IVF at Create Fertility - process and timeline?

Hello all, I used to post on the conception thread but I think it's time I now moved to the infertility section instead.

I've been trying for over a year now and have decided to go down the IVF route. I have low AMH and low antral follicle count (3) and I'm 32 years old. After so many days of feeling down and crying, I now feel like I need to get into gear and try to be more positive about it!

Is anyone on here currently with Create Fertility for their IVF or have been in the past? Can someone give me an idea of costs, general timeline and the process?

Thank you all 🙏

Hi there - I actually gave birth to twins on Saturday which were Create babies!

Timeline wise it was very quick (pre covid) and after an initial consultation we Create have started within a month as my cycles very regular and as they only do mild IVF or natural modified you don't have to down reg which can take weeks

Both Mild and natural modified IVF are less than 2 weeks from starting drugs to egg collection so over very quick with minimal side effects

Cost wise It varies - first 2 cycles we did mild IVF with ICSI, we got 3 transfers out of that plus did some PGS testing - I think total cost was in region of £20k in the end when you factor in freezing, storage, freeze all rounds

Cycles 3-5 were natural modified and this for us our twins - total cost for 3 cycles was £13.5k including all drugs and ICSI and freezing and transfer (wish I'd done this first rather than the mild IVF!)

ohsheglows · 18/01/2021 20:51

@ivfbeenbusy oh wow! Congratulations! How are you feeling? Twins is so exciting. Do you mind me asking if you had two embryos put in?

Yes they have preemptively recommended natural modified and 3 rounds of it although I actually havent had my official consultation yet. I had a look at their price list and I'm so confused because the £13.5k is for 6 egg collections whereas the £7900 is for 3 egg collections. I'm guessing you went for the former?

I'm worried I won't be able to start this month as my consultation is so close to the first day of my period. I have about a week before I'm on day 5 of my cycle so I don't think it's enough time to sign documents, order drugs etc. It's just frustrating knowing I may potentially have to wait until March...

Thanks. I put 2 embryos in and Create agreed but only because I was 37 and this was my 4th transfer and after some previously poor PGS results the chances of both implanting was supposedly low 🤣. It's very difficult to get them to agree to it otherwise. Also I was fit and healthy and found twin pregnancy brutal and nearly lost them and me at the end due to the strain of the pregnancy so definitely think hard before doing a double transfer

You have to factor all the medication and other on costs etc into the package prices. So my cost of £13.5k is for THREE cycles

  • £7.5k 3 cycle package including closed culture and embryoscope

*£2.3k support package. Otherwise you pay individually for blood tests and sedation etc

*£3k for x3 ICSI. Since you have male factor you'll definitely be told to have this

*£700 for all drugs for the 3 cycles

Yes I'd say you will Probably miss this month as after consultation is the paperwork that needs signing, maybe some additional blood tests they require (you have to have the HIV one etc before you can start) and then a nurse appointment showing you how to inject etc

IslandStars · 19/01/2021 10:12

@ivfbeenbusy Congratulations!! So glad your twins are finally here, how wonderful. Hope i can add to the Create family this year! x

@ohsheglows I'm with Create too. Doing 3 cycle package of mild IVF with PGS. The package itself costs around £14K, including the support package, then each month the meds are around £750 on average. Couple of extra bits like the initial consultation (mine was £360 as it's just for me) and the HIV / virology blood test was £140 for me.

Everything has gone quickly, i did cycles in October, December and my final one now. My initial consultation scan was middle of September.

Bumping this old thread in the hope of some advice, I've just completed my first cycle at Create - mild IVF. 9 eggs, 8 mature, 3 fertilised, one frozen, two reached blast stage but were sadly abnormal.
I'm pretty devastated, and can't help blaming myself (at 38) for bad quality eggs.
After reading advice on this thread, I'm going to request natural modified in my next cycle (I have two other cycles)
And wanted to ask if there is anything I can do to improve quality? Feel so put of control.
I've named my frosty which I really shouldn't have done, but I had such a good feeling this is the one that could turn into a baby!
Feeling the sense of loss of the other quite acutely :(

Namechange8787 · 17/02/2022 11:56

@@missscarlet1did you switch to natural modified? Would you mind me asking how it went? Just about to consider this with Create.

