Any experiences on which one to choose?

I rushed into a really cheap and inexperienced clinic for first round which failed.

I have booked initial consultations with all of these next week.

Any advice would be appreciated x

@Likeafriendivealwaysknown that sounds very intense but it sounds like its going to give you the best and multiple chances!! I think you're incredibly brave to go through it all!

Yes, even though Lister didn't meet my requirements they still have awesome results and they specialise in areas important to you.

So I have a hysterosocopy scheduled mod nov and then I start my cycle in early December. Fingers crossed.

That’s be great to get it done in December. Fingers crossed it will work and be a great start to 2021! I think it’s good they’re doing a hysteroscopy before hand too so hopefully they’ll get a good idea of your womb that will help with transfer.

Unfortunately for me my fertility is dropping rapidly and early as I’m 34. So if I were to just do one rind and get pregnant and miscarry or have an issues down the line with the pregnancy I’d likely have no eggs left to try again so need to try soilder on and get a few embryos together before doing a transfer. The joys!!!

This has been a really helpful thread. Thank you! I am currently looking at all the same clinics as well as Zita West. I just can't seem to decide which one to go with. I am 40 (turn 41 in January). We were successful with our 5th IUI for our son (who was born in 2016) as we are a same sex couple. However we have been trying for 3 years for a sibling with no success after x4 IUI x2 FET and only have one straw of sperm left, so really only one last attempt of egg collection. My current clinic is putting it down to age, however I think there is more to it as I had a csection for my son and my csection scar is extremely thin and they think I have a niche where fluid builds up! Do you feel it was useful having the initial consultants with each clinic? Did they all want to scan you or were they happy with your previous scans for the initial consultation?

ivfcycle3 · 09/11/2020 12:39

@Likeafriendivealwaysknown May I ask where are being monitored? And why did you choose to be monitored elsewhere?

ivfcycle3 · 09/11/2020 12:41

@user1475505106 all the best for your hysterosocopy and next treatment cycle.. keep us updated

user1475505106 · 09/11/2020 16:20

@Dojiejo yes it was definitely helpful to shop around. Its amazing how one clinic can differ from another.

@ivfcycle3 thanks so much I will keep updating.

Hi everyone.

Just updating.

So I've had my hysterosocopy and thry removed a polyp and did a D and C.

We are starting our treatment with The Evewell who have suggested letrozole with IUI. Obviously I know thre success rates are lower but I feel like I need to give this a shot. The overdose of meds on my first cycle of IVF wreaked havoc on my body.

My consultant said that its worth giving it a couple of shots before moving to IVF again.

We start first week of December so let's see how it goes!

I've never heard of someone back peddling from IVF to IUI but hey it might work!

How's everyone else coming along in their journeys? Wishing you all lots of luck!!

Oh and he said that my testestorone was very low, so he prescribed me DHEA (micronised) which quite frankly has worked wonders for me. I'm less tired, I have bundles of energy, I feel more clear headed, able to deal with situations less emotionally and generally so much happier!

Oh and he also said dose up heavily on Vitamin D which I have been doing.

Following this thread! @user1475505106 we seem to be in very similar positions - I have a son who was conceived almost immediately it seemed and he is now 4 years old and a blocked tube has been recently identified. I also have adenomyosis. I’m nearly 36. I have my first consultation with Evewell in Jan and so pleased to hear you are happy with them. I have no idea what I’m doing at this stage so it’s great to read your positive review! Best of luck.

Shinebright21 · 25/12/2020 18:31

@EalingMamaRelocating. Hi its nice to meet you! We are in very similar situations indeed. So I'm currently going through my first superovulation IUI cycle, I triggered this morning with two mature follicles and my IUI tommorow. Both my follicles are on my blocked side but my consultant says due to location of the block its most likely it was a tubal spasm and there is a high chance it is not blocked. I'm giving it a shot, and if it doesn't work I may move onto injectables to make my other ovary produce more. Although I am much more in favour of the gentle approach!

My consultant has been amazing and has seen me through all my scans. Wonderful clinic. If this fails I will stick with them.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to DM me x

EalingMamaRelocating · 25/12/2020 18:43

Thanks so much for the information @Shinebright21. I’m much more in favour of a gentler approach too. Thanks for saying I can message you, I may very well do after my first consultation! I got the feeling Evewell wouldn’t immediately push for IVF from my reading and it’s reassuring that’s been the case for you. Really hope you have success soon.
& Merry Christmas!

