mine too kittywise

Or we would leave the UK

kittywise · 11/05/2008 11:51

I think labour really must have a death wish.

I would move abroad OR try and set up a school with like-minded parents.

I would rather go to prison than have my children be poisoned with the MMR

GregorSamsa · 11/05/2008 12:01

My kids have all had MMR and been fine, as it happens. But I do think that, given the evidence that there is a small subgroup of children who may, for reasons that are still not completely clear, be more susceptible to the side-effects of various vaccines, it would make more sense for the govt to try and define this population and identify the very small but very real risks that do exist for some children.

Then their assertions that vaccines have a very high safety rate for children not in the at risk groups might actually make sense. Even so, I'd disagree with actual coercion, though.

expatinengland · 12/05/2008 16:50

Umlellala,
Doesn't matter where other children come from around the world. If they come to the US, they MUST have the vaccines in order to attend school....unless they have a health, religious or moral exception and you can't just make up one of these reasons....it must be well documented and depending on the state, it might not be a recognized reason for a waiver. Also, sometimes hard to get.

Not just MMR either, but all vaccines including the one for the chicken pox.

Hmmmm. No choice then really. We are moving away from democracy apace. Roll on autocracy.

Milliways · 12/05/2008 17:04

Some Uni's won't take student without imminisations. I work at a surgery and have had to provide proof of Imms for some kids Uni entrance.
