Not sure what to think about this. It is in The Mail after all.

I have left my dd in a car seat while she was asleep in a communal hall way as I didn't want to wake her. I sat there with her though.

I suppose it is a bit judgey, mcjudgey but I am thinking that a 7 week old baby should really be at home not in a car seat outside the Ivy or any other drinking establishment for 4 hours.

Is it acceptable because this is a celeb and it is outside the Ivy and not the local Wetherspoons though?

If this was a parent from a council estate having a drink in the local there would be an outrage.

belgo · 07/04/2009 16:08

Just checked it, it seems that the baby was not alone, but being babysat by the driver who was also in the car.

I don't see anything wrong with that, the baby was not alone in the car.

traceybath · 07/04/2009 16:08

You didn't mention though that there was a driver in the car the whole time.

I guess i'd have worried about length of time in carseat but its not like the baby was on its own.

oxocube · 07/04/2009 16:08

How odd? And why? Its not as if they can't afford a babysitter, but like you say, its The Mail so could be a load of rubbish Am off to look at Mail online now!!

jujumaman · 07/04/2009 16:09

If the baby wasn't alone, no problem!

Lucky CE's wife to get a postnatal trip to the Ivy,

twinsetandpearls · 07/04/2009 16:09

Well if there was a driver there who could have carried the baby in if it woke up that is fine

misdee · 07/04/2009 16:10

looks like their driver was the babysitter

Nancy66 · 07/04/2009 16:10

he was being looked after and it is his regular driver and long time employee - not some bloke driving a mini cab.

Presumably they don't have a nanny. can't see anything wrong at all.

traceybath · 07/04/2009 16:10

Not really so different from people taking sleeping baby in car seat out to dinner of which i've seen many people do.

twinsetandpearls · 07/04/2009 16:11

Damn you lot I am now flicking through mail articles while doing that sucking air through your teeth thing.

oxocube · 07/04/2009 16:11

"Natasha, 27, left at midnight to find little Noah fast asleep in the Range Rover Discovery, watched over by their trusted driver."

Not so scandalous after all then.

Habbibu · 07/04/2009 16:12

4 hours is quite a long time in a car seat, isn't it? Poor driver, mind. How fucking dull. 4 hours a long time in a car seat for an adult too...

twinsetandpearls · 07/04/2009 16:13

Am looking at the Coleen Nolan article now and think she looks damn hot, why are they knocking her?

noavailablename · 07/04/2009 16:13

Isn't it dangerous for babies to be left "sitting" in car seats for too long? I am sure I read that this is risky vis a vis SIDS?

belgo · 07/04/2009 16:13

I'm sure the driver is being paid well enough. He probably sat their reading, cushy job in fact!

belgo · 07/04/2009 16:13

there not their

Daffodingles2 · 07/04/2009 16:14

Don't see the problem really, The driver would have got them if the baby was crying.

Springfleurs · 07/04/2009 16:14

Sorry I wasn't trying to do it by stealth I would never have thought for one minute the baby was alone so just forgot to put it in, assumed it would be realised .

TSAP - sorry but leggings without adequate coverage of bottom is just wrong.

Coleen is very pretty though . . .

twinsetandpearls · 07/04/2009 16:16

I cant get past her very pretty face and fab boobs.

traceybath · 07/04/2009 16:18

I just think its typical daily mail lazy journalism - its a land rover discovery or land rover range rover not a range rover discovery. Picky i know but when they get basic stuff like that wrong i just place little faith in the accuracy of the whole article.

I wouldn't be surprised if like the first time most of us left our babies the mum was in and out within about 45 mins.

traceybath · 07/04/2009 16:18

Stay looking at the face and boobs - don't let your eyes go lower

Habbibu · 07/04/2009 16:18

It's the men in the collars and cuffs that disturb me. It's just silly.

belgo · 07/04/2009 16:19

very true traceybath

willowthewispa · 07/04/2009 16:20

Well, it was only for 3-4 hours, not overnight - same as a long car trip. I don't see a problem tbh.
