Hi @Ally0400
So exciting your meds are arriving soon! I'll be on a short antagonist as well. Do you know which specific meds you'll be on?
@Pippya
Hi, i'm sorry you did not get much information. As you mentioned a letter, are you having treatment with the NHS or private? NHS tend to not be great with communication but they should at least tell you what's happening next and what to expect. Did you have any appointments yet?
It really would depend on what protocol you will be on. The paperwork I got from my clinic mentioned both options: on my case, short protocol with pill, I call them on the first day of my period, start the pill on the second (i think!), they let me know for how long to take it. Have a baseline scan around day 3 or 4 (which is when i collect the meds from their pharmacy, should be early next week) and they tell me when to stop. Have another bleed and start Gonal F on day 1 of that new cycle and add cetrotide along the way. If I wasn't taking the pill, stims and scan would be all next week.
But it also mentions if I were on a long protocol with down regulation, i needed to call on day 1 of my next cycle they book a scan and then start down reg meds on day 21.
If you already have EC booked, they really should have told you more. Don't be afraid to ask questions. I had a notebook with me at my nurse's appointment with a long list of questions. Turns out she answered most before I even asked but i took some time to go over all my notes and ask the rest before we finished the appointment.
It's your treatment, your time (depending on the case, your money), so don't shy away from getting all the info you want or need.
I'm sorry you have to deal with both MFI and PCOS. could they sort of cancel each other out? Less sperm count but more eggs?
