Senseless

Yes let's not forget who the real scumbags are. I agree with that 100%.
However I do think the authorities do need a kick up the butt somewhere a long the line. I've got absolutely no qualms about saying that.
This poor women was petrified. She begged to be rehomed. Yet their answer was to just "make the house safer".
But that clearly didn't work, did it. And it was never going to because these disgusting sickening specimens where determined to kill them.

This is a serious serious lack of safeguarding.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 15/12/2017 22:43

YY, Queen.
Disgusting blaming at its finest, disgusting

SinisterBumFacedCat · 15/12/2017 23:23

TDM the lady "bleating" about the authority's was the sister of the mum, she's the aunt who spent 2 days sat by her nieces hospital bed and watched her die. I hope you didn't already know that Hmm

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 15/12/2017 23:42

"It's a shame that innocents are caught up in this but that's just how it is"

The most sickening comment I've ever read on mumsnet.
You aught to be disgusted at yourself.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 15/12/2017 23:49

I have heard that one of the teenage boys was involved in a hammer attack on a rival gang's dog.

guest2013 · 15/12/2017 23:53

Wow! I can be harsh but that's something else. The parent or relative could've done the unspeakable to me, my child or loved one but I'd never ever ever hurt their innocent children.. there's no possible excusing this heinous crime.

Dozer · 16/12/2017 08:36

Fuck off with the victim blaming TDH.

TDHManchester · 16/12/2017 09:22

Oh how boring,,the usual victim blaming accusation,,of course its a terrible and heinous crime,no one in their right mind would say otherwise. The full circumstances will come out in time. The initial plea hearing is in March for those who did it. Unless you live in the grim inner cities with all their petty squabbles you can never fully understand the mindset of some of the morons who live there, all trying to cut out their little bit of territory and respect. Sadly innocents get caught in the crossfire. Its real. It isn't snuggly wuggly middle class suburbia on many of these estates.

ElfOneself · 16/12/2017 09:30

This story is just heartbreaking. I saw the grand father and aunt interview
They had been to the police hadn't they for protection.

As for being law abiding keeping you out of this sort of thing, i had a friend who witnessed something, she was just going about her normal business and some how ended up dragged into a nightmare with a local nasty criminal capable of this sort of crime. So try not to judge

I think people who set fire to houses knowing the some of the inhabitants will probably die are just as bad as ISIS, and a lot thicker.

HalfShellHero · 16/12/2017 21:10

its a horrific crime as is then to find out the mum had tried to get police protection before Sad ....when will the police get tougher on abusive/stalking/harrassing/intimidating behaviour ...stick them behind bars not plastering houses in bars to make it obvious to the community someone is looking for them Hmm

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 16/12/2017 22:45

Just unspeakable

Not sure why I was deleted but if any offence taken apologies hundredfold

One reallly has no words so I say my own private prayers for them all Flowers

TDH don't presume you are the only person on this thread who has first hand knowledge of the problems in communities with gangs and escalation of reprisals...you are not. It's still victim blaming and having a husband or a child who is a criminal ( if this is the case) or even being one yourself ,doesn't mean you have brought a medieval horror on yourself and your babies. We know it's not a cosy middle class world we just don't believe in the concept of a perfect victim.

spottyblanketandtea · 17/12/2017 19:27

How did they thing the letter box device would help? Surely if someone wanted they would smash the window and lob something flaming through it? If they were at real risk of a fire why the hell not move them/arrange protection?

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 17/12/2017 19:31

They clearly didn’t take the threat seriously enough

I keep thinking about this . The fire brigade , police and medical staff must also be devastated to have seen this and witnessed it . I know they are hardened but this ?

What goes through their Minds those people sitting in that cell . They will be in a cell for a very very very long time that’s f T sure

Smashing double glazing is difficult, smashing triple glazing is near-impossible.

Arsonists need to be quick and or quiet if they want to be successful AND get away unseen.

Battleax · 17/12/2017 19:33

That said, when there are small children at known risk, surely you just move the family?

TDHManchester · 17/12/2017 19:55

Queenofwands I have no clue as to why you would think that I was the only person on this forum to have knowledge/experience of inner city estate living.

The housing authority are not reall responsible for criminal acts. They are responsible for providing housing that meets the required standards. The Police are charged with seeking to maintain law and order.

Unfortunately they can't be everywhere. The thin blue line is very thin and they can hardly be expected to post a copper at ever other door where the occupants have become involved in petty inner city estate feuds and squabbles.

Move them? Where and how? Does someone have a ready supply of safe houses somewhere? Who would move them? Who would pay for it?

RunningOutOfCharge · 17/12/2017 20:03

Well no.... there's nowhere to move them to!

But I agree, the details aren't being released yet. Might show it in a different angle when they are

Poor innocent little kids. Just not fair

Queenofwands · 17/12/2017 20:33

TDH I was referring to your patronising reference to it not being "cuddly wuddly suburbia". Thank you Captain Obvious.

RunningOutOfCharge · 17/12/2017 22:11

battleax move the family..... what happens if one of the 'aggravators' is part of that family?

Battleax · 17/12/2017 22:20

This sounds like quite a story to come out.

TDHManchester · 17/12/2017 22:41

Sometimes it seems the obvious is not so obvious to so many..

SouthWestmom · 17/12/2017 22:44

But I agree, the details aren't being released yet. Might show it in a different angle when they are

I'm not sure what other angle there is? Unless you mean a less bad angle, which surely you don't?
