that for treatment.
Creating this for myself and for others who might want to buddy up!

Thanks @caffelattetogo I'll definitely consider it! We've got our consultation next week so will explore options then. I'm actually hoping we'll be eligible for egg sharing which will reduce the price but will likely look at IVF select or something. It's more overwhelming than I anticipated so I'm just going to be guided by the consultant!

We would potentially be eligible for egg sharing but said they wouldn't put us forward before having one round of IVF as there's no way to know if we'd produce enough eggs etc.

I've got a nurse planning meeting next week and after that we can start whenever my next period starts - although that's likely to be whilst we're away so might be the cycle after!

I will say though I feel so much happier having made the decision. My weight has stayed stable so I've not gone wild but I've stopped feeling deeply tormented by trying to lose the weight.

@WeightlossKin That’s great. I know what you mean about feeling so much happier after not having bmi weight issue on you anymore. I feel much better now, so much less stress.

@WeightlossKin Hey! How you getting on? I posted a few times on this thread a while back. I went private for IVF due to my bmi being 34, managed to get it down from 40.

I had a cycle cancelled in July due to poor response so restarted in September on higher dose did much better, managed to get 2 embryos frozen on day 5, had a freeze all due to high progesterone so waiting for my first FET next month. X

Sorry you had a cancelled cycle how frustrating but glad the next one was more successful. 2 day 5s is great!
We did our first round in August, had 1 day 5 and 1 day 6 embryo frozen. Freeze all due to OHSS!
I'm just in the middle of my FET now and have my first transfer Tuesday next week!

Hi all ,

Hope everyone is well, I started letrozole in June and was prescribed 3 cycles worth. I ovulated on all 3 but no pregnancy unfortunately.

Had my consultation as I have x2 fibroids that 'might' need removing, so I'm now on the waiting list and I believe there is a 6/8month wait. He said I could do part ivf and freeze if they were an obstruction but if there is any obstruction then they would still freeze them as I'm at higher risk of ohss and continue once my body settles back to normal.

We have tests at the private clinic next week as all tests are out of date 🙂

The ladies that have had ivf privately, how did you juggle work E.g like time off for appointments etc?

Hi long time no speak everyone!
I actually got very good news! On the day I weighed myself and my BMI was 29.9, I also found out I was pregnant! After nearly 3 years of trying and a big operation to remove a massive cyst. I'm 18 weeks now
Miracles do happen
Although I do feel like I'm gaining all my weight back very quickly...
I know you'll all have best of luck with conceiving as well :)

@MrsBiddy This last fresh cycle my work have been very good. I get time off for scans and I had special leave for egg collection. I’ve been very upfront with my manager and she’s been excellent.

Cycle before I didn’t tell anyone and had annual leave to cover egg collection. I had my scans early, but we work flexi time so no one battered an eyelid with me starting work at 9:30 in morning.

@WeightlossKin Hey, glad you have got started, when are you in for transfer? I'm about a week away from my period all being well then I start, I'm doing a natural cycle, I'm just bracing myself as there always seems to be an issue and nothing goes to plan. I'm really worrying it won't work all the waiting round doesn't help. X

@MissLB Omg congratulations how amazing!!!!! Bet you couldn't believe it!! Remind me had you started ivf? I can't help but hope and pray this happens to me and I cling on to it every month even after all this time and heartbreak x

No we hadn't! It was a couple of weeks after they'd finally agreed to put us on the waiting list! Couldn't believe it! Didn't actually find out until nearly 6 weeks because I just didn't believe I could be pregnant!

So much lovely news. Congratulations all. After losing the weight for ivf twice (with a successful transfer in the middle) I've just lost it again, after our second transfer (we were v lucky, this one also worked). So just back with a BMI of 29.9 after a five stone gain for each pregnancy. It's been like climbing a mountain each time.

Hi @NatW2021 so sorry I didn't get back to you! I had my transfer and it was so lucky to be able to say itsy successful so far (i am on an IVF thread as well but slightly different username).
How are you doing in your tww? When is your official test date?

I'm ok I'm out, testing negative I've cried and cried but slowly starting to accept it. Hoping I have some positive news in the future x

I'm so sorry you tested negative @NatW2021 take time to look after yourself and feel however you need to. It's just a numbers and lucky bag game isn't it? Fingers crossed for your future cycle. I hope you can do something nice for yourself x
