Her family over-ruled her wishes. they authorised a transfusion, but she had haemorraged too badly by that point. she found a lot of strength from her faith and couldnt wait to become a mother.

it is a tragic story and i thank everyone who has passed their prayers and wishes onto her family.

good night Em x

lissie, thanks for posting this.
there is no depths to which the press won't sink for a good story, they don't care that there are real people behind it.
sending love, HC xx

This is such a sad story

Piffle · 05/11/2007 17:14

I had refused to comment on this until I had heard the full story
I am profoundly glad I did wait.
Lissie please pass on condolences it must be agony to celebrate a birth of twins in such trgaic circumstances - I hope in some way their faith can provide comfort at this time

So very very sad and tragic.

fullmoonfiend · 05/11/2007 17:17

Lissie I feel for your sister.
I also parped myself on that other thread as I don't trust reporting on The Sun. How crass of them to publish on her funeral day.

Poor, poor family.

Lissie, I am so sorry, what an awful tragedy. Thinking of your sister.

lisad123 · 05/11/2007 20:51

Lissie, I havent posted on the other post, but wanted to say how sorry i am.
I am a JW, and also just given birth a few weeks ago, and could not think how hard it would be to not be here with my girls.
I'll be praying for them and the ones that have lost a friend or family memeber

... and the media are still getting the information wrong today.

Still saying that her family refused to over rule Emma's wishes when a family friend has posted otherwise on here.

The way these matters are reported shows the sloppy standard of reporting in this country.

me23 · 06/11/2007 15:47

I'm very sorry for this familys loss. I do know however that if someone has explicily stated that they do not wish to recieve blood etc.. then this can NOT be overruled by her next of kin or whoever. They would not have the right to do this. However if the paitient was a child then parental rights can be overturned.
