Hi all,

I can't see a thread for Dec/ Jan yet - maybe because a lot of clinics shut over the holidays - but mine doesn't! Anyone else out there starting in December and want to support each other? This will be my first round so I'm pretty nervous! X

Omg @Rovera12 that makes me feel better (of course not that fact that you were arguing) but on a couple of occasions I have lashed out saying along the lines of "I have to go through all of this crap because of you!" Felt soooo bad afterwards as that is literally THE LAST thing I want him to think or feel as I have spent such a long time trying to convince him that this is OUR problem rather than just his problem 😕 It's just sometimes, when I occasionally feel like we're on slightly different pages, I've been known to lash out and say the worst things. Although, he's also been known to do the same. I guess we're all only human and if we can get through this we can get through anything 💪❤️

I had accupuncture for the first time yesterday. Didnt really know what to expect but she popped the little needles in, left a heat lamp directed at my tummy and then left me to sleep for 30 minutes. Is this similar to everyone elses experiences?
For the first time in forever I slept amazingly last night so I think just for the sleep it is worth it for me!

Kellyprt1 · 07/01/2020 07:48

@unicornPuff I have accupuncture. He puts needles in ears legs and stomach
Yeh they leave you. I have been paying longer session at the min so comes with moxibustion. I am not sure it does anything either but in my mind I am hoping either if this doesn't work, acupuncture could hopefully help me to ovulate on my own :/

@Rovera12 good luck on Friday.

Nmvasey · 07/01/2020 08:00

@UnicornPuff ooh I have my first session tomorrow, I’m excited. I don’t sleep very well either so fingers crossed 🤞🏻.

Kellyprt1 · 07/01/2020 08:34

I will told by my clinic to take melatonin for egg quality but is helped so much with my sleep. Can't get it from this country but I got it off biovea as advised by the clinic.

Good morning ladies ☀ I've had my first stims scan this morning and things seem to be going along OK 👌 Lining was 7mm and 10 follicles that were measurable with about 3-5 really teeny ones that probably won't catch up. They've taken my blood to check my oestrogen level, but told me to take my normal gonal-f dose there and then and they'll advise me this afternoon if I need to change it based on my blood result (they don't think I'll need to, but it's possible).

Next scan is on Friday, but they think that EC is more likely to be between Monday and Wednesday next week (days 12 & 15 of stims). Part of me is disappointed that it won't be at the weekend (would've been nice to not have to take any annual leave and I'm now feeling that I'm not responding as well as they first hoped), but the other part is thinking "thank f🤬k I don't have to cancel on my hairdresser and my friend on Saturday!" 😪 My roots are a right state! 😂 My work diary is clear next week and I haven't made any social plans, so I guess it'll be better in the end.

Good luck to anybody else with scans today 🍀

Kellyprt1 · 07/01/2020 09:24

@BambiOnIce80 that all sounds positive though. What dose of gonal f are you on?

Good that they have given you a scan already I don't have one till day 10 of stims

BambiOnIce80 · 07/01/2020 09:43

Thanks @Kellyprt1 , it does sound positive enough - not sure why I'm finding it so anticlimactical 🤷‍♀️ Possibly because the control freak in me was hoping for a firm EC date from this scan, but I still haven't got one 😏 Hopefully things will be clearer on Friday 🔮 🤞🏻

I'm on 225IU of gonal-f. Trying to take it as a positive that they don't think it needs changing because things are going along as they should be... that's what I'll keep telling myself 😄 When's day 10 for you?

Kellyprt1 · 07/01/2020 09:51

Friday. I honestly don't feel any symptoms. Possibly bloated but I have been eating a lot of fruit and veg which makes me bloated anyway lol tonight will be day 7. I know it's hard to knowing exactly when things will happen. Only few more days and I will know what's going on.

Rovera12 · 07/01/2020 10:45

@BambiOnIce80 I am happy your scan went good today, all we need now is that positive mindset😁. Do you go with you meds to appointment? I asked because you said u were told to take it there and then.
My next scan is tomorrow hopefully it’s good news for me, as yesterday’s scan did not go well for me but the nurse said it was fine. I have to many small follicles growing, which I feel worried about. Fingers crossed till tomorrow.
Have a lovely day everyone.

rainbow178 · 07/01/2020 10:49

@BambiOnIce80 that's good news about your scan! And at least you don't have to change your weekend plans!! 👍. Is Gonal f your stim drug?

