Plenty of shops still take cash, Sainsburys, Poundland. I went to B&Q two weeks ago but had to turn back round as they said they had had a power cut and could only accept cash payments. I rarely carry cash but this has taught me a lesson so as well as stockpiling I’m withdrawing a bit of cash each week.