EalingMamaRelocating · 10/01/2021 20:44

@user1475505106 just wondering how you’re getting on? I have my initial consultation tomorrow! Did the clinic talk about why your tube is blocked? Really hope it’s going well for you.

Shinebright21 · 12/01/2021 13:03

@EalingMamaRelocating. How did your consultation go? So my first cycle with IUI was unfortunately a BFN despite perfect follicles and lining. I have a suspected blocked left tube and even letrozole made me ovulate on that side.

So moving forward, I am repeating a Hycosy to confirm any blockage and for Jan and Feb I am just doing letrozole and TI. If these are no lt successful, I am moving to IUI with injectables.

I still favour an in body conception with minimal drugs. I fully trust the Evewell they have been nothing but supportive and understanding.

Wishing you luck on your journey! Keep us updated!

Shinebright21 · 12/01/2021 13:08

Sorry I forgot to say they said to me considering my history and the place where the blockage is, it was very likely it was a tubal spasm but now that we've had a BFN and I had multiple follicles release from left side I'm keen to reconfirm.

EalingMamaRelocating · 12/01/2021 14:11

The consultation was great, not pushy at all, but it’s interesting what you say about your tube blockage as I was recommended to have my blocked tube removed and to take treatment from there. I was recommend a laparoscopy to confirm the tube blockage (strongly suspected given the ultrasound scan) and to then have it removed. The laparoscopy will also determine if I have endo which is a possibility although I have none of the classic signs. Just have to hope my other tube is OK otherwise it’s IVF only... I’m having a think about the laparoscopy as I’ve actually not had a Hycosy yet but the consultant seemed to think with me it wasn’t worthwhile.

I’m sorry to hear about your BFN. Hang on in there - we can do this ! :-)

EalingMamaRelocating · 12/01/2021 14:11

@user1475505106 forgot to tag above xx

Shinebright21 · 12/01/2021 14:39

Oh that is a really different response! Which consultant did you see? Mine said to me that it's very unlikely that my tube is blocked. Do they know where your tube is blocked and do they know why?

Thank you. Yes we have to keep going we will do this! And I agree they are not pushy at all. It's lovely :)

EalingMamaRelocating · 12/01/2021 15:05

Hello again!

I spoke to Dimitiris - what about you?
That will be the difference though, mine is very likely blocked. You can clearly see it on the scan! They said it’s blocked either because of endo (but I have none of the most obvious signs but it needs to be checked) or an infection from childbirth. I was told as well that IVF could not take place with my blocked tube as it can in effect, wash the embryo away as fluid is released from it in intervals. My next step is to do something about this darn tube.

Need to remember we are all very different I suppose! I’d love to be kept updated on your progress. Best of luck again.

Shinebright21 · 12/01/2021 16:32

@EalingMamaRelocating

Yes that may well definitely be the difference. From what you've said it sounds like a lap would be the best and it is one of the best surgeries out there to sort many problems.

Good luck I've heard that the evewell specialises in that, particularly Colin Davies (could be wrong, worth checking!)

I will definitely keep you updated. Starting letrozole again tommorow and hycosy booked in next week! Same to you - let's keep updating each other :)

MummyAni · 11/02/2021 12:24

We are looking at CRGH for IVF. Has anyone had any experience with CRGH? Which consultant would you recommend? We want someone used to treating women in their late 30's with good outcomes. All advice welcome!

ThashG · 05/03/2021 16:41

I all @ivfcycle3 @user1475505106

I have ready everybody’s post. I’ve am just started my journey and have been informed to chose a clinic. I’ve narrowed it down to crgh abs lister so far. ( I get one free cycle with the nhs otherwise I would chose argc) diagnosis or root cause to my problem has not been resolved yet. But like the initial post almost 5 months ago has anything changed?

I’m siding with CRGH only reason being is success rate which I understand is a poor measure until I find out the reason anyway......

ThashG · 05/03/2021 16:42

Would appreciate your advice ..... thanks in advance Smile

ThashG · 05/03/2021 16:43

@Likeafriendivealwaysknown sorry was meant to tag you

okokok000 · 09/03/2021 18:28

@thrashg Im at CRGH. Initially NHS funded, now private. If I had my time again I'd still go with CRGH. A number of their consultants work at the Reproductive Medicine Unit at UCLH.

Re their stats, whilst some clinics may have better rates one thing to keep in mind is that CRGH doesnt cherry pick patients. They have contracts with a number of NHS trusts and consequently take on "problem cases". For example when I was looking at other clinics for a comparison, I found that due to my history and age a number of clinics wouldn't entertain me as a client.
