I couldn't believe it when he said yesterday he was late for a UKIP event – standing up dozens of supporters who had paid £25 for tickets to see him Hmm – because immigration was to blame for heavy traffic on the M4.

On top of the breastfeeding fandango, does anyone else think he is taking the piss? It's like he has started to notice that however outrageously reactionary and nonsensical he is, he just gets more support so he's just seeing how far he can push it?

Then one day he will just say "Actually I was just having you on heh heh! You all went for it! I'm actually a comedian."

Claig ... you tell me that UKIP is doing so well, and then ask when am I "going to stop bitching about UKIP".

I'll stop bitching about it when U-kippers stop pretending a vote for UKIP is a vote to leave the EU, when as UKIP takes more votes from the ONLY party in Westminster offering a potential REferendum exit, the likelihood of of an ultra PRO EU Labour/Lib Dem/Scottish SNP combo in 2015 - ENSURES WE STAY IN, no questions asked.

“Uncomfortable Coalitions Or Chaos Ahead?”

“With UKIP on the rise, Sky's election analyst Prof Michael Thrasher examines the scenarios for a hung parliament in May.”
news.sky.com/story/1377174/uncomfortable-coalitions-or-chaos-ahead

”The 2015 General Election and its aftermath: Here are four scenarios for a Hung Parliament.”

  1. Lab/Lib Dem Coalition
”UKIP capitalise on taking Rochester and Strood by taking real momentum into the General Election.”

”Nigel Farage's party steals vote share from the Conservatives (thereby wrecking their chances of gaining Lib Dem seats and increasing the number of its losses to Labour) and captures about 10 seats as well.”

”Result is a Hung Parliament with Labour the largest party and the Lib Dems on about 40 seats having lost 17 seats mostly to Labour. Likely scenario would be a Lab/Lib Dem Coalition.”

claig · 08/12/2014 14:28

'I'll stop bitching about it when U-kippers stop pretending a vote for UKIP is a vote to leave the EU'

Don't you understand that the people of Clacton who voted UKIP in the biggest landslide in postwar British parliamentary history don't all care about leaving the EU?

Doesn't Cameron understand that a vote for UKIP is not just an anti-EU vote or an anti-immigration vote, but is an anti-Cameron and anti-Miliband vote and a vote for PR, direct democracy, local referenda, an end to the climate change crap, an end to political correctness, a vote for common sense, a vote for lower taxation, a return of grammar schools etc etc?

Forget harping on about the EU referendum, that won't save the Tories because it is about much, much more than that.

Isitmebut · 08/12/2014 14:46

Claig ... 'Don't you understand' that The Conservatives have won ONE by-election (known for 'sticking it to' governments) in 25-years?

'Don't you understand', or feel concerned, that it has taken two sitting Conservatives defecting to UKIP, to do what 550(?) home smoked 'kippers standing for Westminster in 2010, could NOT do - as Farage clearly does, still kicking out loyal UKIP potential candidates, for 'upgrades'?

'Don't you understand', or feel concerned, that UKIP having dissed their OWN WHOLE 2010 General Election manifesto as "drivel" (after the votes were in) , is in no position to lecture ANYONE on policies?

'Don't you understand', or feel concerned that not standing for anything, promising EU/immigration exits UKIP can never deliver, that arguing for proportional representation make UKIP look the most opportunist political turds in UK political history?

Only when UKIP stands by their OWN UK domestic policy manifesto for the during of one whole parliament, they have the RIGHT to criticise ANY OTHER parties policies, or ask for any constitutional change e.g. PR. IMO.

claig · 08/12/2014 15:06

Who are you to tell voters what to do? If they like UKIP, and a lot of them do, then it is their choice to vote UKIP. For Cameron and the chums, it's their fault and now it's over.

Selks · 08/12/2014 15:41

He is an utter joke. I can't understand how anyone with intelligence can bring themselves to vote UKIP.

Isitmebut · 08/12/2014 15:45

"For Cameron and the chums, it's their fault and now it's over."

Whats is their fault;

The 2010 immigration problem?

The 2010 Unemployment problem, many of whole were left on a 'don't give a shit heap' when pushed aside to allow 2-3 million new citizens come in.

The 2010 EU moving closer to a Federalist State problem?

The 2010 Housing problem, with new builds for years at decade long lows, home ownership percentages at decades long lows and 5 million (1.7 million families) needing social housing/bedrooms?

The 2010 £157 bil budget deficit problem?

The 2010 Accumulating National Debt problem?

The 2010 aftermath of the worst recession in over 80-years that was not there, with any of the above crisis problems, in 1997 when they handed government over to Labour?

The 2010 Coalition with a left wing party thanks to just 3% of the people voting UKIP?

