Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the fertility clinic at Barts hospital? Our GP referred us in Feb and we’ve just got an appointment through for mid May. I’m 32, husband 36, and we’ve been trying since January last year. Before the GP made the referral, I had 21 day bloods which were normal, and an ultrasound which revealed multifollicular ovaries.

I’ve become really nervous all of a sudden!

@SadieBarts oh I’m sorry to hear that. I see you have been on this thread for quite some time as well! We’ve not yet been referred for IVF or anything like that as so far all our results have been within normal parameters, as we have ‘only’ been trying for a year.

Would you be happy to share your journey so far? I’m sure you have shared it loads of times already so would understand if you didn’t want to!

@CoolSummer89 It has been a long journey, this is the short version. I was originally referred Jan 2020, with 1st appt in Apr 2020, covid stopped that & I wasn't seen until Nov 2021 (MFI). 1st egg collection was Jul 2022 & 2nd collection Mar 2023. Ended up with a total of 7 frozen 5 day embryos. I had to freeze all each time due to OHSS.

1st FET - Nov 22 (this took 4 attempts)
2nd FET - Aug 23 (this took 2 attempts)
3rd FET - April 24 (this took 2 attempts)
4th FET - Aug 24 (1 attempt)
5th FET - Oct 24 (1 attempt and in the 2ww)

I have issues with my lining being thin and it took them to the 8th FET attempt to figure out what works for my body. I expect all this has just made me hate the clinic. There are some lovely nurses, however I do not like the consultants, I feel they have no empathy. What I do like, is that all my frozen transfers are funded, I thought after 3 that would be it.

@SadieBarts Thank you so much for sharing your journey so far. I'm sorry that it has been a frustrating one. Best of luck in your TWW.
