Ginger!!!!! You did it!!!!!!!!!GrinGrinGrin That is wonderful news . So so happy for you and Mr Ginger. Clomid does work, not always, but it does for a lot of ladies. Last gasp before IVF too - it's fantastic. SmileSmileSmilexxxxxx

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Congratulations Ginger

What a great way to start the week - I just love good news!

ImpatientOne · 23/06/2014 08:57

oh Triple sorry I missed your reply in the excitement!

I had to half my clomid as I had horrible vulval itching on 50 mg Blush absolutely horrific and not conducive to non stop shagging which they prescribe along with the hcg (day of injection & the following 3 days)! The hcg is supposed to trigger ovulation and provide additional hormonal support to sustain very early pregnancy. The downside is you get very real pg symptoms and false positive tests! I am having follicular tracking scans and it seems that along with that you get the hcg - I never had clomid without it so don't know any different.

Yay Ginger (just wanted to finish on a positive note!)

Thanks so much ladies, lets hope it's a sticky bean. Last month too, unbelievable! That seems to happen a lot. It does work, 38, 20 months ttc with 1 Chem preg.

Here's what we did:

Went on hol, drank, smoked, didn't really think too much about ttc, stayed away from phone.
Forgot to take vits, supplements, cough syrup.
Got up straight after sex, no soft cups.
Pos opk sun, dtd fri/sun.
Spent hours and hours and hours researching ivf.

This is after 20months of being a fanatical ttc'er & doing everything & anything that might help.

Mental! Really had given up hope. This is so annoying but it must have been because I was more relaxed. I do think the progesterone cream made the diff. They were wanting to double me to 100mg this month too but couldn't as I was abroad so couldn't be scanned.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 23/06/2014 09:13

london good luck if you're poas today!

kerrylou84 · 23/06/2014 09:58

You sound just like me ginger, 20months ttc, went for blood test after blood test, lost 1stone then started chlomid, first couple of cycles worked as I ovulated (blood tests were around 133 which I thought was good.)then they didnt work so I lost more weight and by month 5 I was giving up.
Month 6 was at a funeral and was so so drunk, had reflexology and had sex every day from the end of my period til day 21.
Blood tests were 47 I think and I'm sure it was you ginger who said that was a perfect number so it got me thinking. Was also my last round and I just didn't think about it as much as what I did, then I was 4days late then took the tests.

Honestly i still find it hard to believe 5months down the line.......I've seen 2 scans and know it's a boy yet I still can't believe it. Think it's after months and months of feeling defeated and like a failure that its taking time for me to get used
Every little niggly feeling and pain at the beginning is worrying, but it's just your body adjusting and stretching, but then a few weeks down the line you feel your little bundle starting to kick and it just feels amazing!

I find its helped me going onto Emma's diary and reading yours and baby's week by week progress. You also get vouchers for some freebies.

Got my fingers crossed for you xxx

Awesome news, congratulations Ginger! What a fab start to the week :)

LondonSuperTrooper · 23/06/2014 10:20

Ginger I didn't POAS this morning. Had an argument with DH last night regarding whether we should haveIVF and was feeling very fragile this morning and couldn't handle seeing a BFN!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 23/06/2014 10:32

Ah bugger london, hope your feeling better. I think it would've came to a head with us too re ivf. I was full steam ahead, mr ginger wasn't so sure. We had an apt for end July to go on nhs waiting list. Don't want to inform fc or dr of bfp as don't want taken off lists yet!

kerry it feels very unreal. I feel no diff. Do you get an early scan if on clomid?

Symptom spotters: I feel no diff but gentle cramps for last 2 wks (thought it was all in my head as had it before) and lots of cm, both creamy & ewcm!?! Kept thinking AF had came as damp, sorry tmi!

LondonSuperTrooper · 23/06/2014 11:03

Thanks Ginger. My DH is just like yours regarding the IVF.

It must feel so sureal to get your BFP!! I have really enjoyed reading about what you did differently this month. Which progestrone cream did you use? Did you need a prescription for that.

I understand what you mean baout not telling the GP. Fingers crossed that this is a sticky & healthy beanie :)

kerrylou84 · 23/06/2014 11:15

ginger didn't have an early scan even though doctor said I should have one at 8 weeks, but when I mentioned it to midwife she said the only way I would need a scan is if I had been bleeding.

You should inform your doctor to be honest ginger just incase he does want you to have an early scan. You will then see your midwife at 8weeks.
Just take everything easy......you will probably start to feel exhausted around 5,6 or 7weeks, I had it really bad but it does pass. Rest as much as you can. It was hard for me as my partner has his 2 girls living with us and he works full time, so it was me doing school runs, housework, going to work, school run again then making tea etc, but as soon as he came home he would take over so he was really good that way.

Xxx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 23/06/2014 11:19

Bugger, just lost a big long post. Condensed version: I bought it from eBay to help with low prog 7dpo bloods, short lp, spotting and progressively lighter periods. 2 pumps in morning, 2 in evening. Def seemed to help.

Clomid: the story continues...
Gingerbreadlady1 · 23/06/2014 11:21

You can get it with or without lavender. I'm not sure which smells worse tbh but I really really recommend it. Think this & cough syrup to help ewcm have been the best finds. I've also been taking b6, 100mg/day for last 2 months.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 23/06/2014 11:24

Great advice, thanks kerry. We're you v crampy (not sharp or sore, more like a turning sensation) in first couple of weeks?

Was thinking about gyming today but not sure if its a good idea or not?

Gingerbreadlady1 · 23/06/2014 11:25

Sorry hogging thread. Only start the prog after you've ovulated otherwise it will delay it, up till af

LondonSuperTrooper · 23/06/2014 11:35

This is great info, thanks Ginger

With regards to exercising, I was told that with my history of recurrent miscarriage to avoid all physical activities & to take it easy. If I do get my BFP soon, then I will follow their advice to the letter and to hell with the housework & messy household!

kerrylou84 · 23/06/2014 11:43

Yeah felt like period pains, still feel them now and again but it's all normal xxx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 23/06/2014 11:44

Thanks london, I'm not massively fit, just got back into it last couple of months so maybe will lay off it. That's something else, last 2 weeks, loaded with cold/cough/sore throat so been popping paracetamol & ibuprofen which is not like me at all.

LondonSuperTrooper · 23/06/2014 12:32

Ginger then you definitely need to take it easy. A friend did IVF a couple of years ago. She was given strict instruction to have a complete bed rest for 3 weeks following the embryo transfer...... most people arent lucky enough to be able to do that, so just rest up whenever you can.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 23/06/2014 14:22

It's a great excuse to be a lazy mare if nothing else Wink

LondonSuperTrooper · 23/06/2014 14:35

Yes absolutely :)

I bet it still feels like a dream to you.

ImpatientOne · 23/06/2014 19:43

I'm checking in too - thanks for the alarm Stone
