I can't see that anyone else has started one yet, so I thought I may as well!

Just got my calendar through today and will be downregging in three weeks time, starting stims in late October, with EC provisionally in early November. This is my second round, which will now be ICSI-only after my last one ended up with a total fertilisation failure Sad

Anyone else on the same sort of timeframe?

Feeling very premenstrual and deflated today, although I know that could be the pessaries

If anyone remembers, we only got 2 normally fertilised eggs this time - Clinic got in touch Wednesday morning to say one made blastocysts, so I was really relieved and happy with that, but when I got there the embryologist told us it wasn't really looking good, far fewer cells than they like to see etc, so that was really disappointing. They transferred it as they say they have seen pregnancies with these kind of embryos before, but my non-stop googling since then puts my chances at about 10%. So really just gearing up to go through this whole process again

Ivf1sttime · 21/11/2021 11:39

@LivingonaPrayerandGin aww thank you so much it's really scary waiting and just praying for the best news 😁

Ivf1sttime · 21/11/2021 11:40

@KatRee thank you I agree it's really hard waiting hope it's good news 🤞🏼

Gensola · 21/11/2021 11:47

@KatRee thank you Smile when is your OTD? Keeping everything crossed for you x

BlueSilver23 · 21/11/2021 11:53

@KatRee thank you. Yes glad to be done but just having my LH checked to double check we are all go for tomorrow. Feeling quite rough with abdo pains so hoping everything’s ok. Fingers crossed all goes well.

Best of luck with the two embryos, you never know what happens with these things, fantastic looking embryos don’t implant and the ‘dodgy’ ones end up as a baby against the odds so don’t lose heart yet!

PositiveeVibes · 21/11/2021 12:57

@Gensola hopefully they’re all good signs!

Thank you @KatRee @Tiger86 quality was same as last time at a grade D so transferred two embryos with nothing to freeze again! Just walked dog and now going to rest and do some Christmas shopping ha ha!

PositiveeVibes · 21/11/2021 12:58

@KatRee sorry to hear that! Googling definitely doesn’t help does it!!

JP3264 · 21/11/2021 13:15

@KatRee Thanks for this. I knew that we'd likely only get one or two, but it was a shock nonetheless. I think the hormones just make any bad news so much worse that it would be otherwise. I've read that grade C are less likely to implant, but if they do, they're just as good as higher grades. Hope you're feeling better soon.

JP3264 · 21/11/2021 13:39

@BlueSilver23 I was really worried about my first EC too, but it was a lot better than expected. Had some discomfort before the procedure, but afterwards only a few odd twinges. No memory of the procedure at all. My clinic said that paracetamol and codeine were both fine to use, but I only needed paracetamol (although it was reassuring to have some codeine in just in case).

The only problem I had was feeling unusually sad for a day or so afterwards (but I think that might have been the buserelin trigger).
Hope it all goes smoothly for you tomorrow.

BlueSilver23 · 21/11/2021 13:50

@JP3264 thank you! Don’t know why I’m so nervous. Definitely feeling uncomfortable and twingy around the ovaries today! Currently giving myself a headache over where to park the car (clinic doesn’t have parking Hmm). Looks like it will have to be a short walk to nearest car park afterwards which isn’t great. And then a fun two hour drive home with nowhere to stop…… really hoping the bleeding and nausea stays at bay at least until I get home!

Tiger86 · 21/11/2021 15:43

Is anyone else just exhausted. I'm pretty sure it is the progesterone but it is making me exhausted. I have a underactive thyroid too which I take medication for so hoping my levels are still ok going intonmy transfer tomorrow but it is not good when you are already so tired x

KatRee · 21/11/2021 17:54

@Tiger86 - I'm pretty tired, but that's more out of the ordinary for me! The whole process is exhausting though, without the added complications of hormones, thyroids etc! Hope you are able to get some rest and hope transfer goes smoothly

@BlueSilver23 Really hope you're not too uncomfortable after EC - I 've been ever so slightly sore after mine, but fine for a 10 min walk straight after, so hopefully getting to the car will be ok. If you're feeling your ovaries are swollen now it can sometimes be a bit of a relief to get them all drained!

@PositiveeVibes You're right, googling does not help and I said I wasn't going to this time! 🤞you have at least one sticky one there.

