Infertility

Help! Just been told we will need IVF. Kind of freaking out!

Had first FC appointment this week and our consultant says that it's highly unlikely we will get PG naturally and will need ICSI.

A lot to take in, mixed feelings galore! Happy that we have a plan but so sad that it won't happen naturally for us, angry that my body is crap and stressed about the whole idea of IVF!

Would really appreciate any advice, experiences and hand-holding Smile

Hi
Have just registered on here on behalf of my daughter who has been trying for a baby for 6 years (she is 30, married to a 30 year old, neither have ever had children) had all the tests, she isn't ovulating. IVF is on the cards. Not sure where all you ladies are from but here in oxford, cut off for IVF is 34 and only one cycle. Not fair in my opinion.

Phoeb - sorry to hear about your dd - but least she gets a chance of nhs (free) ivf and she has 4yr till cut off point of 34

She's still young :)

That's good :)

Docs may try a 6mth course of clomid

DF has teen ICSI twins and two younger DCs one ICI and one naturally conceived after more than 10 years of not being careful.

Still sore and very swollen tum from the gas but guess that will improve in a few days.

Just a very weird experience as never had a general before!

Thanks for asking Smile

Doctor said my tubes are fine, cleared away some endo and unstuck one ovary. She says I may be more fertile for a few months but still on ivf list.

Now I have to think positive!

im still waiting for my 6 week check up app, and been 2 weeks, ie need it in the post for the next month or so

tmi but gonna have serious shagging tom/mon/tue as that's my fertile period and although have been told wont conceive without ivf, I have heard the month after a lap/dye that many people do get preg

maybe the flushing of tubes etc helps ......

if not then lucky dp :)

Hi Blondes and Bunnygirl

Not that it worked for me but the nurse even told me that after I had my hysterosalpingogram upto 3 months after the procedure your likelyhood of getting pregnant is more, its the flushing out of the tubes!

I got my AF yesterday so that was my last cycle of clomid, IVF is the next step for us too.
