If you're genuinely interested in hearing what he is about, here's an Andrew Marr interview where there is actually a discussion of his Corbyn's campaign, the issues, and what his political programme would look like:

Corbyn: I want to convert Labour into a 'more social movement'

OP posts:
squidzin · 30/08/2015 20:38

Plenty have died through the current political actions of both Hamas and far-right Isreal.

MyBeloved · 30/08/2015 20:49

But their actions at Sunsplash were anti jew not anti israel.

That's a big issue.

MyBeloved · 30/08/2015 20:55

When have you heard of an American christian performer being forced to release their views about the basques in Spain. ..and banned if they refuse?

So why should an American jew have that treatment?

That's conflating Judaism and israeli politics

That's anti semitic

That's the BDS.

squidzin · 30/08/2015 20:57

Nope.
Conspiracy theory alert.

MyBeloved · 30/08/2015 21:02

Unless you think the guardian are conspiracy theorists too?

Can't seem to copy and paste but pls Google sunsplash matisyahu

MyBeloved · 30/08/2015 21:04

Funny how when faced with facts thosecwho support the anti semitic Bds cry conspiracy theory

EngTech · 30/08/2015 21:09

Labour will get the leader it votes for - It's called democracy

The UK voted in May & it was not for Labour - That is also called democracy

Come 2020 and if Labour get sent into oblivion, what is Plan B for Labour?

squidzin · 30/08/2015 21:16

WHAT HAS THAT GUARDIAN ARTICLE GOT TO DO WITH CORBYN.

U are just repeating your desperate conspiracy theory

MyBeloved · 30/08/2015 21:17

It shows the BDS as anti semitic and Corbyn is affiliated to the BDS.

Get it?

squidzin · 30/08/2015 21:26

The BDS is not anti-Semitic. It is anti-right-wing-Israel, get it?

MyBeloved · 30/08/2015 21:28

But their actions say otherwise and Corbyn needs to disassociate from them.

squidzin · 30/08/2015 21:37

Ok.

caroldecker · 31/08/2015 12:13

squidzin I am glad you feel comfortable with your anti-semitism.

squidzin · 31/08/2015 12:32

I'm glad you feel comfortable with your wild accusations.

Pseudo341 · 02/09/2015 12:27

"The UK voted in May & it was not for Labour - That is also called democracy"

A party getting into power with only 24% of the available vote is not democracy.

Personally I think Jeremy Corbyn is fantastic. I don't agree with him on everything but at least he actually believes what he says and is sincere as opposed to all the other choices who are only concerned with aligning their "beliefs" with whatever they think is most likely to get them elected, which is basically saying they'll sell their morals for power.

I love the way he doesn't play the game, doesn't do spin, doesn't worry about image. What he says is important to him, what he wears is irrelevant. I saw an interview with him happily sat in a pair of what shorts and a jumper, can't imagine any of the other three would do that.

I also respect his approach to HAMAS and people like them. There are some very unpleasant people in this world and it's generally not very effective to just claim the moral high ground and make threats against them. Yes you have the satisfaction of being oh so very right but it doesn't do a thing to help those who are suffering. Politicians need to be able to talk to these people and negotiate with them. It's a distasteful job and not one I'd have the first clue how to attempt but I feel we must at least try and find a way to deal with these people.

WorriedMutha · 02/09/2015 12:39

Fast forward a few weeks and assuming JC wins, who would care to put together a fantasy shadow cabinet?

EngTech · 02/09/2015 21:43

Pseudo431 noted.

Remind me who is PM?

The voting system we have produced the result. If Labour had got in with that perecentage, would you be complaining?

Solopower1 · 02/09/2015 22:05

JC getting to be leader of the Labour Party is real democracy though.

It might split the Labour Party, as there is a huge chasm between the left and right of the party. A few years down the line we could end up with lots of small parties in Parliament, rather than two or three big ones, but that might also be good for democracy, as we would have more choice.

But then there is the law of unintended consequences ...

What if it meant UKIP and other horrors got more MPs? Not sure if that is a price we could pay for the expression of the will of the people.

But it's great to know JC has so much support.

caroldecker · 03/09/2015 00:42

JC only has support from those voting - many people who do not 'share Labour values', including many Green party supporters have been kicked off the vote.
Winning a vote from people who you decide 'share your values' is shooting fish in a barrel.

BlahBlahUsername · 03/09/2015 10:25

Well, hasn't there been a problem with people who support other parties deliberately trying to "sabotage" the vote by voting for Corbyn? I can see why they would want to ensure there is no reason for the validity of the result of the vote to be called into question.

Gottagetmoving · 09/09/2015 15:20

It is a relief to have the chance to get a socialist leader at last, and one with principles at that!
I doubt he will change what he believes and says to be popular.
I don't trust any of the others to be true to themselves or to us.

Scoobydoo8 · 12/09/2015 14:26

I don't vote labour but I think that politicians totally misread the public view and pay too much attention to the media.

Most people are concerned about the growing gap between rich and poor and most people imo are still peed off that the bankers walked away without retribution.

Someone fighting for the have nots is understandably welcomed by many.

Inkanta · 12/09/2015 15:43

Corbyn is obviously a great communicator and whatever your political persuasion his leadership skills and also his speech today were impressive, and he took care of everyone. This could be a new era in politics So pleased he got in with such a large majority. I hope he lasts.

Isitmebut · 16/09/2015 09:29

The problem of Corbyn being an anti establishment ??old dog??, is that he cannot even pretend to learn a new trick and basically even like the UK establishment he may one day represent as PM.

Not bringing yourself to sing the National Anthem yesterday on the 75th services anniversary was not just disrespectful to the Queen, I could handle that, but disrespectful to those who have EVER fought for queen and country.

Just looking at him you can tell that he does not want to be in any limelight unless reciting Citizen ??Wolfie?? Smith type class rhetoric; the apparent sneer or general look of being uncomfortable suggests that he would not just rather be sorting out his own sock drawer, he??d happily take an enema instead.

While I respect that political passion can take several forms, I suspect that Mr Corbyn will decide that professional opposition from the back of the room is more for him than leading from the front - before the Labour movement/membership.
