CountessDracula · 13/11/2006 11:04

I nearly fell off a ferry once because I had set my skirt on fire and was trying to put it out, stumbled into the side railings

TheHighwayCod · 13/11/2006 11:04

Who fell off a ferry?

WTF?

You can't even go outside on some of them. Like the SeaCat between Scotland and Belfast.

TheHighwayCod · 13/11/2006 11:04

i once vomited tomato juice over the side of one

( the epitome of chic when oyu are 10)

Were you smoking at the time CD ?

I never go out on deck on ferries anyway, not that I travel on them often. In fact I have probably only been on a ferry about 4 times in my life.

expatinscotland · 13/11/2006 11:05

I stayed in the toilet the entire time between Dover and Calais once. Spewing my guts into the loo.

Never been more seasick in my life.

charliecat · 13/11/2006 11:05

sorry but something about this is making me laugh

TheHighwayCod · 13/11/2006 11:06

I went on the SeaCat from Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire, I was sick as a pig

CountessDracula · 13/11/2006 11:07

actually I was smoking a spliff and a big blim fell on my dippy hippy skirt which burst into flames. Most inconvenient

TheHighwayCod · 13/11/2006 11:08

has anyoen ever gone to santander on a ferry?
cant imagine more horror

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 13/11/2006 11:08

It's weird b/c I've never been sick on a ferry since, and I have done the Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire as well.

NomDePlume · 13/11/2006 11:08

Told you it was bad for your health

expatinscotland · 13/11/2006 11:08

We're also thinking of doing the Rosyth to Calais one b/c you get free wine.

CountessDracula · 13/11/2006 11:09

yes but imagine how vile the wine must be!

Smurfgirl · 13/11/2006 11:13

Sanander on the ferry is ok. Bibaou on the ferry was living hell.

Parents. Its not fun or jolly to be on a ferry for 24 hours. Don't kid yourself.

LadyTophamHatt · 13/11/2006 11:23

I've been on the santander and bilbao ferries.

Thought I was going to die from travel sickness on one. AFAIK P&O got in a load of shit because they shouldn't have sailed because the sea was so stormy and dangerous. Poeple tried to sue them or something.....I was just glad to get off the bloody thing.

suedonim · 13/11/2006 13:31

I once got travel-sick on the ferry across Lake Windermere.

calebsmum · 13/11/2006 23:14

They've been found alive and well in Belgium!

here

TeeJaye · 13/11/2006 23:22

suedonim, I've been sea sick on a pedalo.

jampots · 13/11/2006 23:36

ive done holyhead to dun laoghraigh too on the seacat- after stupidly deciding to take childrenm to the shop at the BACK OF THE FRIGGING thing I swiftly made my way to teh front where it wasnt so bad

moondog · 13/11/2006 23:56

Our secretary worked in the duty free shop on the Holyhead-Dublin ferry for yonks.

Am always pressing her to regale me with tales of life on the high seas.

She has actually seen three people climb over the balcony and fling themselves to their death.