Claig .... I will compare the record of a Conservative government over 5-years with any UKIP Party that CAN'T EVEN DECIDE WHAT IT'S POLICIES ARE IN 2010, any day of the week and 'kin laugh at the poster who tells me UKIP is therefore the answer.

Especially a poster, posting on behalf of the United Kingdom Independence Party, who's party now don't want to leave the EU as they now want Westminster power instead, for UK domestic policies they have never got their heads around and certainly have no better solutions of their own.

Viviennemary · 08/12/2014 15:55

It means the country has run out of choices and is being dictated to by the EU which is absolutely not what people in this country voted for. The EU is a monumental monster that will end in disaster. That's my opinion. And Labour is no better. Always going on about what they will do to solve housing shortage and youth unemployment when they did little about either problem when they were in power.

LineRunner · 08/12/2014 16:09

UKIP 'a vote for common sense'?

Do me favour.

The day I vote for a Party presided over by a man who gets into bed with holocaust deniers in Europe is the day you can call for the men in white coats.

Isitmebut · 08/12/2014 16:10

Viviennemary ... re the EU, for the most part I agree with you, but even though I have read a bit over the years, I DO NOT KNOW on balance, if we will be better off outside - we need to see all the qualified facts, from both sides e.g. how will we lose 3 million jobs in out, and then democratically vote on it.

We did not vote to go into the EU several years ago before the Lisbon treaty was signed, even though we were told by the party that took us in back in 1997 that we would.

But please tell me how UKIP will bring us out, or through some 2015 onwards political chaos (adding to the financial one when playing with a fragile recovery in a economically frail world), they will encourage ANY business, never mind home builders, to invest any more money in the UK, when until 2020 there will be 2,3 maybe 4 parties in a coalition squabbling?

Viviennemary · 08/12/2014 16:29

I don't know any of those answers. But I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if the whole thing went into financial meltdown with all these countries with a poorer economy joining. It will end in disaster or worse. If there is complete free movement of people and access to benefits in better off countries how can these countries sustain this. I don't think we are being told the truth about this.

Isitmebut · 08/12/2014 16:40

Viviennemary ...FYI UKIP can't, and there is more to a successful economy than just worrying about immigrants, although if/when our economy crashes and there are no jobs. you will get your wish and less will come here.

The UK has the ability to attracts a lot more 'inward investment' = jobs and tax receipts from 'foreigners', but just look at Bloomberg, the international financial news agency, tells this threads story, in particular how it represents UKIP and supporters;

www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-12-08/ukip-s-farage-blames-immigrants-for-increasing-traffic-delays.html

“Farage’s party has seen its support rise since the 2010 election by moving its focus from leaving the European Union to attacking immigration and other aspects of life that its mainly older supporters dislike. Last week, Farage suggested restaurants should be allowed to ask breastfeeding women to sit in corners, because the sight of them might upset some people."

Seriously, as a foreign CEO, of a foreign company, looking at the UK as an option to bring their companies and investments/jobs - what with some parties that will want to put extra penal taxes on their homes and incomes AND the anti foreigner influencies of UKIP - would YOU risk coming to the UK after 2015??

Icimoi · 08/12/2014 20:33

But I have looked at his twitter over this one and he seems to be defending himself and saying that other politicians have said similar. To me it does seem like a stupid thing to say, so I guess he may have done it deliberately to possibly get more outraged publicity and to possibly win more votes.

So, it's OK with you, claim, that he lied deliberately in order to attract votes?

claig · 08/12/2014 21:07

I don't know if he did or if he was joking. I am not sure.

But if he did, then I said I think it is a stupid thing to say and is not nice, but politics is not nice and politicians sometimes say things in order to gain advantage and get publicity. I don't like it, but they all do things like that.

Isitmebut · 09/12/2014 00:59

Oh dear, UKIP and Farage's women 'rising stars', never last long - as another ex/failed Tory joining UKIP bites the dust.

“Ukip general secretary Roger Bird suspended over harassment claim by high-profile female candidate Natasha Bolter”
www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/ukip-general-secretary-roger-bird-suspended-over-allegations-of-impropriety-9911433.html

”Ukip has been plunged into a fresh crisis after one of its most high-profile female candidates quit the party, claiming she was harassed by its general secretary.”

”Natasha Bolter, an Oxford-educated former Labour party activist, claims that she was propositioned by the party’s general secretary Roger Bird on the day she was interviewed as a prospective candidate.”

And previous 'stars';

“I can't campaign for Ukip any longer, says party's 'future face' Alexandra Swann over concerns with immigration stance”

As another failed, nay 'disgraced' Conservative MP find a home in UKIP, desperate for Conservatives to win seats 550 odd, very odd, UKIP candidates could not achieve in the 2010 General Election.