Jgirlstaypositive · 08/06/2022 14:56

@IslandStars Hello, I know this is an old thread but just wanted to find out how it went and if you were successful with create. We are considering using them.

SantoPalo · 10/06/2022 20:49

My DS is a Create baby. He will be 1 next week.
I had a good experience with them. I had mild ivf

MrsMary78 · 13/06/2022 15:48

@Jgirlstaypositive I used Create and now have a 6months old baby. I did the package of 3 cycles (basically 3 collections and 1 transfer), in one of the cycles I tried Natural Modified but didn't get a good number of eggs (just 1 which wasn't successful), with Mild instead I had 4 eggs where 1 was fertilised and transferred on Day3 (they don't wait for Day 5 blasto stage).

The whole process was quick, only 5 days of injections and minimum medication, basically it was as natural as possible and I like this approach. The traditional IVF is too harsh on women bodies, especially for those over 40s like myself. Hope this helps x

ringofrain · 16/06/2022 22:26

@MrsMary78 I am with Create now, which doctor you were with? you can pm me if you don't mind?

Jgirlstaypositive · 17/06/2022 09:15

Yes very helpful, thank you. Congrats on your little one!! We have decided to go with create. Having consultation soon. Wish us luck! xX

MrsMary78 · 18/06/2022 14:51

I sent you a PM :-) @ringofrain

@Jgirlstaypositive wishing you lots of good luck!

A tip I would add is to ask question, the more informed you are, the more you'll be able to make decisions! Make sure you get the information of protocol and then the embryos grading etc...

I didn't do any ICSI for example, I also did a natural transfer, without medication. I only checked when I was fertile by using cheap fertile sticks you get from the pharmacy. The whole process was pretty quick, I started early Dec 2020 and by March 2021 I was pregnant :-)

Ssoom · 28/06/2022 22:35

Hi, I am
41yrs old with low AMH and quite low AFC. Recently had one round of NHS funded IVF at CRGH but only had 1 22mm follicle and 2x 15mm with the highest stimulation. NHS stopped our funding before egg collection. So we didn’t succeed.
i am looking Create three round mild IVF package. MrsMary78 Do you mind if I ask your doctor? I can’t seem to send you message so (I am sorry to ask you) would you please message me…?
thank you

birdbybird · 29/06/2022 06:57

Hi @Ssoom do you mean the doctors at Create? There are multiple doctors that I saw in my cycle. They were all pretty good. A couple of the nurses I felt were a bit unpleasant. One in particular I complained about and then she came and apologised. I’m also 41. I had a fluid in tube (hydrosalpinx) which I had removed a few months before ivf.

Summerishere83 · 07/12/2022 16:37

Hi ladies
Congrats on the babies in this thread, so good to hear :)
I'm 39, AMH of 3, low antral follicle count and will be starting 3 cycles mild IVF at Create this month. Currently waiting for af to show so I can book CD 5 scan and start meds.
I was wondering if any of you who were starting would mind updating us with how it went? Did anyone else switch from mild to natural modified and how did that work?
I was given 2-5% chance so I was hoping to hear more (hopefully positive) stories from others in a similar situation. Or maybe also just starting now :)
I was also a bit concerned. Yesterday I spent almost the whole day looking at stats of the different clinics on the HFEA site. Although Create stats are good, they're always slightly less than the national average. So I thought the national average must be conventional IVF cycles and now I wonder whether I made the right choice going for mild instead of conventional as I don't seem to have much time for experimenting due to my age and AMH.
Anyways, looking forward to hearing about others' experience:)

birdbybird · 07/12/2022 17:49

Hi @Summerishere83 I did a cycle at Create. I was 41.5 then. I became pregnant but then miscarried and the pregnancy tissue had abnormality. I wasted a good 4 months and so am planning to pgta test now. My amh is similar to yours (2.9) and I ended up getting 6 eggs which they said was good. After the cycle we did a dna frag test on my husbands sperm even though his semen analysis was fine and found some issues so decided to switch clinics to one that does the Zymot chip. As Create don’t offer this.

