Has anyone seen this? There's going to be a full investigation into Ted Heath and historic child sex abuse.

The net will be growing tighter around a lot of others if there's something in this.

I thought so. There was apparently a film made years ago about a dapper distinguished politician who used to get teenage boys from upmarket boys' schools delivered to him that was based on WM. no idea who the other one might be though!

Journalist Don Hale says that Ted Heath was on Barbara Castle's list. (Don Hale was a newspaper editor, IIRC he said before that he was warned off by Cyril Smith and raided by Special Branch who took the dossier)

Calm is that the group apparently associated with Nicole Kidman's father? He died quite suddenly recently, in a fall and some quite unbelievable stories have surfaced since then.

I'm a bit confused again
the mysterious disappearance doesn't seem terribly mysterious to me, that sort of thing can and does happen.

What's the significance of different branches of the police investigating him? Does it mean that survivors in various different parts of the country are coming forward? Sorry if that's a stupid question

I haven't read about all seven regional police forces now investigating claims about Heath. The reports I have read say that they received complaints while he was alive, but didn't pursue them very far for various reasons - quite often the reason seems to be that the witness was of bad character, which is pretty usual in abused children.

It seems that some of the same witnesses are now coming forward again ( to all of them) and some others, who've recently realised they shouldn't have dismissed what they were being told, are also supporting the same stories.

I do feel for Guy Marsden, Peter Jacomelli's family, and others in similar positions. I hope they're now able to help the authorities unravel these terrible injustices.

Just revisited this, from 2012. Allegations against Morrison are still "being investigated" beyond the grave, despite a inundation of witness accounts :(

yes - likely that in some cases they've done a review of past complaints to see if his name comes up and where it does covering their arses quick by being seen to re-investigate. they will want to be able to say they were proactive at acting to remedy where complaints may not have been dealt with properly by their predecessors

these victims of child sex abuse are all a bit screwed up so we dont need to take them seriously

there must be so many peadophile offenders who are sweating now that the tide seems to be turning, waiting, feeling sick, wondering if or when the children who they violated will speak out

i'm at the point where if someone has been involved in prostitution, lived on streets, drug addict etc I assume they have been abused as a child. It makes you look at the world very differently.

Actually, last, you are right. Studies of prostitutes have found very high proportions up to 100% were sexually abused as children. Child sexual abuse is known as the number one factor in severely dysfunctional adult lives. Most psychiatrists/psychologists agree that if child abuse could be eliminated, societies would become almost crime-free.

If you know a psychotherapist, ask them how they felt when they were told about the true prevalence of child sexual exploitation.

Did anyone see the disgraceful Simon Jenkins article in today's Guardian about how the "dead and defenceless" are being targeted by the current "obsession" with historical child sex abuse cases? He also appears to think there should be a 10 year statute of limitations like there is in the U.S. He may be eating his words soon...
