I just wanted to carry on the last thread we had, to support each other through the highs and lows, carry on asking really stupid questions and welcome anyone else going through infertility in all its forms.

I just had egg collection so I'm a bag of nerves. Just so people dont have to check the old thread: 10 collected, 8 mature, 2 fertilised, 2 partial. This is only day 2, hang in there tiny blasts!

I think another hard thing about being on lockdown is how everything has stopped so it’s hard when you waiting/looking forward to moving forward.

Tears are normal @VenusStarr

Hiya @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF
Hope you are well.

Hope you are ok @CloudSway

Keep safe & lots of love to you all

squirrelnutkins1 · 01/06/2020 21:50

Just wanted to pop on and say I'm thinking of you all. Hope you're all managing to keep safe and well xx

CloudSway · 02/06/2020 10:32

Hi all, I'm doing well thanks, bit bored but I'm aware it could be an awful lot worse so I'm very grateful! Hope you are all doing okay mentally and physically!

Where is everybody at treatment wise/adoption process? My clinic reopened last week, I had a scan yesterday and now waiting for af so I can prep for FET. Annoyingly the lab shuts for its deep clean in July so if I get af this week I can start, if it comes next week I have to wait until next month. Doh!

Xxx

@squirrelnutkins1 @CloudSway hi both!!

Fingers crossed for you @CloudSway! How are you @squirrelnutkins1.

It’s been an eventful few months with lockdown!!! My DH got me a new puppy to keep me busy and help with my anxiety which She totally has helped unfortunately our other dog died it was absolutely awful he had a fit and we had to make the hard decision to put him down!!!
My DH is struggling massively with what happened with our fist cycle and so it is causing all sorts of problems he is in in counselling now so I’m not sure we will be continuing this path.

squirrelnutkins1 · 11/06/2020 13:01

So sorry about your dog, that sounds awful ☹️ hope new pup is settling in ok.
Sorry DH isn't doing too well. Have you talked about other options? @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF

Hope af turns up soon for you so you can get going 😊 @CloudSway

I'm ok thank you. Getting a bit fed up with lockdown but who isn't!

Think of you all lots x

VenusStarr · 11/06/2020 17:40

Hi everyone, just spotted this was active again.

Not much has been happening for us, my miscarriage clinic is still closed so no further forward with answers, so we started ttc again and I think we caught the egg last cycle as I got a couple of positive tests, but af arrived on time. Not counting it as anything significant as it's too upsetting.

Big news is our nhs hospital is still closed, no one can say when it will reopen for treatment but my ccg has identified a new provider - Create. So I put in a request to move and they've responded positively, so impatiently waiting to hear about next steps 👀 👀 the plan is to self fund in September if we don't hear from them, but hoping we'll get to use our nhs funding.

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF how lovely you have a puppy 🥰 am I right in thinking you went to Create Birmingham? If you did, how did you find them? I'm sorry to hear about the affect its had on your dh ❤️

🙏 For af to arrive @CloudSway hope you can get cracking

@GreyC hope all is well with you

Good to hear from you @squirrelnutkins1 hope you're getting on OK 💕

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 13/06/2020 11:32

@squirrelnutkins1 thankyou it was! We knew he was getting old but just didn’t expect it we’d only got our new pup a few before and she absolutely loved him but has adapted well to being by her self.
I’ve mentioned to DH about adoption before but that seems to be a hard no but I think untill he has sorted his issues out with what happened it’s not worth bringing up he isn’t a talker at the best of times and won’t really talk to me now!
Yes lock down is wearing a bit thin now and I’ve be furloughed for about 8 weeks already it has been nice to spend time helping DD with school work and just being together but would like some sort of norm back now!

@VenusStarr sorry to hear your clinics and hospital aren’t back open yet it is a tough time isn’t it!
Yes I went to create Birmingham they were really good throughout the whole process the nurses are amazing throughout and the DR’s are very clear on the process don’t try and up sell anything! I would totally recommend them and if we decide to use our last embryo that’s where I would be going! Any other questions feel free to ask! Thankyou I didn’t realise it had hit him so hard

VenusStarr · 17/06/2020 08:53

The hospital called yesterday, my notes are being transferred today :) the contract doesn't start until August, so we're taking a break, going to try and concentrate on anything and everything that isn't fertility related!
I'm pleased that you had a good experience with Create @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF I've not found many people sharing how they found them - lots about ABC which is a sister clinic. Feeling lighter not having it hanging over me.

Hope everyone is OK @squirrelnutkins1 @CloudSway @GreyC @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF ❤️

ivfgottostaypositive · 17/06/2020 13:15

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF

I remember you from last years threads when we cycled together at Create Birmingham (I used to to be @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted)

Hope you are ok?

I ended up signing up to the 3 cycle package of natural Modified IVF with Create and did back to back cycles in January and February and managed to get 4 blastocysts frozen and then did another egg collection earlier this month (which was a bust - nothing made it to blastocyst) but I did end up transferring 2 frozen in January and now in my 2WW

Hi guys!
So lovely to hear from you all!

We looked into Create @VenusStarr, a lovey place and everyone was lovely - it was just too far for us.

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF I’m sorry about your doggy and your OH. I hope the new puppy is helping heal your heart a little bit.

I am all good thank you. Adoption process is moving forward and we have our first home visit beginning of July!! So excited ❤️ Scared too about the process ahead but I know it’s right in our hearts and will be worth it. Xx

VenusStarr · 19/06/2020 08:04

That's great news @GreyC! I'm so pleased for you 💕 exciting to hear things are moving forward xx

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 19/06/2020 10:26

@ivfgottostaypositive yes I remember we are having a tough time of it at the mo but surviving! Oh wow I have everything crossed for you when do you test?

@VenusStarr glad things are moving on for you!

@GreyC that’s great news!! Yes she is helping I absolutely adore her and she keeps me busy!

ivfgottostaypositive · 19/06/2020 11:28

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF

I actually tested early and had a BFP confirmed by Create yesterday. Very early days and taking it hour by hour - I've lost 6 pregnancies so can't bring myself to get attached yet.

Dropping to natural modified was the best decision for us - fertilisation increased to 100% (from 30% in last years cycles) and from 11 eggs over 3 cycles managed to get 4 top quality blastocysts (the best we've ever had). It has near bankrupted us though and we have gone way over what we said we would spend but I just felt like I wasn't totally "done"

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 19/06/2020 12:34

@ivfgottostaypositive oh wow I am so pleased for you congratulations!!! You totally deserve this after everything you have been through! Please let me know how you get on x

fadedout · 19/06/2020 12:36

Hi all I'm new on these boards.. hycosy today says I have two blocked tubes. I have a son but something has obviously gone wrong since then and now. Presuming the absolute shit show of a Labour last time including c section and infection.

Sigh.

ivfgottostaypositive · 19/06/2020 13:04

@fadedout

I'm sorry to to hear that. I ultimately lost both tubes due to ectopic pregnancies - the scar tissue and adhesions from my c section meant they never worked again after I had my DD. It's shit and sometimes I don't think they really go in detail about the risks of c sections and the after effects can be glossed over as 99% of us have c sections because we need them rather than just want them x

ivfgottostaypositive · 19/06/2020 13:06

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF

Thankyou! It's been a long journey and by no means am I getting my hopes up that this is "the one" (or two since we did a double transfer!) hopefully the next couple of weeks will pass quickly before the viability scan x
