Oh what a cute baby but

MILKSHAKES

WTF is he on about ??

kidcreoleandthecoconuts · 13/02/2009 13:56

I think she looks fab and what a beautiful baby.....looks just like his mum.

Dont understand the 'milkshakes' thing though??

oggsdog · 13/02/2009 13:56

Absolutely adorable baby.

snigger · 13/02/2009 13:57

I wondered if he meant the 'tightening-up' cramps you get when you're feeding.

I had a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp every time DD2 fed, I practically climbed up the chair backwards it was so painful.

What a wise wee face he has, that baby - there's a picture on the blog of him with his eyes open.

Lizzylou · 13/02/2009 13:58

Aaah, cute baby, they all look very happy.
The Milkshakes comment was naff, but he does sound absolutely thrilled with his newborn son, really very moving.
I have to stop being so bloody broody

Hulababy · 13/02/2009 13:58

He is a real sweetie

snigger · 13/02/2009 13:59

Afterpains, that's the word I was struggling for.

muffle · 13/02/2009 14:00

I think it's actually quite nice (and typical of him) to talk openly about breastfeeding, his interest in it and how it seems to a man. In his own daft and possibly annoying way of course - and I'm not a CE fan particularly - but it's something a lot of men are a bit freaked out by if they're honest, and that's brushed under the carpet a lot. Good for him for pondering on it I say. And they do look v. happy and yes she looks normal (and the happiness of that shows I think, the fact that she doesn't feel under any pressure.)

Hulababy · 13/02/2009 14:01

blog here

I do like reading newborn baby stories from a daddy's point of view. He seems so besotted, it is fab

bluebump · 13/02/2009 14:03

She looks amazing, and what a cute baby!

Hulababy · 13/02/2009 14:04

I don't think he means that the baby is getting milkshakes. From the blog it sounds like he is trying to describe some process that happens when the milk changes - I just don't know what he actually means though, lol!

littleducks · 13/02/2009 14:06

Last night, Natasha felt recovered enough to pop out from hospital to a nearby pub for a quick celebratory drink with friends while midwives kept an eye on baby Noah.

tumtumtetum · 13/02/2009 14:07

I thought he meant the mum had had the shakes when her milk came in - maybe she was sore and antsy and couldn't sleep?

Either way it's a lovely pic, she is beaming and just so pretty, it's great to see someone with a normal post-baby tum!

tumtumtetum · 13/02/2009 14:09

Oh littleducks ten mins a couple of doors down won't hurt

Wish I had felt up to that!

Lizzylou · 13/02/2009 14:10

Hulababy, that's what I found so moving, you so rarely have the Father's perspective.
He is obviously smitten.

Lizzylou · 13/02/2009 14:11

I was massively impressed that a first time Mom had the presence of mind to go for a meal during labour.
Also that she managed to nip off for a drink

neenztwinz · 13/02/2009 14:12

She's not a real celeb tho so that explains it!

stardazzle · 13/02/2009 14:13

he just seems so smitten - it reminds me of my DH when DD1 was born. He was just so giddy about the whole thing.

They both look like normal parents with a new born, they have that gorgeous glow about them.

neenztwinz · 13/02/2009 14:13

I was a bit at nipping out to the pub too!

CHEQUERSmate · 13/02/2009 14:16

What are the milk shakes?

I never had them, what is he on about?!

CHEQUERSmate · 13/02/2009 14:17

oh,x post with everyone else.

squeaver · 13/02/2009 14:18

Oh she was at the Portland, they hardly let you see your newborn there, so busy are the Mums with hairdressers, manicurists, the delivery of Michelin-starred meals etc.

(I don't know this from personal experience btw).

She's not going to be going out for a while, let the girl have an orange juice!

CHEQUERSmate · 13/02/2009 14:18

Can't believe she manage to get to the pub without him that early!

DD was glued to my boobs until she was 4 months!

littleducks · 13/02/2009 14:27

It wont do any harm to her or the baby no, but it removes her totally from the normal mum category and puts her in the things that famous and rich people category imo
