The answer is obviously yes, but there will be a whole lot of fun in getting there.

Interesting right wing viewpoint on Trump:

Interesting article and I think a lot of it is true, but it won't affect Trump's popularity.

The National Review is part of the Republican Establishment and its intellectuals are all against Trump, or were. They wrote the entire issue called "Against Trump" when the Republican Establishment was desperately trying to stop Trump and promote their puppets. They have a negative view of Trump and exaggerate his negatives, but nevertheless, a lot of the points made in that article are true. Trump is a tough son of a gun and not a normal politician which is why world "leaders" are "terrified".

If Trump wins, there are an awful lot of elite crooks who will be going to jail. That is why so many in the Establishment and top circles are "terrified" of him.

Trump, however, is facing more hurdles. He is short of money while Hillary has got much more money from her Wall Street backers. The Republican elite funders are holding back from funding Trump and the elite cabal is still trying to deny him the nomination.

Trump is also beginning to make some mistakes as in him trying to change the NRA position etc. Trump is beginning to believe his own hype and may be overstepping his faith in his ability to get change. He has to remain realistic and keep his backers onside in order to fend off the Republican elite cabal who are still desperately trying to save themselves by stopping him.

It is not going to be an easy ride for Trump, the road will be rocky, and it will all depend on his judgement on whether to believe his advisers.

Corey Lewandowski was right to "Let Trump be Trump". But Corey has now been ousted by infighting and a more traditional, professional band of Republican operatives have taken over the campaign. Whether they are smart enough to win is still to be seen. As long as "Trump is Trump" there won't be a problem but if his advisers convince him to change, then the Republican elite may be able to stop Trump and Hillary may still win.

There are no certainties apart from two; world "leaders" are "terrified" and Trump can't be stopped if they "Let Trump be Trump".

Can you produce any evidence of the alleged terror of world leaders apart from half-arsed newspaper articles? And why would they be terrified given Trump's current woeful performance?

JudyCoolibar · 28/06/2016 19:20

I bet this one has annoyed Trump - www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-36641063

I don't know if Claig's still reading this, but if so, I wonder what she thinks of the recommendation by the FBI that Hillary shouldn't be prosecuted?

Given their comment about her being "extremely careless" with classified material, I imagine Trump will make quite a big thing of it ...

claig · 06/07/2016 18:35

Hi, Puzzled

Yes, Trump is saying "the system is rigged" etc and calling her "Crooked Hillary" and has been saying that she shoud go to jail. I haven't been keeping up to date with it at the moment due to the Brexit revolution etc. Trump was on O'Reilly last night talking about it, but I haven't watched it yet.

There is a former person who worked for Clinton years ago and is on lots of US conspiracy type shows who predicted all along that Hillary would not be indicted. He said she has too much on too many people and that no way would she be indicted.

The big news in the States was that Bill met Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, a few days ago in an "accidental" meeting at an airport. Lots of Fox hosts saying that Loretta should "recuse herself" from the case etc, and apparently Hillary has said that she will keep Loretta on if she is elected. But now the FBI has said it will not indict.

US politics is real big power play stuff. What really goes on is mindboggling and no one knows the half of it.

But Trump has some smart cookies on his side too.

Trump still has to get past the Republican Convention. Rumours that the Republican elite are still plotting to deny him the nomination with possible rule changes before the nomination etc.

If Trump gets in, the changes will be huge and lots of people will be going to jail.

"Wait–Bill Clinton Did What To Ensure He Would Run Into Attorney General Loretta Lynch In Phoenix?

Earlier this week, Bill Clinton met privately with Attorney General Loretta Lynch on her plane, which set off a firestorm of controversy, along with commentary about how this torpedoed any chance of having the investigation look like it was free of political interference.
...
Yet, over at the New York Observer, a high-level and credible source told them that the former president had delayed departure from Phoenix in order to ensure a run in with the attorney general
...
The same could happen here, though this person did note that Lynch’s staff was “flipping out” during the rendezvous, knowing that political catastrophe awaited them. They were right.

Regardless of the alleged behind-the-scenes tactics deployed by Slick Willy to guarantee bumping into Lynch, the fact that they spoke for 30 minutes on a plane, in private, is damage enough for everyone involved. It may very well have been about golf and family matters, but it doesn't negate the fact that it was inappropriate under the circumstances surrounding the investigation into Mrs. Clinton's email use. The headaches over this are bound to be long-lasting."

apparently Hillary has said that she will keep Loretta on if she is elected

Ah - I'd heard about the rest of it, but not that part

Quelle surprise Hmm

claig · 06/07/2016 20:11

It is not definite, but this is what is being reported

"In an extensive report on Hillary’s White House plans published over the weekend, the New York Times casually mentioned that Hillary is considering retaining Lynch as attorney general as part of her goal to prioritize diversity in her administration. Lynch is the first black woman to hold the office."

heatst.com/politics/hillary-clinton-loretta-lynch-indict/

Although conspiracy sites are speculating way beyond that on what Bill Clinton might have said to Lynch in his 30 minute discussion, which reportedly was about things such as his grandchildren etc

Trump has got his work cut out to become President and he may not get there unfortunately because the entire Establishment is with Hillary and the Republican elite are still against Trump. Everybody fears Trump, not just world "leaders", who are reportedly "terrified" of him, but senior Establishmentarians because of what Trump might do if he gets in and holds them to account for what they have done.

Trump hasn't even started yet. On Monday, we will find out how far he will go.

Still waiting ...

OrianaBanana · 07/07/2016 12:44

Did he go somewhere?

claig · 09/07/2016 19:36

Trump may pick retired General Mike Flynn who ran the Defense Intelligence Agency as VP. Excellent choice if Trump goes for it. I always thought Flynn was the best candidate.
