In Asia parent put him in forest as punishment they came back 10 mins later he was gone has been missing 2 days now

That poor boy I hope he is found soon.

What is really bizarre is that I'm currently reading a free book on my kindle that is strikingly similar to this story. It's made reading the real news report about this story (which I'd missed until this thread) quite surreal as I'm picturing the characters in my book but at the same time realising that this is real life and real people.

They are still searching

Apparently they are doing 'roller' searches in the 3km area where he was last seen. There's still hope, the weather has been mild and it's rained so there is water. I really hope he is found ok.

They are now 'winding the search down'

He may never be found Authorities say had they known the true circumstances before they began the search (father originally lied and said the boy had gone missing while foraging) then they would have been able to conduct a different type of search much sooner.

Wow, that's an unexpected turn of events. I'm so glad the boy's ok.

was not expecting to hear this news! They are waiting to confirm that it is him but it all looks promising! I wonder how he survived 6 days? Foraging lessons put to good use!

I actually let out a sob when I read the news this morning. So happy to hear this. I don't know what kind of family services are in place in Japan, but I really hope this family is investigated and helped.

When .i was about eight.. I was arguing with my brother in the back of the car. We we shouting at each other hammer and tongs to the point mum could not concentrate on driving..

So she stopped the car and kicked the both of out. ...

We instantly became best friends againand stopped arguing. Fortunately we know the way home and walked home together. Mum was very apologetic. To this day she still feels guilty...

When I first heard this case I was reminded of the story 'a stair at the gate' where the dad puts the child out the car on the hard shoulder for a quick punishment. You then read pages after pages of the mums increasing panic as they drive to the next turn off- and the boys decision to try and find them. It was harrowing.

So glad he was found ok. I'm not going to blame the parents too much. My 7-year-old son drives me crazy sometimes too and I'd be pretty angry if i caught him throwing stones. I honestly don't think the father expected him to just vanish like that.

So glad he has been found now!