Hope they all keep growing! 👍

BambiOnIce80 · 07/01/2020 11:51

We can be scan buddies @Kellyprt1! That's my next scan too 😁 Like you say, hopefully we'll both have a better idea of what's going on then 🤞🏻

I did indeed take my little blue bag of drugs with me to the scan @Rovera12 💉 They also did a mini stock check and gave me another syringe of gonal-f that'll last me until Saturday (obviously that's made me start obsessing that maybe they think it's possible that EC could be Sunday, but I think I just need to get a grip! 🤦‍♀️). I'm a bit worried about the teeny ones not catching up too, but I guess we need to try and relax as much as we possibly can in such a stressful situation... desperately trying to reprogramme my brain to take on a 'Che sera, sera' attitude to it all! 🔮 Good luck for tomorrow 🍀

Yep, Gonal-f is my stim drug @rainbow178 👍 What have they got you on? I absolutely need to try and focus on the positives (like not having the stress of cancelling plans! 😄). Hope all is going well with you.x

BaileyBadger4 · 07/01/2020 12:30

Hi guys 👋 had baseline scan this morning. All good. Thin lining at 1.6 and ovaries nice and clear apparently 🙌 such a relief. Start stims tomorrow night 225 of Menopur and then next scan is on the 15th. OH came with me to this scan but don't think he's going to attend the next one with me as it was so easy 😊 hope u all have a lovely afternoon ladies 😘

BaileyBadger4 · 07/01/2020 12:34

Also asked the nurse about how often OH needs to be 'producing' at this stage and was told definitively every 3 days up until EC.
Also asked for confirmation of what time I should be taking the buserilin injections each morning and this nurse told me should defo be taking them at ideally the exact same time each morning.. Whereas the last nurse told me "it doesn't really matter as long as it's in the morning sometime" 🤦‍♀️ lol

HavelockVetinari · 07/01/2020 13:35

@Kellyprt1 what dosage of melatonin, and at what point in the cycle were you advised to take it?

Minster2012 · 07/01/2020 14:21

@BaileyBadger4 that’s great!!! Well done!!!

rainbow178 · 07/01/2020 15:14

@BambiOnIce80 I have been on merional in the past and on menopur this time- 6 vials, I am going to be there forever mixing!! Glad your scan went well, mine is Monday. Feel like not much is going on for me at the moment, just doing the DR drugs. Injections have got easier- think I've found the 'knack' now!!

@BaileyBadger4 I am starting menopur next week hopefully, got my first scan on Monday. Glad your scan went well today 👍

BambiOnIce80 · 07/01/2020 15:14

Excellent news on your lining @BaileyBadger4! 🤩 Welcome to stims! 😁

The clinic has just rang to say that my oestrogen is "coming up lovely" so no need for a dose change and we'll see what the scan looks like on Friday 🔮 Feeling slightly less 'meh' about it now... although I bet that'll change if they don't give me a firm EC date at that scan! 😏

Chooklass · 07/01/2020 15:15

Great news @BaileyBadger4 ! I have my baseline scan on Thurs 🤞🤞🤞

@havelockVetinari 5mg they didn't say time in cycle. When my Amh came up low she gave me a form with three things on dhea, ubiquinol and melatonin and told me to get them from biovea as they are from America. I have been taking them for about 2 months now.

Meganlouise1988 · 07/01/2020 16:11

Sounds like good news from the recent scans!! Good luck for those with scans this week. I’m in again tomorrow morning to confirm Friday ER xx

41trying · 07/01/2020 19:48

Well talk about my first mess up.
Clinic called, from bloods I needed to up dose, so that's ok. I only had 300 fluid in one bottle which I needed 450, so took the 300 and go to put needle in another bottle to make the dose and go and bend the needle totally.
So what a waste of meds. Good job I have a little extra, hoping last meds will be Friday night as I really dont wana pay for more.

BaileyBadger4 · 07/01/2020 21:53

Just out of interest girls, have ur clinics advised against intercourse during stims phase? Or what are the rules? Lol our clinic has said nothing regarding this matter at all 🤷‍♀️🤔 x

duckhouse · 07/01/2020 22:37

@Kellyprt1 @UnicornPuff May i pls ask how may acupuncture sessions are you taking ? It is really an expensive one and i wonder how many a genuinely required ... inhave never had any before .. i am undergoing FET and wondering if i should take any ? Suggestions welcome 😊

UnicornPuff · 08/01/2020 07:10

@duckhouse I started stims Saturday and had my first on monday. My plan is one a week until EC and then lots of people seem to have 2 on transfer day one before or one after. And maybe 1 or 2 in the 2ww. I slept so good after the first one I would pay just for the sleep at this point!
The first person I spoke to was charging £980 for 10 sessions this was meant to be a 3 month prior to IVF course and offered loads of eating advise and almost mini councilling session but that was way too much for me! The lady I see charges £30 a session and I am not tied into anything.
I dont think it is necessary if it is too expensive and going to add more stress. I have not read all the research so not the best informed but went with the it wont hurt approach!
