Dec/ Jan IVF support

Hi all,

I can't see a thread for Dec/ Jan yet - maybe because a lot of clinics shut over the holidays - but mine doesn't! Anyone else out there starting in December and want to support each other? This will be my first round so I'm pretty nervous! X

I'm on 0.5ml buserelin - day 11 now was expecting AF on day 7.
Will wait till tomorrow and then email my clinic.

@Dia12 I was day 10, which was spot on with when I was due. But the nurse said forget what’s normal, and it should come within around 14 days. X

@BambiOnIce80 yes I was on those threads right from the start, I do remember you from then too, such a long time ago!! 😩
I have just hoovered the whole house and feeling very achey on my lower back around the kidney area, no idea if that is anything to do with the stims, definitely going to tell DH that I have just read I shouldn't do any housework from now 😂

@Meganlouise1988 I am the same with the pressure. Also lower back ache. I could definitely be inventing symptoms though! 🙄

Tmi but any weeing alot. I feel like I am. Could be just the increase in water. My legs are aching from keep going upstairs lol
That's day 5 done. 4 more days before I get to know how I am getting on.
Not doing housework sounds good but I would send myself mad. I have a 12 hour shift at work tomorrow.. I work in MRI and then coils for scanning are so heavy.. Would love to just have the whole time off.

@FlapJackeredsure i will see what to do about time off.
@Kellyprt1 i dont kmow if i am symptom spotting but i definitely feel nausea and having a bit of temperature.
@BambiOnIce80 jokes apart they need to be disciplined. I got a few days annual leave left for march 2019. I will try to keep my April 2020-2021 march annual leave till when am about to go for maternity if i am lucky to get preganant.

@Kellyprt1i got the weeing bit too, on my way to work an hour ago i felt so pressed while on the train. i almost weed on my pants and i have just done a wee 20 minutes ago .
I am adding cetrotide to Gonal f today for stims, anyone on cetrotide how are u feeling? pardon me if someone has talked about it before.

I hope you're all having a better morning than me ladies! I feel rough as 🤢 Nausea, my first day time hot flushes, loads of twinges - I was even dreaming about having to inject my buserelin with a funny syringe I wasn't used to in front of everyone at work 💉🤷‍♀️ Mega mood swings last night too 🙄 One minute I was being super affectionate with DP and the next minute the red mist had descended for no sensible reason and I wanted to stab him in the face 🤦‍♀️ Finding it so bizarre because I'm usually super even-tempered! 🧘‍♀️

@BambiOnIce80 I feel your pain, I have been feeling really sick on the DR drugs for the last couple of days and have 1 week to go before I start stims! Hoping it wears off!

Yes I am being moody too and proper emotional & down, also woke up with really bad stomach cramps which doesn’t bode well for pregnancy if it happens!!

Had my first progress scan on stims, had 10 follicles in all and lining looks good. Was hoping for a few more follicles but they all seemed a uniform size which is good. There's a possibility I might have egg collection on Friday instead of Monday depending how the scan on Wednesday looks. 🤞

@BambiOnIce80 LOL sorry I’ve just burst out laughing at your post - on New Year’s Eve I threatened to stab OH with every single needle he’s injected me with.

My nausea is better today so hang in there, it will ease! Just waiting for my scan now. Nervous!

@MissHoney85 good news on the scan! My ER should be Friday too!!

@BambiOnIce80 & @meganlouise88 I was the same on the stims after once whingeing about it & hubby being very much less that sympathetic & I said something like “well let’s inject you then one dose isn’t going to kill you and see how much you like it oh wait why not a weeks worth??? I’m the one going through the crap here & having a penis like thing shoved up me every few days to see how the eggs are doing? & you wonder why I’m moody???!!!”

Just finished, 7 at a good size and a few more trying so I’ve got a few days for these follicles to grow! Got another scan Wednesday and they want to go ahead with egg retrieval on Friday. So that’s good news I guess but can’t help feeling abit disappointed?!

@meganlouise1988 7 is great and the others will likely catch up! Hopefully you will get a good number of embryos from that 🥰well done! That’s awesome xxx you should be proud!

Just had a bit of a panic - nipped to the loo and was greeted by brown spotting (sorry for the TMI! 😳). Dr Google wasn't very helpful, so thought I'd better ring the clinic to be on the safe side. They answered on the first ring, had my notes out and a doctor looking at them within 2 minutes (most impressed!). He thinks as my lining was1.5mm on my last scan, it's probably just the rest of that coming away (seems it's brown). They'll see me tomorrow anyway to have a scout about and make sure nothing untoward is going on (🤞🏻).

I really wish I had 2 weeks leave left to not be at work with all this crap going on - it's sooooo hard to concentrate! 🤯

Just had my scan and there are a good number of follicles but all are fairly small at the moment which is worrying. They may up my dose or just hope they have a growth spurt. Feeling a bit worried about it now though. 😕
@Meganlouise1988 that sounds good news they are a good size and I think the numbers don't mean that much at this stage.

@BambiOnIce80 don’t worry, I had spotting in the first few days of starting stims and the clinic said it was normal. They checked my lining today and it was 7.6 (I think) and they want it to be over 6 so it hasn’t made a difference! X

@FlapJackered what day are you on again? It’s so hard isn’t it...I know it’s easier said than done but try not to worry, I’ve been researching since I got to work lol and they can grow a lot in the final few day’s. You want them to grow gradually rather than quickly to prevent OHSS too, slow growers are good! X

Thanks so much for the reassurance @Meganlouise1988 ❤️ My logical brain was trying to stay calm, but it's just not normal for me to suddenly start spotting several days after AF has finished and my inner symptom spotting psycho was flipping out! I was absolutely starting to worry that it'd mean my lining won't be thick enough this week, so it's great to hear that yours is doing well after going through similar! 😊

Try not to worry @FlapJackered (says the woman who's freaking out after a small amount of brown spotting!😂) 💐 Did you say you've been on stims for 2 or 3 days? My clinic don't do the first stims scan until day 6, so I wonder if it's just a case of early days and you'll see a big difference on your next scan 🤞🏻🍀

Good morning, congrats on so many follicles girls! I have a question as expecting AF this coming weekend when I have to call the clinic and go for a baseline scan 2days later. So the information pack says we are supposed to have regular intercourse before we start so Hubby's boys get refreshed, can I ask what happens once we actually start next week? I imagine they would not want us to keep going as we are now, but at the same time if we just suddenly stop wouldn't it affect hubby's sample badly? Sorry for TMI maybe I should wait and ask once we are at the clinic..? I was hoping as you are a few steps ahead of us you might have been told? Thanks!