“Disgraced ex-Tory MP Neil Hamilton in line to make stunning Commons comeback for Ukip”
www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/disgraced-extory-mp-neil-hamilton-in-line-to-make-stunning-commons-comeback-for-ukip-9911421.html

”Neil Hamilton, the disgraced former Conservative MP, could be on the verge of a parliamentary comeback at the age of 65 - for Ukip.”

”The Independent has learnt that the Thatcherite former minister, who lost his Tatton seat after allegations that he took “cash for questions”, has been shortlisted for one of Ukip’s best prospects at next May’s general election. He will go up against four other candidates in South Basildon and East Thurrock on Wednesday night.”

”Some local Ukip activists are furious, claiming that Mr Hamilton is being “parachuted” into the Essex seat by the party’s London headquarters. It ditched its original candidate, Kerry Smith, in October amid rumours that the plum constituency was being lined up for a “big fish”.”

Lweji · 09/12/2014 01:06

If Hamilton is one of their best prospects, then I think I can sleep tonight.

claig · 09/12/2014 01:06

South Basildon and East Thurrock is in Essex.
Potential UKIP landslide just like much of the rest of Essex.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 09/12/2014 01:10

Wish I could have £1 for every time claig writes the word 'Establishment'

Fuck me I could retire tomorrow Grin

claig · 09/12/2014 01:11
Grin

It's important that people realise that UKIP is anti the Establishment Wink

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 09/12/2014 01:15

Anti women, anti disabled persons, anti foreigners etc etc

I'm anti-Farage

Lweji · 09/12/2014 01:19

And the UKIP is pro what?
Because the Pound is Establishment.

claig · 09/12/2014 01:25

'UKIP is pro what?'

Pro common sense, pro democracy, pro the people, pro sovereignty for the people, pro independence of the country and its politicians who represent the people, pro control of our borders, pro scrapping the Climate Change Act, pro saving public money instead of wasting it, pro lower taxes, pro grammar schools, pro business, pro aspiration, pro abolition of inheritance tax, pro scrapping tuition fees for science degrees, pro scrapping the bedroom tax etc

Isitmebut · 09/12/2014 11:09

‘Anti establishment UKIP’ needing establishment Conservatives, past and present, dodgy, power hungry, achieved sod all to a jam tart on the back benches and overly confident of their own abilities. Got it.

But a fine list of of mainly Conservative values, past, present and the future when affordable, no wonder UKIP is attracting so many of them, and even ‘the bedroom tax’ I’d guess would be up for review before 2015 on how effect in helping those in desperate need of a, or more (family) bedrooms.

That might be because the officially called ‘Spare Room Subsidy’, where it seemed unfair to the 2010 Conservative led coalition that the 5 million ‘many’, needing social housing/bedrooms, while those relative ‘few’ in council homes with spare bedrooms they did not need still occupied those homes – rare in the private sector rental market where tenants would PAY for every extra bedroom – may not be as affective as hoped.

Clearly if they hadn’t been a dire housing shortage in 2010, I doubt any such policy would have necessary to a coalition that has CUT taxes to help the lower paid, BUT WITH NO HOUSING POLICY IN 2010, WHAT WOULD UKIP HAVE DONE?

No doubt UKIP would have put all foreigners in camps, under Commandant Reckless, awaiting deportation, then released them, brought them bank again, released them again – until the Uber Leader Farage finally stopped ‘flip flopping’ and deciding on his policy - writing it down for his troops to follow, for at least one parliament.

“Farage rejects deportation claims amid UKIP migrant row”
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-30111694

Lweji · 09/12/2014 11:17

I wonder what "common sense" is.
My common sense is very different from yours, claig.
And "The people". What people.
And all parties are pro-democracy. Democracy is establishment.
Do you think that denying climate change the climate won't change? Good luck with that.
And with what money do you intend to scrape taxes and fees?
Saving? Saving how? Sacking people? Paying less? I'm in a country who did just that and it is taking us a lot longer to recover financially.

merrymouse · 09/12/2014 17:52

How is it common sense to believe that you can always travel to Port Talbot in 4 hours and if you can't it is because of immigrants? I travel from the south east to West Wales along the M4 fairly regularly and it generally takes about 4 hours. Sometimes it takes 6 hours but that is because, as on any other motorway, sometimes there are road works or accidents. It has as much to do with immigrants as the football results.

Weren't they complaining a while ago that people kept making jokes about them and it was unfair? There comes a point when you have to stop giving people material. What with the Mike Read song and the 'Lenny Henry go back to a black country' and countless other fiascos, UKIP really don't have the luxury of being able to say stupid things just to create outrage.
