Couple found unconscious due to as yet unidentified substance.

I find that very odd. But slightly less odd than them being directly targeted I suppose.

StealthPolarBear · 05/07/2018 06:35

Sorry that was about them coming across the applicator.
I don't know what to think about that last suggestion yet.

PattiStanger · 05/07/2018 06:39

I've not read anything since yesterday but my immediate assumption was that they could very possibly be involved in the Skripal poisoning rather than being innocent bystanders caught up in it.

Very strange whatever has happened.

JustGettingStarted · 05/07/2018 07:05

According to the Telegraph, the chief scientist at DEFRA predicted this back in April. He said that they hadn't taken it seriously enough but they had underestimated the tenaciousness of the material. He said that other hot spots would likely be found

OhYouBadBadKitten · 05/07/2018 08:39

sorry, sorry, shall we move over to www.mumsnet.com/Talk/in_the_news/3297325-another-novichok-poisoning

I do hope they manage to recover as much as the Skripals did.

I think touching a contaminated object is most likely scenario. I'm unsure whether Berne agents could deep into materials such as wood or metals and release spores?

I must admit my knowledge isn't great.

What form would that 'applicator' come in?

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 05/07/2018 10:17

I'm also wondering if actually poisoning two Brits would be good for Russia so they can say "See it wasn't us! What would we want to poison two fandoms for?"

But this is in conspiracy territory.

Something tightly packed. It's not airborne so it's a case of the person wearing protective clothing.

Depending how it was put on the door knob it could've been put in cloth like Kim Jung Un had ordered for a relative.

Why are wecvall moving threads? When I checked yesterday this was the only one in in the news

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 05/07/2018 12:14

I'm not too sure @StealthPolarBear maybe someone else started one as didn't see this one?

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 05/07/2018 15:29

Think I'll stick with this one as the original as far as I know

RunMummyRun68 · 05/07/2018 15:37

they are saying a possibility its a discarded cigarette stub...doesnt explain the man getting it too though

Member · 05/07/2018 21:04

The man did cpr/mouth to mouth when the woman fell ill in the morning

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 05/07/2018 21:16

Why would she have picked up the stub though? If it's related to the Skripal case that is. Or do they suspect it's a fresh case?

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2018 17:30

Yes I just don't understand it. Did they ever get to the bottom of how the skripals got it, was it on the door knob. Terrifying stuff really

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 06/07/2018 17:44

Someone on sky news earlier were saying about pulling up materials from a lake? Perhaps they discarded it in there and these people touched it somehow?

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2018 21:16

Police officer now being tested for exposure too

LanguidLobster · 07/07/2018 21:26

Hopefully it will be like the other one and relatively minor

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 07/07/2018 21:41

Here's hoping.

Did he also give CPR?

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 08/07/2018 21:59

She has died :(

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 08/07/2018 22:02

Oh no :(

Condolences to the woman's family.

I only hope the man pulls through. Thanks

Sounds like the police officer is fine which is good.
How long could this go on for?
