Shouldn't Blackgrid just release the footage?

There is SO much consternation.

If it was as low key as everyone seems to think and Blackgrid just release it - we would have all the answers.

Harry was filming too. His video might help prove that his account is accurate. The Mail and Express published pics taken by these paps but took them down after the Sussex statement. Publishing them so that armchair sleuths can watch is just going to inflame things from both sides besides Netflix will have first dibs on Harry's video

I think it's fair for everyone to give material to the police so that they can investigate. Hopefully they will have lots of info so that they can work out what actually happened and if anyone needs yo be charged with dangerous driving /riding a bike.

The exact same photos and video DM & DE took down is available on TMZ, The View showed it. The content is still widely available online and on national US media.

But what footage can they release to prove they didn't engage in a car chase? Footage of them being in the bath for the entire two hours in question? Even if they were, why would they have filmed it?! And even if one has, presumably you'd require it from every single pap in the New York area!

So what precisely would it take for you to believe H&M are lying? I'm going to guess it would have to be pretty compelling evidence if the police saying they're lying, the mayor saying they're lying and the cab driver saying they're lying hasn't convinced you! It would be a lot easier for H&M to prove they're not lying, and it would be very much in their interest to do so so why aren't they? They don't need to provide footage of the whole two hours, just of one 'near-catastrophic' incident would be enough. Do you really not find it a bit suspect that they're not and instead are happy for even the Guardian to acknowledge they exaggerated their account? If it were me being called a big fat liar about something I could easily prove, I wouldn't just refuse to and continue to demand the other side prove I'm lying. Although in this case the other side has proved it, repeatedly!

Don't be silly!

pretty compelling evidence if the police saying they're lying,

Not true.

the mayor saying they're lying

Not true either.

cab driver saying they're lying

Also not true.

Harry was pictured recording it from the back of the cab - why doesn’t he release his footage?!

No doubt he will.

It is absolutely true, police, mayor and driver have all categorically denied it was a 'near-catastrophic car chase'.

And once again you have still not been able to clarify what evidence would enable the paps to prove they did not engage in the 'near-catastrophic car chase'.

Let's put it this way as you don't really seem to be understanding the absurdity of your request... I accuse you and/or some of your colleagues of chasing my car yesterday across several hours. Please provide evidence that I am lying. (Obviously for the sake of example you have many colleagues, all of whom were legitimately in the same vicinity as myself and all of whom had access to a vehicle). How exactly to do you propose to exonerate both yourself and every single one of your workmates to prove that I was definitely, unequivocally not followed at any point yesterday? Also worth mentioning that the police deny it, the mayor denies it and my driver denies it. And it wasn't caught on the many cameras in the area. And nobody has come forward to support my version of events. Yet still, people believe me and are calling you and your colleagues liars because if you're innocent, why can't you prove it??

You can't prove a negative.

Wouldn't VIPs be transported in cars with dashcams? I bet the police cars have dashcams too. I suspect that the evidence will show the paps and Sussex security driving dangerously but near catastrophic is a massive allegation.

AutumnCrow · 19/05/2023 17:39

I wonder if the Sussexes are planning to come back to the UK.

FromEden · 23/05/2023 20:27

Well the NYPD have said they won't be investigating the claims any further so that's a pretty strong indication that they don't believe that it was near fatal or that any of the illegal behaviour claimed by Harry and Meghan actually happened.

Haywirecity · 23/05/2023 21:43

I'm glad about that. There are serious crimes happening in New York, and the north west train service is so crap, it regularly takes me over 2 hours to get home. It was minor league for NY and uk commuters.

But the most extraordinary thing was Chris Sanchez, ex secret service agent for Obama saysing it was the worst thing he'd ever seen and was scared. Meanwhile NY police officers are scratching their heads wondering what the fuss was about.
As president, which would you rather have guarding you?
