Ha! I was just about to post the last message in the old thread linking to this, but I'm too late, we've already filled it up! I'll do the same as last time and send PMs to everyone who's been on the thread recently, but everyone's welcome Smile

Congrats Shellster!!!! I'm so happy for you! You've definitely brightened up this drizzle-filled Monday morning.

I hope ET goes well for you today Blue.

Glad to hear you're doing well, Non, nearly time for ET for you too, right?

Holiday sounds lovely, Cat. I'd love a break, even if it's just a few days off work to lounge and sleep!

Sorry, not been around much; work's gone a little hectic, so I've been keeping my head down and getting on with things. I'm finally off the Progesterone and out of my clinic's care. Waiting for my scan appointment to come through. Feeling a lot more human without the cyclogest messing me up.

Newby32 · 20/07/2015 11:32

Although I haven't officially started my IVF yet, reading all your journeys is really nice helping me and what to expect!

shellstar congrats it's such a lovely thing to hear xx

Chattycat78 · 20/07/2015 12:28

I've been quietly watching this thread for a while- shellster you may not remember me but we cycled together last year and I often keep my eye on this board because I feel a strong affinity with everyone's struggles, so I just wanted to say a massive congrats! You got there in the end!!!! So glad it's worked out for you! Xx

bluemoonday · 20/07/2015 12:58

Just got back from ET - back at my desk within an hour and a half - that's efficiency for you! Pleased to report that I had 2 blastocysts to transfer, one was hatching/top quality and the other one a little smaller.

The other 3 aren't doing quite so well but there is one that is at the compacting stage and may grow into a blastocyst by tomorrow (day 6, freezing day). My clinic only freezes blastos so I'll get a phonecall tomorrow with an update.

I'm pleased and relieved - great to have made it this far. Shellster you are my PMA inspiration today!

Nonconformist34 · 20/07/2015 13:44

Wow, great news today!

Yaaaaaaaayyy!!!!! Well done Shellster. So pleased and delighted for you and your family. As the others have said you more than deserve this. You are an inspiration to us all and have provided me (and others) with a wealth of knowledge and advice which have helped us get through our IVF journeys. I wish you a healthy 9 months ahead and please keep us posted.

Also, great news for you Blue, two transferred including a hatching blastocyst. That's amazing! Fingers crossed you maybe get one to freeze too, keep us posted after tomorrow. What have you got planned for the 2ww?

All set for ET tomorrow at midday. I've still had a lot of swelling and abdominal pain since EC plus the discomfort and pain you get from a urinray tract infection. It woke me up last night. Has anyone else had this?? Rang the clinic up who asked me to go to the GP to rule out a UTI. Results came back clear but GP was concerned that it was OHSS or possibly aftermath of surgery. He examined my tummy and said could feel a lot of fluid around my ovaries. Will get scanned tomorrow before ET to check them out. He said if it worsened he will admit me into hospital although really don't think it will come to that!

Frankie234 · 20/07/2015 13:49

Hi All thanks for taking the time to reply to me, I have now got the funding and waiting for my first appointment which should be in about 6 weeks so a very happy me!!! Smile

Liquoriceallsort · 20/07/2015 14:06

Congratulations Shellster!!! I kept checking back to get your updates, I was on this thread last year. So very happy for you xx

purplemeggie · 20/07/2015 14:17

Shellster!!!!! I read your news in a very important meeting and have no idea what was said for the next ten minutes because I was mentally doing a little dance around the room. Such fabulous news and you absolutely have the right to enjoy it without any guilt at all. x

No, no news from Serum yet - prob by the end of this week.

Blue hope everything went well for you today x

Shellster that's AMAZING news!!! Well done - you must be wanting to pinch yourself but give a big punch in the air instead - so wonderful to hear!

Wow blue that really is quick!!! Hope you're feeling ok and those 2 little mites start making themselves comfortable!!

cat - enjoy Cornwall - any break is good and you can't beat Cornwall for a UK trip!

Non - progress sounds great! I don't have much a clue at this stage about what all the divisions are but sounds like you're doing exactly as they're expecting. Lots of luck for ET tomorrow!!

Waiting - thanks so much for the positivity boost re OHSS!

Sorry been quiet on here - ended up having a really busy weekend. I actually felt brilliant Friday and Saturday - maybe what I always need is a high e2 count. Spent Saturday at a little music festival and then Sunday in the garden in the beautiful sunshine! Did my (buserelin) trigger on Sat night and was completely wiped out Sunday - it sounds like that's normal though. Good job as it made today come quicker!!

