I can't see that anyone else has started one yet, so I thought I may as well!

Just got my calendar through today and will be downregging in three weeks time, starting stims in late October, with EC provisionally in early November. This is my second round, which will now be ICSI-only after my last one ended up with a total fertilisation failure Sad

Anyone else on the same sort of timeframe?

@Reefy thank you! How are you doing?

Reefy · 10/11/2021 09:10

@PositiveeVibes yes not to bad thank you. Had my transfer on Monday. I had none viable to freeze again & the quality wasn't the best of the one that was transferred so been trying to get my head round it all the last few days.

Glad your follicles are growing well 😀

Reefy · 10/11/2021 09:15

@want2bemum I hope you are feeling ok after getting OHSS

PositiveeVibes · 10/11/2021 09:22

@Reefy aww sorry to hear that! I understand as I would feel the exact same! Hoping this one sticks around with you! 🤞

Fingerscrossedfor2021HK · 10/11/2021 09:28

Thanks @Gensola and @PositiveeVibes - I am trying my best to stay calm and have been doing acupuncture and v gentle fertility yoga which seems to calm my nerves if nothing else! My acupuncturist also put in some ear seeds that I have to massage 3 times a day, as well as giving me a sort of hot charcoal herb stick that you heat up and wave over your big toes before bed. I am willing to try anything at this point, and I do think eastern medicine can be very effective (acupuncture really helped my cycles as well as my mental state after an earlier miscarriage).

Good luck everyone!

Fingerscrossedfor2021HK · 10/11/2021 09:30

@Reefy the 2 I had put back were apparently average at best (meaning I guess my 3 Frosties are prob poor quality - I didn’t ask for details as would rather stick my head in the sand for now!) but my best friend’s new baby is the result of what she was told was essentially
the worst quality embryo that her clinic would transfer so there is hope!

Ivfnewbie1 · 10/11/2021 09:53

Hey everyone!!! Long post alert…sorry! I’m currently on my 2ww and feel like I’m going nuts! I’m 7dp5dt, had no implantation bleed so far, on day 3-5 I had cramps which felt like AF was on her way 😢 these seem to have stopped now and am just feeling twinges now and then. Boobs feel full and solid with sore nipples (sorry tmi), tiredness is setting in and I’m sure some things are tasting weirder than normal (is my head playing tricks on me seeing something that isn’t there) Test day is 16th Nov…trying really hard not to test early, not sure I can take seeing the bfn! Convinced it hasn’t worked however partner is extremely annoyingly super positive…sometimes I think he doesn’t understand so can be quite lonely 😞

Reefy · 10/11/2021 09:53

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK oh wow! Thank you gives me a little bit of hope ☺️

Shaj123 · 10/11/2021 09:55

@Reefy Good luck Reefy on the one that was transferred and yes even if its not the best quality, it can still work!

@PositiveeVibes sounds great! All the best with the future scans.

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK Feel the same with exercise, I love doing high intensity workout and family members have asked me why I haven't done in a while! I feel like all the extra progesterone is making me so hungry!

Reefy · 10/11/2021 10:38

@Shaj123 thank you. Hope you are doing ok.

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 10/11/2021 10:43

Hey everyone, I know it's not the same but I have been doing loads of walking, it's great for the soul :) plus it's atleast something. Also have you ever used MyFitnessPal? Highly recommend it, I managed to lose half a stone during ivf, as took time off work so done loads of walking and eating much better, plus skipping all alcohol helped too lol. The app really helped as it tracks your exercise and also your food, it helped me make sensible choices.... also always remember our bodies our dealing with so much, if you want some naughty food or a sofa day then I think we all deserve these :) x

PositiveeVibes · 10/11/2021 11:28

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 yes I try to go out on walks I have a dog which helps with that ha ha! Oh yes I’ve tried to eat better but not stopped having treats when I want them! Last night I was soo bloated I felt like I could pop! Ha ha! Our bodies are going through a lot!! X

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 10/11/2021 11:49

@PositiveeVibes what sort of dog have you got? I have a staffie/boxer, she's 15 now, so a walk with her is an all day event just to do a mile lol, so me and the other half walk her then go out again ourselves :) x

PositiveeVibes · 10/11/2021 11:54

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 we have a Lakeland terrier he’s 6 but he doesn’t like to walk in the dark/cold ha ha he’s very spoilt! Awww bless her they do bring joy into your life! X

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 10/11/2021 12:06

@PositiveeVibes oh bless him, not going to lie ours is the same, she has a hooded coat as she doesn't like getting wet, and walks around puddles rather than through lol 😂

want2bemum · 10/11/2021 16:57

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK Welcome and good luck to you! I have very few tips on staying sane I'm afraid, am struggling myself, but distractions are helping somewhat in the way of friends, work, hobbies and yes also food! (I am dreading weighing myself because I've been comfort eating for sure)

It's such a horrible wait!

@Reefy Congrats on your transfer but sorry to hear that you didn't get any to freeze. Everything crossed for you lovely x x
I'm feeling OK now thank you, I still have a bit of pain but today is the first day I've felt more or less normal so I'm just enjoying that feeling!

I am symptom spotting like crazy though - I have been a bit nauseous, sore breasts and a bit of cramping, but I know these can all be symptoms of the many medications I've been taking!

Reefy · 10/11/2021 17:25

@want2bemum thank you. Yes I think was a shock as 3 were doing well on Saturday when they called, they said they reached blastocyst but not a good enough quality. Oh I was like that on my first round but I'm not thinking about it this time & scrolling the internet everyday! I'm glad you are feeling better. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

KatRee · 10/11/2021 18:13

This thread is moving quickly today! I hope everyone is ok. What a rollercoaster this is, the ups and downs and the waiting in between is so so hard

I'm taking my trigger tonight and feeling a bit despondent about this round. Been told 5 eggs is absolute best case scenario and as we only managed 2 embryos from 13 eggs last time I'm trying to prepare for the worst already

Gensola · 10/11/2021 18:28

@KatRee - we got 25 eggs first time and only two, not that great quality embryos and then the second time 12 eggs and three excellent embryos, so numbers of eggs doesn’t seem to necessarily mean lots of embryos! Keeping everything crossed for you.
I’m finding Lubion quite sore, the injection itself was fine but the place it went in was really sore within a few mins and remains sore now. A bit worried I’ll run out of space!

PositiveeVibes · 10/11/2021 19:36

@KatRee I know I struggle to keep up! So many ups and downs, I think the not knowing with timescales has been hardest for me with work etc. But we go with it! Aww it’s hard isn’t it but hopefully they are end up as good quality embryos!!

@Gensola haven’t been on Lublin so no idea what that’s like but sounds painful!! Hopefully you have enough room!

KatRee · 10/11/2021 19:38

Thank you @Gensola Sorry the Lubion is a pain. Do you have to option of alternating that one between tummy and thighs?

KatRee · 10/11/2021 21:22

Thanks @PositiveeVibes - glad your scan went well x

ChocolateinBrugges · 10/11/2021 22:13

Hi ladies,
Thanks for your support the other day of my scan, I appreciate it. I felt a lot of comfort from your messages. We still have 3 follicles that are way ahead but a few are catching up. IVF is a roller-coaster for sure. Keeping everything crossed for all of us x

PositiveeVibes · 11/11/2021 10:37

@ChocolateinBrugges I know how you feel this has really helped me this time around reaching out to people going though same thing! Aww that’s good news! When’s your next scan? X

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 11/11/2021 11:07
