but I am today - I'm blaming it on the hormones - I just wish Bush/Blair/Anyone would drop a bomb on Mugabe's "presidential palace" ......preferably when he's there.

DC - I hate to disappoint you but my facts are correct - and taken from this website which is an AIDS Charity Website.

The same website offers the fact that

"The rates found among pregnant women are significantly higher that those found among all adults"

  • 29.1-31.2% amongst antenatal clinic attendees (30.2% is the best estimate)

HIV prevalence according to the National HIV Survey 2005:

  • 9.9-11.6% in the whole population (10.8% is the best estimate)

And I do find it odd that we're talking about AIDS infection rates in South Africa - which has a pretty low infection rate compared to Zimbabwe where 25% of the population is infected with HIV/AIDs.......pretty shocking especially when you consider the population of Zimbabwe is only approx 11-12 million people.

My mum works for an AIDS charity and they have just funded a drop-in centre for young carers in Cape Town - there so many families consist of young carers and the elderly - everyone in between has died.

I'm finding it hard to know where to begin fannie.
The treatment was to reduce the chances of a mother passing HIV to her child. Not the other way round.
Even the link you cite shows that Mbeki's regime is responsible for tens of thousands of children dying due the government not wating to acknowledge that AIDS isn't a western plot
Did you bother reading all of the article you linked to, or just scoop up the number to try and find a way to make Mbkeki's regime look less bad ?

I give up DC - you seem to think you're the fountain of all knowledge on everything there is to talk about. And this thread is about MUGABE's regime - not Mbeki's - which quite frankly looks likes paradise compared to the Mugabe regime. Of course it's not perfect far from it - but this thread wasn't started to discuss Mbeki's failings.

Thank you for the endorsement.
We drifted in this direction because Mbeki is a critical pillar of support for Mugabe.
Although BBC Jam is shutting down soon, you may find it helps with your numeracy issues.
