I know it varies area to area and depending how many drugs you take etc. But can anyone offer what they paid per cycle? Just so I can get an idea of how much we're going to need as we cannot get NHS funding.

I went abroad and paid about £3k all in (ICSI, meds, flights accommodation, scans etc)

Twickerhun · 31/08/2018 20:08

4K abroad all in.

Twickerhun · 31/08/2018 20:09

Locally to me the equivalent would have been 7k in the U.K. all in including drugs etc

Scottishgirl85 · 31/08/2018 20:44

Agree with the others. We went abroad and wouldn't do it any other way. In my opinion the treatment is better, and at least half the cost, it's a no brainer. The UK clinics are gaining massively from vulnerable people and it makes me very cross! Good luck x

welshweasel · 31/08/2018 20:48

Uk clinic (care) - fresh cycle was £10k, including all drugs, surgical sperm retrieval, icsi, embryoscope and freezing of remaining embryos. Frozen cycles were £2k each.

BigRedBoat · 31/08/2018 21:15

Around £5k, maybe 5.5, uk (successful fresh cycle)

stubble · 31/08/2018 21:18

2 fresh cycles plus immune treatment, £12k then £8k. Both successful.

Zigzag99 · 01/09/2018 08:18

I paid about £5k for a fresh cycle in the UK. Frozen transfer was about £1,500.

hoping2018 · 01/09/2018 08:21

We did access for fertility - £12000 (ICSI) for three fresh cycles and all frozen transfers and if no live baby at the end of it you get all your money back. Fortunately we got pregnant first go - does mean we spent far more than we needed to - but has taken a huge pressure off the pregnancy and the whole process. And could easily have needed more cycles - it's such a gamble!!

This also didn't Include drugs and surgical retrieval of sperm and investigations so we're on a bout £16000 in total.

I can see the appeal of going abroad but for me it was all about stress reduction (and realistically couldn't have done abroad due to DH job) and we were lucky that we could afford uk treatment

LillyLeaf · 01/09/2018 09:01

@hoping2018 I'm planning on using access fertility, was the process easy? How far in advance did you contact them once you knew you would be having IVF?

Sparklingwinemakesmehappy · 01/09/2018 09:20

ICSI, IVF, drugs, Cytoblast transfer, and scans 20 years ago in Southern England . £5000 a time! We had 10 sessions over the years. Could have fully paid off the mortgage at the time with those funds.

Luckily our first two cycles had the drugs fully funded by NHS but not ICSI as it was still in its early days back then.

hoping2018 · 01/09/2018 10:29

Hi @LillyLeaf I contacted hem pretty promptly but they couldn't tell me if I was accepted until after my consultant planning appointment. Whole process was super easy

juneybean · 02/09/2018 05:22

Thanks for the replies all.

God this is terrifying... like I knew it was expensive but not that expensive!

Need a lottery win

The most expensive cycle is the one that doesn’t work, so it’s worth paying out for the best results clinic.

Lauren83 · 02/09/2018 11:30

You will be looking at about 5.5k without ICSI or 6.5k with, it can fluctuate a lot depending on meds etc, meds alone can be around 2k often more

Lauren83 · 02/09/2018 11:32

With the Access packages anything with a refund element is subject to a medical review so you don't know if you will get those packages until after a consultation when your Dr submits a form detailing your results and medical history, the multi cycle ones have no medical restrictions so anyone can have those if you are within the age range

Twickerhun · 02/09/2018 19:10

Juney did you used to be on bumsnet? A couple of us did ivf from that group - if you need support we are still there.

Cariad2017 · 02/09/2018 20:30

How old are you? If under 35, egg sharing could be an option (i.e. assuming you qualified, the recipient would in effect fund your IVF cycle in return for use of half of your eggs).

juneybean · 03/09/2018 09:16

I'm not a suitable candidate for egg sharing. I have reduced ovarian reserve.

I was on bumsnet but struggled with one of its members... I'll check to see if they've gone.

I pay £4,300 a cycle for ICSI including all the drugs, but am not Home Counties.

Trying2bemum · 03/09/2018 10:52

We paid £7350 for two cycles of ICSI via Access Fertility, no refund. That doesn't include drugs or a few other bits and pieces eg endometrial scratch. Total for two cycles more like £10k. Our first cycle didn't work and just looking at starting the next one.

Access now offer an unlimited package for two years - might be worth looking at that. I wish we had had that option as we would have gone with that.

@Si1ver @Scottishgirl85 @Twickerhun hope you don't mind me asking where you went for treatment abroad? Thanks.

juneybean · 03/09/2018 10:54

Wow where abouts are you hedgehog if you don't mind me asking?

Reprofit in true Czech Republic.

Juney sorry you had a difficult time with one person. Feel free to pm me if you want o chat - I do think about you and wonder how you are getting on.

Scottishgirl85 · 03/09/2018 12:08

Reprofit here too. Our little girl is four months old. Highly recommended. Honesty don't pay UK prices, going abroad is much more simple than you might think. Good luck x

Si1ver · 03/09/2018 13:37

Reprofit in the Czech Republic too, Brno not Prague.

It was talking to people on here that convinced me to go abroad. We would have been pushed to afford the treatment in the UK.