@Gensola They gave me the optioned doing blood test in 26th or urine on 28th. That does seem very late and would expect to get a reliable result on a home test before then really. We are actually going to be away then, so can't go to clinic for the bloods. I don't know that I want to test whilst in holiday either, so not sure what to do. When is yours?

Gensola · 21/11/2021 18:01

@KatRee mine is urine on 27 but planning to test on 26 as I’ve an event that night and I’d rather know, I’ll be 10dp5dt by then so unlikely it would change between 26 and 27.

@Tiger86 I am exhausted, it’s the progesterone I think, I’m on a double dose compared to my previous 3 FETs (3 x pessaries and then 1 x Lubion injection per day) and I find I’m basically wiped out by 9pm. I also feel sicky most of the day except when I’m eating which is not ideal 😂

BlueSilver23 · 21/11/2021 18:02

Also feeling rough tonight. Will be glad to get it over with as feeling very swollen (abdo isn’t too swollen yet but ovaries are definitely feeling painful).

For those who have had EC before; are abdo shooting pains normal? They are really quite painful. Worried it’s the eggs ovulating!

BlueSilver23 · 21/11/2021 18:04

@Tiger86 best of luck tomorrow! Hopefully we both end up with a good result Smile. And good luck to anyone who’s having something done tomorrow who I’ve missed!

KatRee · 21/11/2021 18:16

@BlueSilver23 I've had what felt like strong ovulation pain day before both my ECs, but I didn't ovulate early either time

Tiger86 · 21/11/2021 19:29

Thanks everyone glad it's not just me that is so tired!

I am assuming you still take the progesterone pessary even on transfer day? As I take one in the morning and at night. x

@Gensola and @Katree not too long until test day for you guys although I'm sure a week still feels like a lifetime away.

I feel as though I am waiting for some bad news tomorrow as so far I have had good news. Just feel like it can't all keep going well and lots of people saying even with lots of eggs doing well on day 3 most won't make blastocyst. Tomorrow is going to feel like a long day until my appointment at 2pm for news x

BlueSilver23 · 21/11/2021 20:46

@KatRee thanks, thats reassuring. I’ve just taken myself to bed with some Netflix to try and take my mind off everything. Really worrying myself for some reason. Think it’s because it’s my first one and the whole things been a bit up and down.

BlueSilver23 · 21/11/2021 20:47

@Tiger86 think positive!

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 21/11/2021 21:01

@LivingonaPrayerandGin transfer is 29th, if all goes ok at scan 23rd. I'm not really sure how often, my lady recommended starting 3 months before, and she would sort a programme out for me. But I work crazy amounts and she's a hours drive away, plus £40 per pop. So decided to start about 10 days before transfer, and I have 4 or 5 booked prior to transfer, and 2 after. Luckily she's on the way to the clinic, so on day of transfer I will pop into her on the way and on the way back :)

@KatRee yep none of this is cheap is it lol, Acupunture isn't cheap either, but it makes me make time to relax, even if it isn't doing anything else. But I really was impressed with it taking away my headaches :) x

LivingonaPrayerandGin · 22/11/2021 07:46

Good luck to everyone this morning in updates and @BlueSilver23 for your EC!

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 I've my first session this weekend but my day 7 scan on Weds so I might not fit mine in before EC 🤦‍♀️ I've also been told we've to isolate between EC and ET, have you? X

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 22/11/2021 07:56

@LivingonaPrayerandGin I had to isolate for about 12 days I think last time, a week before EC until transfer. I only had acupuncture before and after transfer last time. This time I'm meant to isolate a week before transfer (only doing FET this time), but I am still attending acupuncture, and going to work, I can't keep putting life on hold every time, and I need to be working. For fresh cycles I will isolate for 2 weeks, but for FET I am trying to keep life as 'normal' as possible x

BlueSilver23 · 22/11/2021 10:46

@LivingonaPrayerandGin thank you! Best of luck to everyone else with important bits happening today! Smile

Gensola · 22/11/2021 10:59

@BlueSilver23 good luck today!

PositiveeVibes · 22/11/2021 11:33

Good luck with your EC @BlueSilver23

@Tiger86 good luck with your transfer
