here

I can see the pros and cons - part of me baulks and thinks "THEY ARE HUMAN BEINGS!!!" the other part remembers my g/dad wandering, if he hadn't lived in a close knit community he would have been much less likely to be returned home.

I think tagging has some great benefits, used wisely and ethically.

I think those that object on the basis of 'lack of consent from the individual to be tagged' and 'infringement of human rights' (as I have heard reported on the radio) have no understanding of dementia or severe learning disability. They should be made to spend 48 hours with a person with dementia and then comment on the validity of it.

Every time I feel that the care my mum gets is the embodiment of the finest aspects of human society. She is old, and frail and a shell, and she is still treated with the utmost respect.

and at the same time I know she would never want to live like this. I would never wish it on my worst enemy.

those tage are excellent yurt1, and have saved mt sanity many a morning. Have never used the panic button, but it would have been fantastic when ds was younger and a 'bolter'
