I've only heard a little about this so will be interested to watch this.

At min just listening to a man who kidnaps children for a living and who sold his son for £500.00

I saw her on BBC Breakfast on Saturday morning and I actually agreed with her. If the school sold food that was fit for consumption and if the teachers and headmaster ate there too then there wouldn't be a problem. As it is the school canteen is too small to cope with such a large volume of children in a small time frame and the food they serve is crap. There's no point throwing money at schools and pressuring them to sell more salads and less chips if the salads that they serve are manky and look unappetising.

Giving the kids enough time to actually eat lunch without giving them indigestion and providing food that is tasty, nutritious and looks appetising is the only way to stop this kind of militant action being taken. I agree with the general rule of thumb; if the teachers and headmaster eat there out of their own choice and pocket then it's good enough for my child to eat there too.

But the way to go round those points is not to give your kids chips though the fence, but to talk to the head etc first

While the situation is resolved you could give your kids a pack up.

Moderatly easy to do, and doesn't send the message to the kids 'You can break the rules kids, and we will support you'.

I would be interested to know why the school day has been reorgansied. In my experience when this sort of re-organisation happens it is often because the school has issues with children bunking off school.

I found that Guardian article so badly written - it seemed to imply at the start that it was going to reveal something that made sense of shy these women are doing it. But people on here have argued it far better and I'm firmly of the highly disapproving school. Did any others find it a terrible piece?

I'm afraid I just thought it was typical of the Guardian to bring in the miner's strike!

The head has now been told, as has the rest of the country, but I still don't reckon things will change. There's never enough money or time or resources etc.

Personally though, if that was happening at my ds's school then I wouldn't hesitate to pack up a lunch for him. Just hope he could find somewhere to sit down and eat it.
