amazing tho, I dont i could have done it. She must have been knackered.

funtimewincies · 21/05/2009 19:26

I was still puking my guts up 2 hours after giving birth !

NorbertDentressangle · 21/05/2009 19:30

I don't know, I might have managed it as I was probably still buzzing with the adrenalin of it all a couple of hours later with both of my two.

Interesting wedding night though with a new born baby !

Why would anyone book their wedding close to their baby's due date? Your either going to be huge (like a whale) or recovering from birth.

I could have after my last birth.

KerryMaid · 21/05/2009 21:56

Very odd priorities

stitchtime · 21/05/2009 22:05

i have two stories, the first was done by someone i know personally, the second by the cousin of my good friend in school, (ie, they are not urban myths)

lady number one, dropped her dc off to school, pregnant. and picked them up six hours later, with baby in a pushchair..... [she lives ten houses down from school, ANYONE would have done the pickup for her.... i thought she was odd]

lady number two, i understand completely. she was pregnant. in india. in med school. baby delivered in the morning. in the afternoon, she was carried to the examhall on a stretcher to sit the exam. she passed, became a doctor etc. had she not sat the exam that afternoon, she would have lost an entire year...

I'm suprised the m/ws got the discharge paperwork done in time!

MollieO · 21/05/2009 23:15

They are both in the army and booked the wedding for when dh would be on leave. Baby arrived late. All of which is in the linked article.

hatwoman · 21/05/2009 23:20

what a lovely story.

[small hijack - stichtime are you stich? if so how are you? haven't "seen" you around for ages - I haven't been around as much and I'm very haphazard about my mn-ing when I am around - just click on active convos for 10 mins. hope you're ok]

BofftheToff · 22/05/2009 14:02

I cooked a business lunch once until I went into labour early, got the urge to push, and then nipped into the ambulance. We had to cancel dessert though. Guests were very understanding. I wasn't going to hurry back and dish up the last course though, tbh.

FabulousBakerGirl · 22/05/2009 14:07

No need for name calling.

Good for her!!

I hope they have a very happy time together as a new family.

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern · 22/05/2009 16:02

I think the adrenalin and excitement of it all would have carried her through the day.
I couldn't have done it after dd but could well have managed after ds.
Was bouncing about the back garden 24hrs after his birth having a family barbeque will all the neighbours stopping by to gaze at ds all commenting on the fact I didn't seem like someone who had just had a baby.

flamingobingo · 22/05/2009 16:39

OMG, how on earth did she do it without bleeding all the way up the aisle?

My bleeding couldn't be coped with with just pads for a day after having my babies! The first hours have always seen me shuffling to the loo veeerrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy slooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwly, leaning on Mum's arm and holding a wadge of inco pads between my legs! I cannot imagine doing that up the aisle!

Fimbo · 22/05/2009 16:48

Good on her I say.

I also know someone that dropped children at school and appeared at pick up time with new born in tow.

PinkTulips · 22/05/2009 17:06

i coulfdn't have after dd as i haemorraged but could have easily after either of the ds's. was up and walking in no time at all after each of them and felt fine... healthier than i had in months actually!

would have prefered to be up and out of bed on my feet at my wedding than pacing around scbu waiting to find out if ds2 was ok tbh.

it was hardly a normal situation for them was it? lord knows when he'll get leave again or even if he'll come back, soldiers do die over in afganistan on a regular basis, the marriage was obviously important to them and she obviously felt up to it, and was physicaly able or the mw's wouldn't have discharged her so quickly.

Frasersmum123 · 22/05/2009 17:52

Good for her!

whooosh · 22/05/2009 18:02

I'm with FlamingoBingo-when I got out of bed,DP nearly passed out as it looked like a herd of pigs had been slaughtered in it.
My first thought when I hear the story was OMG-white dress