So just back from EC (it's about an hour or so journey to the main clinic) and they got 22 eggs! Am slightly overwhelmed to be honest!! Been given cabergoline to start tonight to reduce the OHSS risk and they’ve suggested the still lucozade sport as that’ll help with the dehydration. A bit sore with the amount they got, so now having a good relax with Escape to the Country and other such trashy tv and now I guess this is where the real waiting starts!!!
Have to admit I’m NOT looking forward to the old pessaries tomorrow - I’ve never done any before so will have to get my my nurse friend on call again just in case I can’t work it out!!!! Shock Confused

Hope you’re all doing ok today - hi to everyone Smile

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 20/07/2015 16:40

Shell OH MY GOD I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!

TrixieRay · 20/07/2015 19:21

OMG Shellster, massive congratulations, I am so happy for you. You must not feel guilty, you have worked so hard for this, enjoy it Smile

Purple your post made me smile. I was walking along the street on my way to my clinic when I checked for an update from Shellster earlier, stopped in my tracks and nearly caused a pile up.

Don't worry about the pessaries Heli they are fine. Congratulations on your 22 eggs and good luck for fertilisation results tomorrow. I found the lucozade really sweet so ended up mixing it with water, was drinking pints of the stuff.

Non sorry you are suffering. I had pretty bad bloating after collection and a lot of abdominal pain, it really hurt when I stood up/sat down and when I went to the loo. When I went in for ET the consultant said my ovaries were the size of oranges and there was a fair bit of fluid. I was told to rest and keep hydrated and it slowly got better.

Blue great news about your transfer. I hope the 2ww passes nice and quickly for you.

Had my follow up today and all pretty positive. Will be looking at a FET in September. He said they see people who have been trying for years get a BFP the cycle after a failed IVF so now I have that little seed of hope when I was going for the relax and not think about it approach for now. He said our fertilisation rate was lower than what they like to see, 53% rather than 70% plus so maybe our chances every month are reduced and that's the reason we've not conceived naturally. He said they only tend to test for implantation issues after 3 failed cycles.

Marymaymay · 20/07/2015 19:26

Shellster!!! Superb news, so pleased for you.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 20/07/2015 20:38

Loving all the Shellsterlove on the thread today Grin

22 eggs Heli, wow! Hope you get a good fertilisation rate out of that harvest. Hope you're a bit less sore tomorrow too and that your ovaries go down quickly. Um...those pessaries were a lot less trouble than I thought they' die, so good luck!

Blue glad ET went well and you have two good 'uns back on board. All the best for your 2ww. I was too scared to do anything for 48 hours so I'm very impressed you were straight back in the office.

Trixie that sounds positive. I guess it must feel good to have a plan now.

Non hope you're feeling more comfortable soon.

newforest · 20/07/2015 22:45

Well done Shellster (I was Osirus). I have my pre-treatment appointment tomorrow, so you've given me a little hope that this may work!

Shellster52 · 21/07/2015 03:14

Thank you all so much. I cannot tell you how much this thread has helped get me through all this crap. I'd stopped telling people in RL because everyone thinks they have the answer 'when you forget it will happen' or 'you need a holiday' and it was more frustrating than helpful. So it has been a real lifeline being able to vent here to people who understand.

Yes I do remember you chatty - didn't you get your BFP last year?

And I remember you too licorice. Where has this journey taken you since your IVF that didn't work out last May?

That sounds like top quality embryo's you've had transferred blue. I so hope the conditions are just perfect inside for implantation.

No I haven't had that pain after EC that you describe Non. Are you drinking much water? I've seen others who've been through it here were advised to drink lots of water to help flush things through.

heli, surprised you are another person on here who does NOT like the pessaries (although you are quite entitled to have your opinion :) ). I much prefer that to all the injections. But unlike you and your WHOPPING 22 eggs, the most I ever got was 6, so with very few embryos, I was just always happy to make it as far as ET and to be in the 2ww taking the pessaries.

frankie, glad your first appt is 6 weeks away which is rather quick in NHS timelines, although I am sure they will now drag for you!

cat, how long did you take the pessaries for after your BFP? My clinic only does it for 2 weeks but I've brought my own so I can continue on until 12 weeks as my progesterone is always borderline in a natural cycle and I had low milk supply with my first which could have been due to low progesterone levels not developing the milk ducts. But I hear of many others being told to take it for 12 weeks as standard, so perhaps my clinic is just being 'tight'!

Chattycat78 · 21/07/2015 07:18

Hi shell- yes I did- I now have a six month old ds. However I keep an eye on this board as it and people like u helped me so much at the time. Again, congrats- it's amazing news. Fingers crossed for a straightforward 9 months! Xx

PipAndPosey · 21/07/2015 07:48

Hi all - am I too late to join in? I'm TTC no2 for two years, about to start IVF in September after failed Clomid... Thought I'd jump in here before the next thread starts!
What else do you like to know? I'm about to turn 35, live in London and seeking treatment at the Bridge Centre...

