Success stories with slow and low hcg?

My 3 beta hcg levels (48 hours apart) have been 48, 70, and 92.

Trying to stay positive but it's difficult after the last 2 transfers resulted in chemical pregnancies.

I don't feel like we have good chances here, but maybe there is someone else who's been through this and came out with a healthy baby.

Also happy to share stories that didn't turn out well. I guess, more than anything, just looking for others who have gone through this.

Hi @anothermiracle, I want to thank you for keeping this thread going for those of us in the future looking it up. I am one of those. My first IVF had HCG levels of 198 and produce a healthy baby. This time, my first blood work was 26. 8 days later, I'm only at 115. My levels are increasing, but not even doubling within 72 hours. We realize that your story is the exception, but we appreciate your updates. Knowing that you had a successful pregnancy and had a healthy baby despite having low/slow HCG is helping me not just give up.

@MamaGoat Thank you for resurrecting this thread! I am currently going crazy with googling numbers and success stories. My husband and I have used donor embryos and our first attempt was super easy with no complications- currently have a 3 year old. Second try resulted in a chemical pregnancy. We just had an FET done 12 days ago. First beta done last Friday (9dp5dt) was 68. Today’s beta (12dp5dt) was 146. Nurse told me they are “concerned” because they expected it to have gone up more? Am to get another test in 2 days but of course am freaking out and worried that every little cramp and pull is a bad sign. 😔

Hi, this is someone from the future of when you first posted this thread and I just wanted to say thank you for following through and updating. My mind and emotions are so similar to what you went through. Numbers we're similar as well...just wanted to say, I'm so happy for your little family and glad you had your 🌈

If anything, this thread made me feel significantly less alone...it made me feel understood...and made me cautiously hopeful... doesn't make the worry go away....but I'm grateful for the glimmers sharing your journey has brought me ❤️

I wanted to thank you for this thread as after spending 2 days of none stop googling this is the only success story I have found with slow HCG!
I'm currently experiencing the same issue:
First test was 167 and 4 days later only 288. I've lost all hope and would love if any of you others had success stories

Thank you for your success story. Im in the middle of waiting moment to check my hcg level on tuesday after yesterday my hcg level only 83. Hopefully it goes up on tuesday. Your success story give me a little hope. This is going to be our last attempt ivf, hopefully it works.

@ReginaLee I'm sorry you're going through this. How many days past transfer are you?

Don’t worry about what it starts off at, the most important thing is how it rises xx

Im 10 days after embryo transfer.

@anothermiracle hi ... Im so glad to hear your story. Im in the middle of the situation that my hcg level is low and slow, my 1 : 80, 101, and I will test again on friday hopefully it is increase and the fetus can grow. I need a miracle. Xxx

@Janefx40 hi jane, i just came back from blood test and my hcg level is 101, it is increasing but I need to get another test on friday. Wish me luck, hopefully it is going up on friday.

the doctors have told me it’s most likely either eptopic or going to be a failed pregnancy and it’s a slim chance the pregnancy continuing. Hopefully it will be okay 🙏

Vanessa - I have weirdly similar numbers to you and we seem to be going through this at the same time.
Aug 10 -101 (4 weeks 6 days)
Aug 11 - 169 (5 weeks)
Aug 17 - Ultrasound showed sac and yolk no fetal pole
Aug 18 - 551 (6 weeks)

• doubling time of 92 hours - way way off the 48 hour target

bloodwork done today Aug 22 (results tomorrow), waiting for results. I go in again Thursday (August 24) for repeat bloodwork and ultrasound. Both my successful pregnancies had overly high hcg (like they thought twins high), so I am nervous. We have had 2 blighted ovums as well as 3 miscarriages.

OP - you probably wont see this. But thank you for your success story and keeping hope alive. To all those who have read and continue to read - thank you as well. To feel less alone and that there is a small chance baby may grow is special.

the doctors suspect ectopic but want another hcg today before treating it! I am hoping I am in the small percentage of successes!

Hi, and a big thank you for this thread. I have been in a scrolling hole trying to find some positivity whilst battling low and slow rising HCG. Which I would also refer to as low and slow torture!!!

Strong 2 lines at home HCG at 1 day prior to period

BHCG levels:
4 weeks - 67
4w 4days - 187
5w 3 days - 217

I am now waiting a further week to see if I am now in fact on the way down? Or a very slow and concerning rise? It appears all hope is lost now. My first 2 tests the Dr said it was borderline but, after the 3rd result not even close to doubling even once over that it was pretty inconceivable that a viable pregnant would ensue.

Concerns are more around ectopic pregnancy for now.

Is there any chance?? It feels strange, and cruel to be walking around waiting for the day my body will officially lose this pregnancy 😔 I’m in unofficial limbo and it is totally heartbreaking, and exhausting! But strangely enough, my mind cannot help but be a cup half full and hang on to any seed of hope even though all but a red line has been put through it 😞

Actually found out last week that mine was ectopic completely devastated. I’ve always had problems conceiving so I thought finally something went my way when I found out I was pregnant. They have given me methoxtrate and i won’t be able to conceive for 6 months the doctors said.

I’m reading your threads and it’s giving me hope , I also was wondering if you were told to stop all the oestrogen and progesterone my fist attempt was only 35 so we got off all meds and naturally miscarried the second round my levels started at 65 and went to 75 my ivf specialist stoped all my meds because wasn’t increasing enough so said it wouldn’t be viable (now reading this I wonder if I should have kept going a week or two longer ) we just got results today for 9 day post transfer levels are at 91 (they said need to be 150) blood test again in 2 days so hoping they increase a lot but if not I’m wondering if it’s worth holding on ? So confused :-(

Hey! I know this is old but this gave me so much hope! I was wondering what DPO your blood draws began at? Mine are 14 DPO 70, 16 DPO 98 ,18 DPO 138.. Feeling like a miscarriage is inevitable but you never know! Didn't know if your blood draws started much earlier? Thanks for any insite and congrats on your baby!!!

@Vanessa1990 sorry to hear yours was ectopic. I’ve had one previously treat with methotrexatex I was able to try 3 months later.

im having similar issue now,

first beta at 4 weeks 2 days was 33
2 days later 59
2 days later 72
waited a week later and shot to 1140
2 days later 2044

had a scan and nothing could be seen so have to go back Monday for another scan. I have no hope at this point as nothing could be seen at all.

Hi, sorry to jump on an old post! Just wanted to say thank you for following the post through and for the updates it's given me a little reassurance!
I'm currently going out of my mind I'm 6 weeks pregnant and my hcg on Monday was 535 and then on Thursday (72 hours) 766. Is there even the smallest chance I could go on to have a healthy pregnancy?
