The celebrity has lost his bid for a permanent injunction to prevent The Guardian and ITN from publishing allegations that he abused his status to attempt or attempt to engage in “inappropriate sexual activities with a large number of girls and young women.”

There remains a temporary injunction preventing him from being named in order to allow an appeal against the judgement.

Good, I hope he loses on appeal too. It will be a bad day if the court decides that someone’s (alleged) misdeeds can’t be published because they threaten to commit suicide.

Well I think it’s easy to guess who it is 🤷🏽‍♀️

I hope the appeal is heard soon, and if by chance it ends up at the Supreme Court, likewise.

Squeakytoys · Today 15:40

How long will he have to appeal?

Minniliscious · Today 15:40

I have a very strong suspicion who it is …..

In an interesting and totally coincidental and unrelated story, the BBC are also running this today.

Absolutely unrelated!

I think this sets a dangerous precedent if it the celeb does get his appeal upheld. Victims can’t speak out, and an entire population is being controlled over what we can and can’t say.
The Ryan Giggs injunction didn’t work because thousands of people named him on Twitter, so it became unenforceable. I hope the same happens here

Squeakytoys · Today 15:45

I tried googling to find out who it is but the computer said no

Have you just come off an internet ban? It's the worst kept secret of the year 😂

I think it already has!

I refer those who have no idea to my earlier post at 14:49 regarding the current goings on at Alton Towers.

If you’re just being sarcastic, my apologies 😜

Posters seem to be assuming it's not a lady.

His name is everywhere.

The Telegraph had this on their home page now. A similar coincidence to the BBC, no? I've circled the stories in red if it's hard to see them.

There's a longstanding thread which is currently at the top of the trending list. It's been obvious for a very long time from that thread who the 'celebrity' is

Completely agree. What about the mental health of the women who has abused?

Drivingmissmaisie · Today 16:18

Literally everyone already knows who it is- what’s the point? I wonder whether the person will go through with their threat to kill themselves…
I strongly suspect not.