Congratulations on your BFP shellster!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 21/07/2015 08:48

Shellster I stopped taking cyclogest at 8 weeks pg (so about 4 weeks after bfp). Many clinics keep you on it until 12 weeks but apparently the latest research indicates you don't need to be on it v long and most clinics haven't updated their policy yet. We had a brief discussion about it on here on 7 Jun as I was stopping. NB It's common to have some brown spotting when you stop, luckily I didn't. I felt briefly better after stopping, then ms kicked in properly the following week Smile. Your clinic may just be a bit more up to date than most UK clinics, which wouldn't surprise me at all.

Welcome Pip

Good luck for ET today, Non. Take it easy - it sounds like you need a bit of a rest.

Liquoriceallsort · 21/07/2015 09:06

Hi shellster, I was successful 3rd time and have a 7 wo ds. You are such an inspiration and really stayed in my thoughts. So selfless offering support to everyone when you were going thorough your own personal struggles. You too purple. Certainly a well deserved bfp, enjoy every minute x

Liquoriceallsort · 21/07/2015 09:07

BlueKarou · 21/07/2015 10:17

Same instructions here for the cyclogest, Shellster. I got an extra delivery of it after my BFP, then when I went in at 7.5 for my scan at the clinic they said to use up the rest; towards the end I dropped from 2 a day to 1 a day and am now (blissfully) free of it. The last one would have been just after I hit 9 weeks.

No MS yet, am making the most of this glorious window of feeling mostly human!

Hope you're doing ok, Non, and that you've managed to stave off OHSS. Look after yourself today. Fingers crossed you're good to go with your ET. Definitely keep your water intake up; it does help.

Same to you, Heli - all the water, and make sure you take it easy. 22 eggs is very impressive!!!

Hi Pip, welcome!

helibeli · 21/07/2015 10:21

Sorry non - I seem to have missed a load of recent posts including all the discomfort you've been having. Hope you've had a better night and felt a bit better last night. Hope this morning has been succesful for you too and that OHSS has stayed away.Flowers

I must admit I'm still feeling very uncomfortable. The actual soreness inside has subsided but I am very bloated. Although to be honest I've always held tension in my diaphragm so the fact I feel like I've got a rock in my tummy is probably just nothing.
The cabergoline knocked me out last night and luckily so far I haven't had any of the listed possible side effects such as gambling and shopping sprees!!!!

Just had my phone call.... 22 eggs collected, 20 were successfully injected via ICSI and 15 have fertilised!! Am over the moon even though I know a lot can happen in 2 days especially with our old ages!!! Will be either Thursday or Saturday transfer now but won't hear until Thursday morning. I have to go to Oxford which is about an hour away so think will jsut ring in sick for the rest of the week - no point going in tomorrow and then potentially have to call in sick again on Thursday.
Water, water, water ... and Homes under the Hammer for me now Grin

Trixie good to hear you've had some positive news from your follow-up appointment. I hope you can enjoy the rest of the summer feeling a bit more relaxed and ready to head for FET in September - it's not long now!

Shell - I take it all back! pessaries were fine Wink But I was damn glad to get rid of that sharps box for sure!! Hope you're still feeling happy and relaxed and the next milestones come quickly!

TrixieRay · 21/07/2015 12:52

Wow 15 fertilised, that's got to be some kind of a record Heli. Calling in sick definitely sounds like a good plan, relax and take it easy.

Yay for no MS Karou! My best friend went through two healthy pregnancies with no MS so you never know you may escape it.

Hi Pip, I am also in London and doing a FET in September so will be good to have someone to cycle with.

loopylou1984 · 21/07/2015 13:17

Shell - please don't think I'm a stalker but I had to pop on here to say a MASSIVE congratulations to you!! GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Sorry for gate crashing your thread everyone. X

purplemeggie · 21/07/2015 13:29

I love the fact that so many people are popping onto this thread to congratulate Shellster - of course all BFPs are a cause of celebration here, but I think this is a lovely tribute to the fact that Shellster has waited so long for this, has had such a rough ride along the way, and yet has been so supportive to many of us, on this thread and others. I've still got a big smile on my face.

Let's hope it's you next, Blue xxx

and you, Non....sorry to hear you've been so uncomfortable.

Lovely to hear your happy outcome too, Licorice - many congratulations on the safe arrival of your DS.

Wow, Heli - great crop! Fingers crossed for you, too.