Carry17 · 07/12/2022 21:59

Hi ladies, does Create Fertility do any Immune testing such as ANA antibodies and overactive nk cells? I have ANA antibodies and want to know if Create Fertility will be right for me or is there any other clinic recommendation for immune testing? X

Summerishere83 · 07/12/2022 23:36

Hi @birdbybird
Thanks for sharing! 6 eggs with this level of AMH sounds good, I was told they'll be expecting to collect 0-2 eggs per cycle 😒 how many made embryos?
Sorry to hear you had a miscarriage.. fingers crossed it will work this time! How did you know the embryo tissue had abnormalities? Are you going for a conventional IVF this time? Hopefully semen issues will be resolved at the new clinic.
Good luck and keep us posted! :)

birdbybird · 08/12/2022 07:16

Hi @Summerishere83 i just had another egg collection yesterday (not at Create) and collected 4 this time.
I had 1 day 5 embryo and 2 day 6 embryos from 6 eggs. The day 5 embryo was transferred fresh and miscarried. I had the miscarriage tissue tested as it was a missed miscarriage and I had the operation. The tested it and found abnormalities. We then wanted pgta on the other two. One degenerated after thawing (it wasn’t the better quality blastocyst) the other was tested and also abnormal.
im doing conventional Ivf but with the Zymot chip to see if it makes any difference.

Hi @Summerishere83 ! I was with Create and I also did 3 cycles (2 mild and 1 nat mod), read my previous message above where I explained in details. I'm over 40s with low AMH and I believe the conventional IVF isn't suitable for our cases, it's too much harm on women's body and totally unnecessary. I had 2 transfers which the 2nd one was successful and now I have a 12 months baby 😊

Did anyone else switch from mild to natural modified and how did that work?

I did and wish I never done it, it was a bit of waste of time as on Nat Mod you get less eggs (I got only 1) so if it doesn't get fertilised it's a bit of waste of time, considering the medication are roughly the same amount of Mild, so better to stick with it. I got around 4 eggs on each Mild cycle, where 1 was the lucky one. My entire journey lasted in total 4 months, so very quick.

I wish you and everybody else all the best in your cycles 🙏

Summerishere83 · 08/12/2022 16:54

Hi @birdbybird that's exciting, good luck! How many eggs were collected? Do you know how many fertilised yet?
Thanks for the details and best wishes for this round!!

Summerishere83 · 08/12/2022 16:59

Hi @MrsMary78

Thank you so much for explaining in detail, it's very reassuring and I'm feeling very hopeful now! Congrats on being successful and becoming a mom 😊🎂🎊

Summerishere83 · 08/12/2022 17:00

Hi @birdbybird
Have you heard of DHEA? It's supposed to improve egg quality, worth a shot if you ask me! I'm taking 25mg daily (a third) of the recommended dose), just in case :)

birdbybird · 08/12/2022 20:49

@Carry17 I went somewhere else to do immune testing.

@Summerishere83 I got 4 eggs this time (they were expecting 3). 3 fertilised so perhaps the extra one they got didn’t fertilise. Thanks about the DHEA. I will ask about it… have heard of it but not sure what it does.

Hi @MrsMary78

Thank you so much for explaining in detail, it's very reassuring and I'm feeling very hopeful now! Congrats on being successful and becoming a mom 😊🎂🎊

Thank you ❤ I had small chances too, less than 10%....another clinic told me I wasn't never going to be pregnant using my own eggs and the only way was to use a donor...Glad I didn't listen to them and changed to Create, where they gave me a chance! I do hope it will works for you too, just ensure you ask many questions about the protocols and the embryos quality, ask for the reports so you fully understand and you can take decisions.

My successful embryo for example was a Day3 Grade 1, I was told by people online that Day3s aren't good and best to use Day5 Blasto stage, glad again I made my own choice and follow the clinic recommendation, after carefully studying all the options.
