Sikh mum stabbed to death in her home and husband injured by stranger

I think this story deserves more press. A Sikh woman- a new mum- was murdered in her home as she was asleep with her baby, by a complete stranger with a knife. This report mentions another man was injured, which in other reports turned out to be her husband. It;s alarming and needs further investigation, I believe.

Loads of information missing (which the police probably don’t have or could be keeping secret for perfectly good reasons)

• what was he looking for in those particular houses?
• why did he keep going until he broke one door down but not the previous ones? Normally random burglars try doors until one opens, not until they pick one to smash.
• why did he attack that man in the street? Did the man try to stop him breaking into a house?
• why did he kill the woman who was no threat to him but not her husband beside her who was potentially a greater threat?
• If it was racist, what race was the man attacked in the street and why not stab the husband who was the same race as the victim? He was also a greater threat to the attacker than his wife

He murdered a 14 year old boy who was on his way to school.

Absolutely nothing from what any of us know about this horrendous attack to suggest it’s anything other than a random attack - probably from someone mentally ill.
I don’t like that people try and use events to further their own agendas or pet theories. It’s massively disrespectful and stupid. Especially the speculation about her husband.

She was 24. So sad. This happened quite near to me so there has been a lot of talk about it.

Ps the majority of people in that area are South Asian/Sikh so any random attack is likely to involve S Asians.

We aren’t hearing more about it because these awful acts were committed, a suspect was treated in hospital, arrested and then charged, all in pretty short order.

So, there’s no real time for speculation because once he’s charged, nothing can be reported that could prejudice the trial. And if all the answers to all the questions were given now, he ain’t ever getting convicted.

Notwithstanding, I’m sure the trial and the subsequent inquest into Mrs Kaur’s tragic death is going to hear many of the same things we’ve heard before. At those points, I’m sure there will be much more coverage.

On the limited info available I wonder if it will turn out to be another Valdo Calocane situation where the alleged perpetrator was a known risk that wasn’t managed.

Does seem like it. It's alarming, the level of untreated mental illness in this country.

Sometimes the police hold back divulging certain information which could jeopardise the investigation.

He broke both his ankles trying to escape through the window. Trial later in in the year. Where I guess it will all come out.

The Sikh community saying their woman are being targeted. Just saw a group on the news. It's all women suffering and they don't have any evidence she was targeted for being a Sikh

It’s not long since a Sikh woman was violently raped in a targeted racist attack, so I can see why they would be alert to this also being targeted.

Plus didn't the man in that case have the case thrown out?

Two sikh women were raped within a few weeks of each in a 10mile radius. The second rape was also said to have a racially aggravated element. During the same time period a woman was attacked with an electrical stun device in another racially aggravated attack.

It isn't difficult to see why the community is on alert and perhaps are questioning why this man decided to attack in an area with a large Sikh and South Asian population.

Yes this. And even if it was a mental health event, he still murdered the poor woman and left the man untouched.

I know he stabbed another man outside but he doesn’t seem to have injured him badly and it could easily be because the man tried to stop him. Because it seems he killed a woman and didn’t leave a scratch on the man lying in bed beside her.

If he really didn’t know either of them, that has to be because she’s a woman.

It's not just British men who hate women.

Every rape is a hate crime. Just not in the eyes of the law.

Likely a drug fuelled episode.

Or because the woman was on the side of the bed closest to the door he came in.
