Hi ladies after a string of miscarriages 10 in total I’ve had a nhs referral to prof quenby at Coventry I have had a womb biopsy juat last wed as she thinks it’s the lining of my womb that’s the problem so she’s tested for nkc and I’ve also taken part in a trial so I’ve had the biopsy I wait for the results and she will let me know the outcome then I have to go back if tested positive for antibiotics however she nor I will know if I get the real drugs or placebo :( I’ve been through so much and the biopsy was so painful and the scratch I screamed and I’ve been through a lot down there but that was horrendous I’m still in a little pain now .. has anyone else been part of a miscarriage trial or had success from
Womb scratch etc I don’t know what else she can offer me if the results are negative feels like I’ve reached the end of the road sometimes :( tia for any info ladies x

Hi @Tinker39 I'm sorry to hear about your losses, there are lots of knowledgeable people on this thread:

I'm under Prof Brosens who works with Prof Quenby as I have recurrent implantation failure.

You can potentially get a referral from you GP to dr Shehata who deals with a lot of ladies on here with immune issues . Have you tested everything else like anti phospholipids? I would clear other areas like clotting too, I assume prof Quenby tested all these?
If immunes , I wouldn’t want to be part of a trial where I might be getting dummy drugs , not after 10 mcs.
I went to Shehata but decided on dr Gorgy finally. My immunes were all bad and I had had 4 losses before treatment. He put me on prednisone 25mg, 75mg Baby aspirin, 40mg clexane, I was having huge amounts of progesterone support from my own clinic ( 6 cyclogest and lubion each day ) sometimes immunes means you attack your progesterone production and mine was awful without support. I took progesterone until 16 weeks. I also had intralipids and ivig and lit.
So a whole barrage of immune suppression drugs and drugs to protect the baby. I’m now 34 weeks.
I can’t imagine after 4 losses how you feel after 10. I couldn’t keep going without knowing I was doing something different and being on a trial would be too much

I decided not to participate in Professor Quenby's trial last year. I'd already had the nk cells biopsy with Professor Brosens and he'd prescribed progesterone as my nk cells were normal and I miscarried for the 4th time. Professor Q was adament I had chronic endomitritis but after 4 losses we didn't want to take the risk of the placebo, so I am under Dr Shehata now. He diagnosed me with low vitamin D and overactive nk cells (normal amount). I've struggled to conceive since so we've done ivf and my FET recently was a bfp, so hoping the immune protocol is what I need.

Interestingly @Smiler79 my fresh cycle ended on a chemical and I think it was due to my progesterone levels. We've added lubion in and I think that's what's made the difference this time.
After my chemical I did the Endometrio tests which looks at infection and inflammation (endomitritis) and I don't have it, so I'm glad we chose not to do the trial. Good to hear your pregnancy is going well.

I'm sorry you found the biopsy painful @Tinker39 I find them really difficult, even my transfer this time was triggering. I hope you do get some answers from Quenby, but second what Smiler says and look into imuune factors for recurrent losses ❤️

Hi. We've just signed up for the CERM trial with Professor Quenby. Like you, we were initially put off by the idea of potentially getting the placebo but tbh it's the only thing we've been offered after 6 miscarriages in total / 3 in a row.

I have two children age 12 and 10 with my previous partner so I know my body can theoretically do this (or it could, a decade ago!) but I also know that something is very obviously wrong as we've lost the last 3 at exactly the same point (8/9 weeks along) and testing for genetic / chromosomal issues hasn't shown anything. Neither have any of my NHS tests.

We can't afford to go private so we're putting a lot of faith in Professor Quenby at this point!

I'd love to hear how you get on with the trial if you're able to come back and share your experience.

I'm on day 3 of my cycle so expecting to have my biopsy at the end of this month.

Hi all,

I'm currently waiting on an appointment with Quenby via Tommy's. I've had two miscarriages and one pregnancy of unknown location which was treated as an ectopic.

After my second miscarriage I had immune testing down with dr gorgy which included the nk biopsy. My IVF transfers since have included intralipids and steroids etc

I just wondered whether people thought doing the biopsy again with Quenby would be worthwhile. I really want a second opinion on everything but at the same time I don't want to waste my money. I believe Quenby uses a different lab to Dr Gorgy and I wonder if it will show a different result.

Keen to know what other people think. Thanks in advance
