Reckong I would have needed a 23tog duvet in my knickers to cope with a waddle walk down the aisle.

NorbertDentressangle · 22/05/2009 18:30

From the photos it looks as if she was wearing a traditional dress so I guess she could have had a 23tog duvet hidden under there for all we know !

One case where a meringue style dress is acceptable

I definitely couldn't have done that - I was being sewn up in theatre 2 hours after DS was born, with my legs very much akimbo.

Possibly could have done with DD from a not being sewn up point of view. Was also on an adrenaline high .

How awful....a woman is meant to feel gorgeous and lovely and beautyful....hardly possible 2 hours after having given Birth...
yeah, they are in the army, but they are young, and tbh....I think it was a daft idea to arrange the wedding so soon after Duedate (and by that I meant the date the Baby didn't come...)...
but, it takes all sorts I suppose...I just hope they don't look back to this day with regrett of not being able to enjoy neither major life changing event properly....

funtimewincies · 22/05/2009 18:56

My mother would be scandalised that the baby arrived before the wedding !

KerryMaid · 22/05/2009 19:32

"The couple are both drivers in the Army and they decided at the last minute to arrange the wedding to coincide with the same two-week period of leave that Mr Black, 21, had taken from a tour of duty in Afghanistan for the birth."

FairLadyRantALot · 22/05/2009 19:35

oh, but OP? why teh assumption that woman has to be a mn'er? I mean, people do exist without ever having layed eyes on mumsnet, you know

Frasersmum123 · 22/05/2009 20:51

Do they really? - do they live under rocks?

FairLadyRantALot · 22/05/2009 20:53

probably...but that is neither here nor there

OllieWollieWoo · 23/05/2009 14:25

Erm - I'm the OP - when I read story I just thought along the lines of what a 'no nonsense, lets not make a fuss and get on with it type of Mum - and thats my stereotypical MNer - thats all. Wasn't meant to be judgey post - honest! And I'm not suggesting that people from the 'site that shall not be named' (NetMums) wouldn't be up for a stagger down the aisle after popping a baby out either!

My cousin did this, more or less - her 7th child (and first with new partner - her DH1 buggered off after first 6). Baby arrived morning of their wedding day, early, as I recall. I saw her walk up the aisle with one of her older DDs carrying the baby.
