Can humans sink any lower? (Extreme animal cruelty)

I read a BBC News article yesterday about the prosecution of a man in the US charged with helping lead a network of hundreds of people commissioning videos of baby monkeys being tortured. Link: BBC News (graphic)

They got bored of the "normal" torture videos on YouTube so set up a private network on the dark web. There, they crowdfunded to pay men in Indonesia to film more extreme violence, voting for what they wanted to happen next. Two women in the UK have also been charged. One of the British women set up some of the most extreme videos, involving monkeys being tortured to death.

When I read about the murderer "Scarlet" Blake putting a cat in a blender, I wondered how an individual could be so senselessly cruel. I am horrified that there were hundreds of people actively getting together and crowdfunding to inflict the same violence on other innocent creatures. How can people sink so low?

Also, most people would kill a mosquito if it was buzzing around them. Or if there was an ant infestation inside their house they would deal with it. Someone deliberately catching flies/butterflies etc just so they can slowly pull the legs of is creepy.

Sadly I've had a few monkey porn videos come up on my feed where they are being roughly handled by adults and toddlers and the poor things are terrified. They are bathed numerous times a day to perform on YT/SM and are then kept in filthy conditions caged and in the dark. There are also the Asia 'rescue videos' where they deliberately put a poor animal through hell just to get money off SM and likes when they 'rescue' them 💔🤬 It really is a huge, organised affair and it doesn't matter how many times you report them YT will not take them down! One video had a man laughing with a young child while his dogs killed a monkey. I say we set up a GFM to watch these sick sadists get tortured.

I don’t do social media really but needed to find others who felt so appalled by this awful, unbearable story. I’m a pacifist but wish a slow painful death to these evil people involved and I really hope they get their just desserts all of them in prison. I also find it disturbing that news outlets find it acceptable to report in detail on such stories (and similarly on sexual and violent crimes) yet bizarrely won’t say a swear word - what is worse for goodness sake. We need to stop normalising hearing and reading about such grizzly details. Yes report the story but there is no need for the explicit detail, I really feel that needs to stop.

Yes it is disgusting and it sickens me the depths that people will sink to .
35 years ago my cat (from Rescue -had her from 2yo to 17yo) went to the Vet for her routine check . Vet found a hard lump that she reckoned by the size and shape was an airgun pellet and some scrote had deliberately fired at an innocent cat Angry
I wonder if people who torture these monkeys do so because they are so human like and they secretly harbour a desire to torture children.
As for the people who pay to view ..words fail .

It’s repulsive and of course they suffer. People who hurt animals for fun also enjoy hurting people; it is the same dynamic and mentality which is deviant. Most often they want to share with other deviant minds; and psychologically it’s a clear indication that the person is dangerous

Wow I came on this news board for a general nosey but now I have seen this article, I cannot unsee it. I cried myself to sleep last night and cannot get it out of my head. Those poor little baby monkeys and what they have been put through. I am even more appalled at the size of the groups who partake in this disgusting, vile behaviour. It seems to be a ‘common occurrence’ and from watching that documentary that is linked on the article, a huge majority of those paying for these sadistic videos are from the UK and USA. It makes me sick to think we have so many of these vile bastards in this country.

And as for all those interviewed on the documentary who seemed to ‘show remorse’ for their actions - the only type of people who could possibly engage in such behaviour are psychopaths! Psychopaths do not feel remorse, they can fake it and know all the right words to say but I do not believe for one minute they all of a sudden felt any remorse after inflicting such brutal, sadistic torture. So their ‘remorse’ was just an act for the camera so make viewers think that they are somehow a ‘nice guy’ that got caught up in the wrong crowd. I really hope that these vile bastards get their karma in prison as that is the only way they could ever possibly feel anything for what they’ve done.

Sadly this has been going on for a while in some countries and because I watch the usual animal rescue videos they pop up on my feed and there's whole crime networks who abuse animals for profit right under the noses of SM platforms! They 'rescue' dogs and kittens from horrific situations and viewers usually, like, comment, share etc.. completely unaware that the rescuers are indeed the abusers! It's horrific. In some videos young children squeeze baby monkeys and throw them around like toys 💔 YouTube know what's happening because folks like me report the videos but they do nothing. It's truly horrific but they make a lot of money from sick or ignorant viewers.

I had to keep turning over every time the news came on about this.

My daughter and I worked at a primate centre in SA with orphaned vervets, how anyone could torture them is beyond me. I've just come on here because it has triggered something and I've had three cruel 'reels' on Facebook - I wish I could turn them off.

(on a happier note)

Unless you are vegan then you are contributing to the same sorts of things. Male chicks get gassed or crushed to death (similar to being put in a blender) in the egg industry as they have no 'use'. Dairy cows have their babies ripped from them and cry over it for days, the male calves are killed for veal. Lambs have their throats slit. Pigs cry out as they die in gas chambers. None of it is ok, sorry to be brutal.

vegan propaganda tripe.
have you actually seen any of this or just in doctored vegan society videos.

I’ve visited an abattoir, seen calves being born and bottle fed a lamb. It’s nothing like that.

encouraging people (especially children) to follow diets which are ultimately deficient in vitamins for some fabricated political reason is abhorrent and you should feel ashamed of yourself.

Gingernaut · 26/10/2024 02:50

Chicks are born at roughly 50:50 Male:Female

As most of the chickens will be egg layers and only female broilers will be used in the meat trade, there are surplus numbers of male chicks.

Even the RSPCA condones maceration, but in the UK, the majority of male chicks are suffocated with argon as soon as they are sexed

I saw that yesterday on BBC news

Hideous to think people do this to monkeys and other people pay to watch it Angry

It absolutely isn't the same thing as monkeys having their fingers chopped off one by one, slowly. Absolutely ridiculous comment. Honestly

I'm vegetarian but there's a massive difference between the killing of animals for food and this. Its not even the type of animal involved. There is a difference between e.g. killing mice in traps or with poison because you can't have them in your house, and going to a pet shop and purchasing a mouse to then torture to death/kill.

And, that said, there is something particularly disturbing about deliberately targeting baby monkeys. They are so so similar to human babies in lots of ways and I worry that was the point. And all the gloating about how scared it was/how trusting etc. Evil.

Not a vegetarian but I’d agree with this. In criminal law they look at mens rea(evil intentions/ knowledge of wrongdoing). It’s the difference between murder and manslaughter.
