Overseas IVF cost

Hi all

I am currently looking into IVF overseas, sadly we do not qualify on the NHS due to 36 being too old. I have looked at costs here and they are difficult to swallow with some clinics going up to 20k for one cycle. Even though we have some savings that could cover this, I do not want to blow that much money in search of a BFP when there are other options available. I would prefer to spend a fraction of that cost on the IVF and the rest on my child’s future. That being said, has anyone used clinics overseas in the last year? What was the cost of the actual treatment (excluding flights and accommodation)? Did it include drugs or where they additional? Was the experience a positive one and was it successful?

I have researched a fair few but people experiences are always better than the online reviews as these can be fake.

Ani

@AniSL please could I have a copy of your spreadsheet. We are in planning stage for second cycle in Cyprus and got a large discount (50%) due to first cycle failing last November. We are considering a 3rd cycle if it fails again but might look elsewhere and would be good to compare prices.

Hi both please pm your email ads and I will send.
Cycle 2 will start in September so am thinking to start a cycle buddies august/september thread. Right now I am on a range of supplements for my 90 day egg cycle.

Hi @AniSL - did you consider Serum in Greece? I am considering using them for our final shot at ivf after ailed cycles here so am interested in your research! Thanks x

Hobbes39 · 18/07/2018 10:42

Oh and could you send me your spreadsheet please @AniSL ?
I also wanted to ask if anyone used newlife? Their success rates are amazingly good on their website for my age group (I'm 41) - just wanted to check if they are for real?

AniSL · 18/07/2018 12:20

@Hobbes39 I had my first cycle at Newlife, I shall be returning in September for my 2nd as my blasts didnt make it to day 5.

I honestly cannot fault Newlife, we had ICSI with TESE, because we didnt make it to transfer, we didn't have to pay the full cost of the cycle. They were happy to email or Skype us with the endless questions we had, we were very comfortable with them. Our patient coordinator held my hand when going under for egg collection. Tte private recovery room, literally nothing I can say that is negative. They do come to the UK quite regularly for advice sessions, they also put us in touch with other UK patients to hear first hand experience.

The other question regarding Serum, yes we consulted with them. We consulted many different clinics in Europe/India and the UK before we made our decision.
We sent all our notes to all the clinics, all returned pretty much the same verdict, Serum was the only one that focussed on me, we have male factor. The response we got from them was rather upsetting and tbh to tell someone they have poor egg quality when you have not physically seen their eggs - bad practice, btw my eggs were all grade A quality at egg collection. They also made reference to my lifestyle and AF without even knowing about my lifestyle or AF, I felt pushed to have the period blood testing too, Penny on the other hand was amazing when she Skyped me. Unfortunately the damage was done, the main piece of advice I have been given about IVF is to go with a clinic we feel comfortable witj and have trust in, Serum lost that with us.

I can also recommend adding to your list AKESO (Embryo Art) in Athens, Greece.

I've had one successful (2016) and one failed (2018) OE cycle there and would not hesitate to recommend them. My good friend also went for two cycles there and is now 25 weeks pregnant (45 OE).

Prices are as follows (all but IVF itself are approx as these I had in 2016 so might have changed):
Face to face consultation: £140
Blood tests and SA: £200
Hysteroscopy: £600

IVF treatment which included all scans and visits (I stayed in Athens for entire treatment): 3000 euros

If you want any more details on them please PM me. I'm probably going to go back later this year for another try as I really have a lot of trust in the Dr there (who personally owns and leads the clinic).

Hi @AniSL could I please have a copy of your spreadsheet please, this thread is exactly what I was looking for, will PM you my email address, thanks in advance!

Viletta · 14/08/2018 01:28

@AniSL If you could send me the list, that would be so helpful! Im looking into options and it looks like Czech republic might beat costs of my home town Moscow in Russia! In Moscow it’s about £3k per cycle all included, but flight and visa for DH will add about a £1K on top.

pumkinpatch415 · 19/08/2018 09:33

Hi @AniSL, could I have a copy of your spreadsheet?

RocStar · 13/09/2018 18:58

Could I please have a copy of your lovely spreadsheet.

We are most likely going to Repfrofit in Brno and I have worked out it will cost approximately £5k. Their initial treatment is £1950 plus medication which they told me can be from £1500 - £2000. Then around £800-£1000.00 for flights and 10 days accommodation. Will probably need to pay for a scan or 2 here though before we go as want to fly out at last minute before egg collection. We decided to go out to the clinic next month for a consultation as wanted to meet the Dr and see the clinic before booking, they do the consultation for free. Thought we could treat it as a mini holiday too so really looking to 3 nights there

Please, has anyone used North Cyprus or even Cyprus at all?
And is any of you living in the US?

rintusa · 31/12/2018 12:17

@Rememberallball, Hi am new to this forum, please did you later go to Cyprus? If yes, which of the clinic did you use and how was your experience?

Rememberallball · 31/12/2018 13:51

Hi @rintusa,

We had to delay going back to cyprus due to sale of my mother’s house so we are finally heading out next week.

The clinic we are using is Gynolife in Nicosia.

rintusa · 01/01/2019 00:57

Please keep me posted on your experience with Gynolife. Am checking them out. I have connected via WhatsApp with Dunya and Kyrenia clinic.

Rememberallball · 01/01/2019 14:16

Will do. We fly out next Thursday. I would advise looking intonations booking your own accommodation package. If we booked flights and used them for our accommodation it would cost us about £1700 but, by booking a package ourselves, we’ve been able to choose a hotel friends have stayed at before and recommended to us including flights for under £1100. That’s a massive saving and covers any incidental costs we might have while we’re in Cyprus!!

rintusa · 01/01/2019 16:34

Wishing you all the best and God's favor. Ok, am having WhatsApp discussion with Dunya Clinic on Wednesday.

We are going to Czech, it's £2000 for IVF/ICSI plus meds which I expect would be around £1500 max
